School Beauty's Personal Crazy Young Master

Chapter 486: Chapter 540: The Person I Love Most

”Was it the master who taught you Medicine Technique?”

Lan Yuqin looked at him, and the anger in her heart was instantly doused.

Compassion is a woman’s nature, not to mention that Chen Nan’s absence from class had a ”reason,” even if he had skipped class for no reason at all. But his master had died, Lan Yuqin didn’t feel it was right to add insult to injury by punishing him.

After all, in her view, Chen Nan was already heartbroken enough.

Chen Nan nodded with a sorrowful face, ”Yes, my master raised me since I was little, yet I haven’t been able to give him a single day of happiness before he passed away. I’m truly unfilial!”

No one knew how Chen Nan managed it, but as he spoke, the tears started rolling down again.

”Alright, don’t be too sad, the dead cannot be brought back to life, so grieve accordingly,” Lan Yuqin consoled, walking over and patting Chen Nan on the shoulder.

”I know.”

Chen Nan nodded, thinking to himself, Old man, I’m not cursing you to die, I just really couldn’t find any other excuses.

Lan Yuqin said, ”My abilities might not be as great as yours, but if there’s anything you need help with in the future, just tell the teacher. As long as I can help, I will do everything in my power.”

”Thank you, teacher.”

Chen Nan thanked her, his expression was one of profound sorrow.

Lan Yuqin sighed, ”You should go back to the classroom, study hard, and the spirit of your master in heaven will be comforted.”

A little girl tries to compete with me, she’s still too green.

Chen Nan nodded in agreement and left the office.

Once he was out in the corridor, Chen Nan let go of the Black Feathered Chicken. He had been holding its beak shut to prevent it from blabbering. As soon as he let go, the chicken immediately started squawking, ”You damn kid, you nearly suffocated me to death!”

Chen Nan glared at it, ”When we get to the classroom, you’d better keep your mouth shut and not speak, so as not to frighten others; if you start rambling, just wait and see if I don’t beat you up.”

The Black Feathered Chicken’s feathers stood on end as it stared back, ”You dare threaten me!”

Chen Nan slapped it with a ”smack,” ”Damn it, I am threatening you, what about it? If you don’t accept it, I’ll make you.”

The Black Feathered Chicken instantly cowered and kept silent.

So, Chen Nan, with a chicken in hand, strode into the classroom.

For this guy who had skipped class for three and a half days, the moment he walked in, he immediately caught the attention of many classmates, especially when they saw the chicken in his hand, everyone felt speechless.

Ordinary people have pets, either dogs or birds, but this guy was special, he kept a chicken...

Such a hobby, quite peculiar indeed.

Seeing Chen Nan sit down, Su Qingqing excitedly said, ”Silly, how did Lan Teacher punish you? Tell us.”

”Taking pleasure in another’s misfortune, too bad for you, Lan Yu didn’t punish me.”

Su Qingqing pouted, ”You just know how to boast. How could she not punish you? Stop pretending, tell me, how many times did she make you copy the school rules? A hundred or two hundred times?”

Chen Nan shrugged, ”I told you I wasn’t punished, if you don’t believe me ask her yourself.”

”How could that be?” Su Qingqing scratched her head, her face full of disappointment, ”Lan Teacher really let me down, she should have at least made you copy it a thousand times. Tell me, how did you fool her?”

”You guess?”

”I can’t guess, just tell me,” Su Qingqing said with a look of anticipation.

Chen Nan grinned, ”Then give me a smile first.”

”Heehee...”

Su Qingqing revealed a radiant smile, the two little dimples on her face momentarily mesmerizing Chen Nan, ”Good cousin, come on, tell me, how did you bamboozle her? Teach me your ways.”

Chen Nan flicked his hair, ”Actually, it’s quite simple. She thinks I am too handsome to punish, so she just begged me not to skip class anymore. Seeing her so pitiful, my heart softened, and I agreed to her request.”

”Narcissist!”

Su Qingqing rolled her eyes in disdain, ”Hmph, even fooling your own cousin, you’re not a good role model.”

”And you think you’re a good cousin? All you do is look forward to my mishaps.” Chen Nan sighed, ”Luckily, you’re not really my cousin. If I had a cousin as heartless as you, it would be the death of me.”

”I couldn’t bear to see you die.”

Su Qingqing said with a smile, completely oblivious to the flirting tone of her words, she shook her head and picked up her book, ”I won’t talk to you anymore; I need to study and catch up on the past two days’ lessons.”

Chen Nan shook his head wistfully and turned his gaze to where Huo Xinya should have been sitting, only to find her seat empty, unaware of when she had left.

Pulling out his textbook, Chen Nan found his thoughts drifting to what his junior said last night while he read.

From her words, Chen Nan could sense that his junior was hiding something from him, but he couldn’t figure out what it could be.

Sitting foolishly for a moment, Chen Nan tossed the Black Feathered Chicken to Su Qingqing and stood up, walking out of the classroom.

He had been planning to go to the restroom, but right as he arrived at the restroom’s entrance, he happened to run into Huo Xinya coming out of the women’s restroom.

After a brief mutual stare, Huo Xinya gave a small smile, averted her gaze, and started to walk past him, but Chen Nan took a step sideways, blocking her path.

”Why are you avoiding me?” Chen Nan asked.

Huo Xinya shook her head, ”I’m not avoiding you. You’re overthinking it.”

”Seeing me and not even saying a word before walking away, has our relationship really become that strained since we parted ways?”

Huo Xinya was silent for a long while before she spoke, ”Follow me.”

After speaking, she seized Chen Nan’s hand and walked away.

Chen Nan didn’t ask where they were going, and simply followed her to the rooftop.

Letting go of his hand and facing Chen Nan, Huo Xinya hesitated slightly before saying, ”When you’re flirting with Qingqing, could you tone it down a bit?”

Chen Nan scratched his head, ”No, I’m just chatting with her normally.”

”But to me, even if it’s just normal chatting, it all seems too tender. Haven’t you noticed that the way you look at her is more affectionate than how you look at anyone else?”

Chen Nan had heard similar sentiments from his junior the night before.

A person can control their brain, but not their heart, and even less so their gaze, because the eyes are the windows to the soul.

The same held true for Chen Nan.

He looked at Huo Xinya and asked, ”Are you jealous?”

”Yes, I am jealous,” she admitted without any evasion, seeming more forthright than before. She looked unblinkingly at Chen Nan, ”I want to ask you something, and you need to answer me truthfully. If you were forced to choose between me, my sister, and Qingqing, who would you choose?”

Chen Nan shook his head, ”I don’t know.”

”It’s not that you don’t know, you just don’t want to say,” Huo Xinya said, ”I thought you would choose my sister, but now it appears that the person you love the most isn’t her—it’s Su Qingqing.”
