Pokémon: My Parallel World Daughters Revealed

Chapter 110: The Helpless Wife Watches Her Husband Get Stolen (Extra Chapter to complete the End of Tiana arc in Patreon in one go)

The scene changed.

A corridor inside the Sinnoh League headquarters.

Lucian emerged from the archives carrying a cup of coffee and encountered Flint coming from the opposite direction with an armful of documents.

”Is Cynthia still in the conference room?” Flint asked quietly.

”She’s been there since seven this morning.”

Lucian adjusted his glasses.

”She only ate one sandwich for lunch, and that was because her secretary practically forced it into her hands.”

”She’s doing this again.”

Flint frowned.

”Hasn’t the containment plan for Mount Coronet already been finalized?”

”She isn’t busy.”

Lucian took a sip of coffee.

”She’s using work to distract herself.”

The two of them fell silent for a moment.

”Asher’s the same. He still hasn’t sent us any news.”

Flint scratched his hair.

”If he comes back and discovers that his wife has lost a noticeable amount of weight, the rest of us are going to...”

”I’ll be leaving on a business trip in a few days.”

Lucian turned around and started walking away.

”Keep a closer eye on League affairs while I’m gone.”

”You’re taking a business trip now?! Hey! Lucian! You’re sacrificing me!”

[Diantha]: Using work to numb herself... That habit hasn’t changed since she became Champion.

[Elesa]: As a model, I can say with complete confidence that repeated all-nighters combined with an irregular diet will make your skin the first thing to protest.

[Iris]: Champion Cynthia is so beautiful that she could probably survive a few nights without sleep, right?

[Valerie]: Her emotional state is the important part. When you’re unhappy, no skincare product can save you.

[Jasmine]: You all sound remarkably experienced...

[Mallow]: Honestly, though, it’s completely natural for Champion Cynthia to be worried. Asher is guarding the space-time rift alone right now.

[Lillie]: I would definitely be unable to sit still either.

[Cynthia]: ...

[Sabrina]: Human emotions are always so fragile. However, that fragility is itself a kind of strength.

[Koga]: ...Sabrina, you still speak as mysteriously as ever.

The video continued playing.

The conference-room door was gently pushed open.

Without raising her head, Cynthia said:

”Just leave the documents on the table.”

”It’s me.”

Hearing that voice, Cynthia looked up.

Lucian stood in the doorway, holding a steaming cup of coffee.

”Your fourth cup today.”

Lucian placed the coffee on her desk.

”If you continue drinking at this rate, the Sinnoh League’s coffee machine will award you a lifetime achievement prize.”

Cynthia picked up the coffee and took a sip.

”Is there any new information from Mount Coronet?”

”There is.”

Lucian removed a folded report from his pocket and handed it to her.

”One hour ago, a League monitoring station detected an enormous energy fluctuation. Our preliminary assessment is that Asher directly confronted some kind of entity within the rift. The specific details are still being analyzed.”

Cynthia opened the report and scanned the graphs and figures.

Her pupils contracted slightly.

”The peak energy reading was more than three times higher than the last one.”

”Correct.”

Lucian sat down in a chair.

”However, the fluctuation lasted for less than ten minutes before subsiding. Afterward, the rift’s rate of expansion actually decreased. Asher was probably responsible.”

Cynthia closed the report and took a deep breath.

Lucian set down the documents in his hand.

”Cynthia, you should go to Mount Coronet.”

”But the League’s work...”

”Flint can take over.”

Lucian interrupted her.

”He’s merely lazy. It isn’t that he’s incapable of working.”

Inside Flint’s office—

Flint was asleep with his head resting on his desk. The pile of documents beside him was taller than his Infernape.

The office door suddenly opened.

Lucian entered and dropped a thick stack of files onto Flint’s desk.

The sound jolted Flint upright.

”What was that?!”

”A temporary transfer of responsibilities.”

Lucian adjusted his glasses.

