The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Chapter 118: Chapter 118- Preparations (2)

”You asked for it!”

Her pride provoked, Zerina took a deep breath. At that very instant, the aura around her completely changed. Traces of purple black aura flared around the edges of her body, ruffling her hair and ponytail.

So this is the [Panther Instinct], huh? Reinhardt muttered to himself as he observed her using the [Eyes of Divine Clarity].

[Panther Instinct], a passive trait that heightens Zerina’s reflexes and senses when entering combat. Her movement speed and attack speed increase slightly every time she dodges successfully.

Her passive activating meant that she was serious.

RAWR... Zerina gave a wild roar that shook the surrounding trees and came pouncing at Reinhardt like a black streak. She was so fast that the ground cracked and grasses uprooted wherever she passed by.

BANG... BANG...

”A punch to my head from behind and a kick at my waist”.

The black streak appeared behind him and attacked at the very same manner he mentioned.

Reinhardt dodged the attack effortlessly. Zerina tried connecting; however, after seeing that her attacks were not even coming close to touching him, she had to change her techniques. The purple black aura sticking to her skin flared.

So here it comes, the [Spirit Hollow Fangs]. One of Zerina’s skills that give her a close range burst. Under this skill, her hands and feet glow with a purple black hollow light that sharpens into jagged claws.

The skill not only increases her agility, allowing her to deliver lightning fast slashes, but it also increases her range. The distance that couldn’t be reached with her hands and legs before could now be reached thanks to those claws.

Additionally, as if to increase the deadliness of her attacks, those claws were able to distort space ever so slightly, causing opponents to misjudge their range.

”Here I come,” Zerina, now completely feral, crouched low.

WHOOSH... the next second, leaving a burst of air behind, she disappeared from the sight.

Reinhardt smiled and stepped back. The very next instant a black streak came crashing on the very place he was a second ago.

BOOM... ground cracked and a large depression more than dozens of meters in radius, formed from that drop kick. Zerina continued with her pursuit after that failed attack.

Those hollow claws flashed, and everything that was swiped was slashed and diced. Ground ran with large gashes, and all the trees in the surrounding area were chopped into bits.

That said, no matter how many times those claws swiped, they did not even manage to catch Reinhardt’s shadow. He dodged all of her attacks effortlessly and continued to back away.

Zerina gave pursuit, determined to at least catch the edges of his clothes. It was like a cat and mouse chase. One party ran while the other pursued. The two hadn’t been at it for long. However, a forest area over a mile was devastated, showcasing how powerful a level 8 warrior was, how powerful a demi human chief was.

”Ahhh, now I am pissed. Watch me wipe away that smug from your face” Zerina roared.

”You can try,” Reinhardt provoked. Their battle continued until sunset.

.

.

In the middle of a devastated field, Zerina fell on her butt, her shapely chest panting up and down. Sweat trickled down her body, wetting her clothes and top, which further enhanced her raw sexiness.

”Hahh! I give up, you are impossible to catch. Are you even human?” she complained.

”Of course I am human. What race did you think I was?” Reinhardt teased, standing upright and without breaking a sweat.

”I was not talking about that. What I meant was, you are quite fast for a human. As someone from the panther tribe, I pride myself when it comes to agility. I am confident that I would not lose to anyone, even if their level was above mine. I guess, I still have a long way to declare myself as the fastest”.

Zerina was wrong, when it comes to agility and lethality of her attacks, she can indeed take pride in herself. Her attacks were deadly enough to even give a level 9 powerhouse a run for their money.

What’s more, if she goes all out, she can probably stall a level 10 for a short while. It was just that she was matched with an opponent with a broken stats who could already peek into her repertoire of skills.

Well, you can say that Reinhardt was cheating a little. Nevertheless, from that exchange now, he was certain.

”So how did I do?”

Zerina was a little embarrassed to ask that given that the most she could accomplish was cut his shirt.

”You will lose. Not only that, your defeat will be swift and thorough.” He did not mix words and spoke what he knew from his memories.

”What? I know she is level 9; however, she can’t be that strong.” Zerina was clearly shaken. She had met the vice commander back when she escorted the Queen. However, at that time, she didn’t think that there would be this much of a difference between them.

As of reading her thoughts, Reinhardt commented ”That is because she was alone”.

”What do you mean?”

”Have you wondered why their order is called the Black Gryffin Legion?”

At that mention, her eyes became wide ”You mean... !!!”.

”That’s right, they are a cavalry that fights with Gryffins, a Majestic [S] rank monster. Guardian of the skies and sovereignty, they are regarded as kings among monsters”...

”What’s more, even among Gryffins, a black one is still rare. Not only are they more powerful, but they also tend to be the leader of a herd or a lone ruler of a mountain. It is most likely that as the Vice Commander of the legion, her mount is a Black Gryffin”.

Reinhardt explained, ”Having never seen them fight before, if you went to the match like the way you are now, you are guaranteed a loss”.

Zerina nodded her head, finally understanding why he said she would suffer a swift defeat.

”When fighting the Vice Commander, you need to first push aside everything you know about how a typical knight order from Solaris fights”.
