The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Chapter 128: Chapter 128- Victory or Defeat?

Using her sharp reflexes and agility, Zerina dodged the attacks. However, her field was becoming limited with time, while her opponents flying through the sky were free of any obstruction and could attack her from any direction.

In the end, she was like a rat cornered with swords impaled on the ground all around her.

Huff... Huff... At this moment, Zerina stopped in her tracks and glanced at the descending gryffin, purple black light shining deep within her eyes.

.

Back outside, Vaerion who was looking at the fight through the mirror, folded his hands, assured of his vice commander’s victory.

”Well, the level difference alone is too much after all. Given that her opponent could come this far, they did splendidly...”

His words got stopped abruptly as he saw a large purple black light suddenly erupting from the demi human woman and shooting towards the sky.

”Is that... a panther?”

The huge panther phantom was charging towards the sky, growling and sending for gravity pulse towards the earth.

At the same moment, the phenomenon was so strong that it could even be felt outside the mirror. Everyone suddenly felt that they had become heavier, and it was difficult to even move their arms.

The spectators were shocked, awed, and horrified by the power the demi haumsn they considered as inferior, displayed.

.

”[Ultimate Skill— Spirit Panther Manifest]”

Inside the mirror, Zerina slowly muttered in her heart. At the same time, a giant panther shot out and roared towards the sky, creating an immensely strong gravitational field that was dozens of times stronger than normal.

BOOM... a large depression formed in a hundred meters area around her. Needless to say, it did not affect her.

Zerina glanced at her opponent in the sky and beckoned ’come’. This was her zone; if the opponent flew in carelessly, they would slam into the ground.

[Spirit Panther Manifest] the skill, the trump card that she acquired after training and fighting in that forest non stop. Though unfinished, this was the very best she could do right now.

”I see... Haha, it is quite bold of you to give me a challenge. Very well, I accept your challenge”.

In the sky, Kaelith revealed an excited smile. Her opponent could have used it as a means to surprise her, holding to unleash the skill until the last second. However, instead she used it openly and boldly, as if declaring that she had enough of them flying around and marked that area around her as her own no fly domain.

SCREEE... As if it felt the emotions of its partner, the black gryffin cried out.

”Yeah, I know we can’t allow her to look down on us. Shall we start using some of her real powers then?”

SCREEE... the gryffin cried out and flapped its wings. It flew... higher and higher until Zerina became a small black dot.

”[Spiralling Descend]” for the time, she boldly declared the name of the skill she was about to use.

The next second, the gryffin stopped flying higher, folded its wings, and allowed itself to fall freely.

Whosh... wind blew in their face as the knight and the gryffin started spinning in the air. Soon, they turned into a spiralling tornado descending towards earth diagonally.

At the position they were falling, was Zerina with her domain. They were planning on drilling through her domain and finishing this fight.

1000 meters... 200 meters... 100 meters. Finally, they entered the range of her domain.

BOOM... at the same time, the gryffin and the knight felt a strong pressure trying to flatten them into the ground, pressing down on them. However, they continued to drill through with their momentum and power until Zerina was right in front of them.

The latter seemed to be deliberating whether to take the attack head on or dodge.

”Finally, and I should stress this point. Never ever stand in the...”

GROWL~

She remembered the time when Reinahrdt gave her the final piece of warning, when suddenly her stomach growled, and they were forced to halt their training and proceed with having dinner.

After the dinner, he told her to be extra careful of the gryffin kingiht’s [Spiralling Descend] attack and proceeded to give her a demonstration.

”[Divine Beast Summon] Greater Tier] Come forth, Pegasus!!”.

The three days of training in that forest was meant for this very day. Purple black stripes surfaced on Zerina’s skin and started giving off a dim light. At the same moment, there was a wild, almost primal roar of a panther followed by a drastic increase in her strength.

FLASH... Zerina brandished her large hollow claws, determined to take on the attack.

50 meters... 10 meters... just when it seemed like a clash was inevitable, both parties were covered in light and were thrown out of the domain of the mirror.

Outside, light flashed and both the participants were back in the coliseum once again, their final attacks interrupted.

”The Exhibition match between Zerina, a knight from the Order of the Temple of Light, and Kaelith Virethron, a knight from the Order of the Black Gryffin Legion, ends here. I thank both parties for their brilliant display of skills and chivalry. I believe the audience here has also witnessed your courage, valor, and the ideals you hold. Glory to the Kingdom of Solaris, Glory to the Kingdom of Aetherion”.

”Glory to the Kingdom of Solaris, Glory to the Kingdom of Aetherion.”

The audience parroted. Still unable to come out of their dazed state. Leaving aside the fact that both the knights representing their country were demi humans, just the level of the fight was something leagues above what they came here expecting to see.

On the stage, the two combatants glanced at each other. Finally, Kaelith sighed and unsheathed her sword; the gryffin, following its partner’s example, also started settling down.

”You are strong. I take back my earlier words. I didn’t mean to call your actions foolish. Perhaps if it’s you, who knows, you might accomplish it. All the best.”

Saying that, she dropped and patted her Gryffin. The latter flapped its wings and flew away from the colosuem and out of sight.
