Pokémon: My Parallel World Daughters Revealed

Chapter 131: Gossip Is Fun Until You’re the Subject (Membership Extra Chapter)

The video began playing.

A warmly decorated nursery appeared on the screen. Pale-yellow curtains hung over the window, patterned with several Mareep.

The camera slowly moved before settling on a small crib.

A newborn baby girl slept peacefully inside. Her soft black hair lay against her forehead.

Her tiny hands were clenched into fists beside her cheeks, while an extremely faint crescent-shaped birthmark rested on the back of one hand.

A brief description appeared beside the image.

[Miori, one day after birth.]

[VIP Chat Group]

[Iris]: Her hair is so black and smooth! It looks just like Miss Elesa’s hair in her modeling photographs!

[Lenora]: Her facial features are already quite distinct, even as a newborn. She’ll probably be very beautiful when she grows up.

[Skyla]:@Elesa, anyone can tell that she takes after you! Just look at those eyelashes!

[Elesa]: ...

[Dawn]: Why has Miss Elesa started responding with ellipses too?

[Diantha]: Cynthia Syndrome is contagious.

[Cynthia]: ???

The video continued playing.

The camera shifted toward the side of the crib.

Elesa wore loose, pale-colored loungewear, with her long hair casually draped over her shoulders. She was looking down intently at Miori inside the crib.

She extended one finger and touched Miori’s tiny hand as gently as possible.

Miori’s fingers instinctively curled around Elesa’s fingertip.

The corners of Elesa’s mouth rose slightly, and an exceptionally tender warmth filled her eyes.

”I’m your mommy,” she whispered, as though afraid of waking her daughter—or perhaps merely speaking to herself.

The door beside her opened, and Asher walked inside.

”Honey, she was only just born. She can’t understand anything you’re saying.”

The Asher in the video wore a dark-gray, long-sleeved shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows. He carried a baby bottle in one hand.

”I know, but this is my first time being a mother. Of course I want my daughter to call me Mommy as soon as possible~”

Elesa pouted.

”Hmm... Being a mother is so difficult...”

Asher bent down and kissed her forehead.

”You worked hard, honey.”

[VIP Chat Group]

[Iris]: Aaaaaah! Miss Elesa looks so adorable when she acts spoiled!!

[Skyla]: I’m recording this! I’m recording everything!!

[Elesa]: That was my parallel-world counterpart! It has nothing to do with me!

[Wallace]: Why does that line sound so familiar?

[Flint]: Good grief. Are you stealing Asher’s signature excuse now?

[Diantha]: You haven’t even received the memories yet, and Asher is already influencing you?

[Lorelei]: It appears that Asher’s family will soon gain another stubborn new member.

[Steven]: Just look at this scene! Brother Asher has become a father yet again! I don’t know how many more times we’ll witness this, but it still feels incredibly heartwarming.

[Gary]: Good grief. Steven mocks him more ruthlessly than anyone, yet he also accepts everything faster than anyone else.

[Steven]: That’s because I don’t overthink things like the rest of you. All I need to say is that Brother Asher is incredible. Dealing with the consequences afterward is his problem.

[Asher]: Steven, you ¥$%$¥#—! #$&!...

[Screen: A prohibited message has been detected. @Asher has been muted for ten minutes!]

[Wallace]: The moment Steven makes a move, you know he means business.

[Lance]: He leaves no escape route for others—or for himself. That is indeed worthy of admiration.

The video continued playing.

Time passed.

Miori had grown from a tiny baby capable of doing nothing but lying in her crib into an infant who could crawl all over the carpet.

At that moment, she lay on the floor, turning her head from side to side as though searching for a target.

Several soft foam balls and a rubber toy were scattered across the living-room carpet.

Elesa sat on the nearby sofa with a tablet in her hands.

She was completely absorbed in whatever she was reading, swiping her fingers across the screen and occasionally frowning.

Miori raised her head and looked at her before continuing to crawl forward.

She reached the edge of the sofa, grabbed the fabric, and pulled with all her strength.

It didn’t move.

She tried again.

It still didn’t move.

Miori puffed out her cheeks and released an indistinct whine before turning toward the kitchen and stretching both little arms toward Asher, who was heating some milk.

”Eeh!”

Asher turned around and approached with the baby bottle.

”What’s wrong? Is your mother ignoring you?”

Miori continued holding out her arms, wearing an expression so aggrieved that it seemed the entire world had abandoned her.

Asher scooped her off the floor.

Miori immediately grabbed his collar and buried her little face against the side of his neck, releasing an immensely satisfied purring sound.

”Honey.”

”Hmm?”

Elesa didn’t look up.

”Your daughter spent ages crawling around beneath the sofa. Did you seriously not notice her?”

Elesa’s head snapped upward.

When she saw Miori lying comfortably in Asher’s arms, with one little hand still tightly gripping his collar, she hurriedly placed her tablet beside her.

”I-I was reviewing a proposal!”

”What proposal could possibly be more important than your daughter?”

”Obviously, it was...”

Elesa’s voice gradually weakened.

”All right, I was wrong. Baby, would you like Mommy to hold you?”

Miori glanced at her.

Then she buried her face against Asher’s neck again, leaving only the back of her head facing Elesa.

Asher shrugged.

”It seems Mio doesn’t want to talk to you.”

Elesa instantly turned to stone.

[Regular-Seat Chat Group]

”Miori: Daddy’s arms are the safest place in the world. Mommy only cares about her tablet.”

”I took a screenshot of Elesa turning to stone. It’ll make a perfect reaction image.”

[VIP Chat Group]

[Skyla]: Hahahaha! This is so entertaining! We’d never normally get to see Elesa behave like this!

[Diantha]: Elesa’s reaction to being rejected by her daughter is far too adorable. I have a feeling that whenever Miori wants something in the future, Elesa will obediently bring it to her.

[Elesa]: I would never behave like that!

[Jasmine]: Really?

[Elesa]: Of course!

In the real world, Castelia City

Elesa sat in a dressing room at a filming location.

The screen before her was still playing the video, but she had already lost the ability to concentrate on it.

”Miss Elesa.”

An assistant opened the door and entered, carrying a stack of documents.

”Tomorrow’s modeling schedule has been adjusted. We need you to confirm the changes.”

Elesa accepted the documents and flipped through two pages before setting them down.

”Postpone it for a week.”

The assistant froze.

”Postpone it? But the brand involved in this shoot was extremely difficult to schedule...”

”I know.”

Elesa massaged her brow.

”Tell them that something unexpected came up. Pay the cancellation fee from my personal account. I’d also like to take a few days off and get myself back into the right state of mind.”

The assistant appeared ready to say something else, but after looking at Elesa, she ultimately swallowed her words.

”Understood. I’ll make the arrangements.”

After the assistant left, Elesa leaned back in her chair and stared blankly at the screen for a long time.

Watching other people’s drama had been entertaining.

But now that the teasing had turned toward her, she genuinely had no idea what to do.

TL: Thanks, Knight Wolf, for the Tier 3(??) membership... I had no idea you could pay more than the required amount. I appreciate it, muah! The ”muah” is mandatory btw—check out my webnovel Chapters, i-it’s not like I want to do it or anything.