”Cynthia is going to Mount Coronet. Until she returns, you will be responsible for all supply allocations, patrol arrangements, and follow-up work concerning the expansion of the restricted zone.”

Flint stared at him with wide eyes.

”Wait... When did I agree to take on all of that?”

”Just now,” Lucian replied without changing his expression. ”While you were talking in your sleep.”

”I never talk in my sleep!”

”Then you must be talking in your sleep right now.”

Lucian turned and headed toward the door.

”Deliver the completed files to the secretary’s office. The deadline is eight tomorrow morning.”

Flint looked at the towering stack of documents and released a howl of despair.

Infernape silently took half a step backward.

”Flint is so miserable! Hahahaha! He got drafted into working while he was asleep!”

”Lucian: I wasn’t asking for your opinion. I was notifying you.”

”Flint: Who am I? Where am I? What am I supposed to do? Lucian: You’re the temporary person in charge of the entire Sinnoh League today. Flint: ???”

[VIP Chat Group]

[Bertha]: Hahaha! I never expected Lucian to learn such wicked tricks!

[Flint]: So I’m the only person who suffers in the end?

[Lucian]: I see. So this method works... (Silently taking notes.)

[Aaron]: Wait. What exactly did you learn?

[Lucian]: Better you than me. My apologies, colleagues!

[Flint]: ??

[Aaron]: ??

The video continued playing.

Mount Coronet, at the boundary of the League-controlled zone.

Cynthia jumped down from Garchomp’s back. The sound of her feet landing on the loose stones was especially clear in the silence.

Asher turned around.

When he saw her, he raised an eyebrow.

”Honey, why are you here?”

”Flint is handling the League’s work.”

Cynthia walked up to him and tugged at his collar.

”Your clothes are torn. How did this happen?”

”It’s nothing serious.”

Asher took her hand.

”Haven’t you been eating properly these past few days? There’s barely any flesh left on your hand.”

Cynthia didn’t answer.

She merely stared down at the tear in Asher’s collar, repeatedly brushing her fingers along its edge.

Her eyes gradually turned red.

”Do you have any idea what I thought when I saw the report about that energy fluctuation? I almost believed...”

Asher froze.

In truth, the tear had merely been caused by a Dragon Claw scratching him when he entered the Reverse World to suppress Giratina. It had been nothing serious.

However, his wife appeared to have misunderstood.

Asher reached out and pulled Cynthia into his arms.

”I’m right here,” he said quietly. ”I’m not going anywhere.”

Cynthia rested against him for a while before wrapping her arms around his waist.

”You always do this...”

Seeing them, Dragonite hurriedly led Cynthia’s Garchomp a short distance away.

The two Pokémon turned their backs toward their Trainers, leaving the couple some privacy.

[Regular-Seat Chat Group]

”They hugged! They hugged! Asher and Cynthia finally hugged! I hereby declare that my ship has ascended on the spot!”

”Garchomp: I carried my Trainer all this way just to watch you two flirt? Dragonite: Get used to it. My Trainer is always like this.”

[VIP Chat Group]

[Diantha]: They finally hugged! I’ve waited far too long for this moment!

[Bianca]: Aaaaah, they’re so perfect together!!

[Dawn]: Tiana-ship stocks are soaring!! (≧∀≦)

[Iris]: I’m buying! I’m buying!

[May]: Although... I mean... I’m sorry, Misty, but these two really are wonderful together!

[Misty]: I have to admit that they do make a good couple, but why does it have to be Asher?! Can’t they hurry up and break up already?! -(｀Д´)

[Daisy]:The helpless wife watches her husband get stolen

[Violet]: Hahaha! You looked away for one second, and half your man was claimed by someone else!

[Lily]: What do you mean half? She clearly stole the whole man!

[Misty]: You three had better prepare yourselves when you return to the Gym!! (#`皿´)

[Daisy]: Wait, does that mean we’re allowed not to return? Th-That sounds amazing!!

[Misty]: ???
