The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Chapter 122: Chapter 122- Exhibition Match

Southern District of the Capital...

After the Queen announced an exhibition match between the knight from Aetherion’s Black Gryffin Order and their own Temple of Light, the atmosphere in the capital had become festive for the past few days.

Merchants, smelling the opportunity, rushed their carriages to arrive at the capital. Stalls were built, attracting customers and the curious alike.

By the day of the Exhibition match, the excitement was already boiling, and the southern district had become packed tight with people.

At the coliseum that was designated to be the stage for the exhibition match, one could see a black carpet of bobbing heads, lining up to get inside the place. That was how much importance people placed on this event.

”Woah, look at the crowd, trying to enter, I don’t think I can see the end. Sir Bob said that an exhibition match is only a show to appease the masses. However, this is too much” Kevin stopped in his tracks to look at the queue.

”Hmph, it’s only natural, after all, the names of the knight order that was spread to be participating in the Exhibition Match are extremely famous. One of the Seven Great Knight Orders is participating, do you think the crowd would miss that?”

Gwen tagging along with him, snorted. The two had become friends now.

At this moment, a voice shouted at them from the front.

”What are you two dilly dallying for? Hurry up and get in”.

The two hurriedly ran and joined the other members of their order. The coliseum was already buzzing with the crowd. The seats were slowly starting to be filled.

The place could easily hold over 200,000 people; as such, there was still a lot of room remaining. However, given the crowd waiting to get in, one could tell that even that would fall short today.

Imagining the staggering impact of a full coliseum, Kevin felt quite nostalgic. This was the very same place where the Magic Knight Entrance Exam had taken place. It hadn’t even been half a year, yet he was already back in this place.

He had become a lot stronger since then and had somewhat overcome his inferiority complex stemming from the fact that he was unable to control his mana. However, he could still remember the scene from a couple of months ago, as if it were yesterday.

Unable to use mana and only relying on his physical stats, no knight order wanted to take him in. It was only the Commander of the Temple of Light who extended his invitation to him.

Seeing his current growth and the friend circle he had built, he was quite happy with how things had progressed.

”There is way more crowd here than it was during our time” Gwen commented, haughty as usual.

Bob who was leading the knights of the Temple of Light, glanced around. It was not only just ordinary people and nobles here. Even some knight orders and their commanders were here.

The Seven Great Knight Orders, other than their Temple of Light, were all absent. However, it did not mean that the powerful ones were missing. He could see quite a few famous knight orders whose reputation was lower only to the Seven Great Knight orders, among the audience.

Not only that, there were also many famous faces and rising dark horses who were the talk of the kingdom due to their recent feats.

’Twenty; no... thirty... There could be more’ Rob silently counted the high level knights in his mind. The match had attracted a lot of attention. That said, it remained to be seen whether it was good or bad.

”Get into your seats. It won’t be long before the match starts.”

The order of the Temple of Light started occupying their seats. Soon, some high nobles and even the King and Queen showed up.

The buzz at this moment was its highest when suddenly it blazed even more fiercely. All eyes focused on a group of people who just entered the coliseum.

Decked in obsidian black armor that even stifled the light, carrying the motif of a majestic silver griffin on their chests and pauldrons, the mighty knights of the Black Griffin Legion made their appearance known.

Of course, their appearance gathered a lot of attention, but not as much as the couple that walked in the front.

One was a blonde haired beauty with bright purple eyes and wore a lavender coloured dress that accentuated her well proportioned body and the regal aura that she exuded. The other was a tall knight with broad shoulders and short black hair. He had a handsome face, striking features and stubby facial hair.

In terms of looks, he was right up there with all the top handsome men in the world.

Of course, it was not just the splendour of the couple that attracted everyone’s attention. Their aura and presence were on another level too, far different than the masses. Coupled with their identity, they quickly became the topic of everyone’s conversation.

The group after entering, first greeted the King and Queen of the kingdom, before heading toward their seats.

”Hmm, how about we go sit. It looks like that Divine Paladin and the female demi human warrior are yet to arrive.”

Not bothering with the crowd, Vaerion led Diana in a knightly manner and sat down in their designated seats.

Over at the seats of the Order of the Temple of Light.

”Woah, are those people the knights from the famous Black Gryffin Legion?” Kevin commented, his eyes sparkling with light like a fan boy as he pointed at the knights donned in pitch black armor.

”Hey, you are embarrassing us. Stop pointing your fingers at them!” Gwen from the side corrected his actions.

”You all, carefully observe them. The Black Gryffin Legion is one of the strongest knight orders of Aetherion. If compared to our Seven Great Knight Orders, they would definitely be at the top three,” Bob explained.
