Pokémon: My Parallel World Daughters Revealed

Chapter 129: This Is Flint’s First Time Handling So Many Documents at Once (Power Stone Milestone Extra Chapter 1/2)

In the real world, Cerulean Gym

”Yaaawn~”

Asher yawned and glanced at the alarm clock beside him.

It was only eight o’clock.

Cynthia was still sound asleep, while Misty had disappeared somewhere.

The bedroom door was gently pushed open, and Misty entered carrying a tray with two cups of hot cocoa and several slices of toast.

”I was wondering why there hadn’t been any movement for so long,” Misty whispered. ”So you had a beautiful woman beside you and forgot all about getting out of bed?”

”That’s not fair. Cynthia was exhausted last night. I was only trying not to wake her.”

Their conversation finally woke Cynthia completely.

She opened her eyes blearily and discovered that she was wrapped around Asher in an extremely undignified position, while Misty stood beside the bed watching her with an amused smile.

Cynthia swiftly released him and retreated from his arms.

”...Good morning.”

The tips of her ears reddened at a visibly rapid pace.

”Morning.”

Misty placed the tray on the bedside table.

”Did you sleep well? The bed is a little small, so it was cramped with three people. I suppose it’ll be fine once you get used to it.”

Asher considered this for a moment.

”Now that you mention it, we really should move into a larger house.”

”All right,” Misty answered first. ”But I’m personally supervising the renovations.”

”I want to be involved too,” Cynthia added. ”It needs at least one study.”

”Fine, fine. A suitable ready-made house might be difficult to find, though. I’ll have to ask someone for help.”

Asher opened the screen and switched to the VIP chat.

[VIP Chat Group]

[Asher]:@Steven, are you there?

[Steven]: Here, here, here, here! Brother Asher, you actually contacted me first! Did you miss me?!

[Asher]: I need your help with something.

[Steven]: What happened? Is someone causing trouble for you? Just say the word! As your brother, I’m duty-bound to help!

[Asher]: Find me a house.

[Steven]: ?

[Steven]: Wait, Brother Asher. Did you fail to smooth things over with my sisters-in-law and get thrown out?

[Asher]: Screw you. Things are different now, so I need a larger place.

[Steven]: Brother Asher, isn’t this progressing a little too quickly?

[Asher]: Stop talking nonsense. Can you find the house or not?

[Steven]: Yes! Yes, yes, yes! Of course I can! My brother’s business is my business! But Brother Asher, which city are you planning to move to?

[Asher]: Anywhere is fine. You decide. You’re paying for it anyway.

[Steven]: No problem! I’ll pay... Wait, I’m paying?!

[Asher]: Would you like me to start calculating everything you’ve done to me in the past?

[Steven]: ...Fine. I’ll pay.

[Misty]:@Steven, the house needs an indoor swimming pool.

[Cynthia]:@Steven, it needs a study. Preferably two floors, with a skylight on the upper floor.

[Steven]: All right, all right. Swimming pool, study, skylight—I’ve written everything down. Are there any other requirements?

[Asher]: Somewhere quiet, preferably close to either the mountains or the sea.

[Asher]: Once it’s done, I’ll give you a fragment of an extraterrestrial meteorite as payment.

[Steven]: !!!

[Steven]: Brother Asher, you’re my biological brother from this moment onward! I’m going to find your house right now. I’ll send you three options before eight tomorrow morning!

Steven’s efficiency in handling the matter was even greater than his efficiency when searching for stones. By the following morning, three possible properties had already been sent to Asher’s communicator.

After a brief discussion, the three of them ultimately chose the third property.

It was an enormous estate in Porta Vista, in the Kanto region. The main residence was a traditional Japanese-style building, and a natural hot spring was nestled within its courtyard. It was also far enough from the city to be quiet while still offering views of the ocean and beach.

That same afternoon, the cleaning team Steven had dispatched thoroughly cleaned the estate from top to bottom.

When Asher brought Misty and Cynthia to inspect the property, Steven himself was already squatting beside the entrance.

The moment he saw Asher, he immediately handed over the keys and smiled.

”Brother Asher, you’re finally here. I had the estate renovated according to your requirements. Just tell me if you need anything else, and I’ll have it delivered immediately.”

Asher nodded in satisfaction before handing him a small box.

”Good man. Here~”

Steven accepted the box, his eyes immediately lighting up.

He waved his hand.

”Then I won’t disturb the three of you. See you later!”

After Steven left, the three of them entered the estate together.

The place truly was enormous. Even several dozen people could have lived there without a problem.

Misty and Cynthia went to familiarize themselves with their new surroundings, while Asher sat alone in the courtyard and admired the scenery.

Celestic Town Historical Research Center.

Professor Carolina sat in her study, leafing through an ancient book, when her communicator suddenly rang.

She walked over and saw that Cynthia was requesting a video call.

”Little Cynthia, have you finished moving?”

Professor Carolina examined her granddaughter through the screen.

Cynthia wore pale-colored loungewear, and her hair had been casually tied into a ponytail. She appeared far more relaxed than she had before.

”We’re finished. Let me show you.”

Cynthia turned the camera toward the courtyard.

The maple trees were painted gold and crimson by the afternoon sunlight, while wisps of steam rose from the hot-spring pool.

”That hot spring looks wonderful.”

Professor Carolina nodded.

”I’ll come and visit you in a few days.”

”All right. Grandma, how have you been feeling lately?”

”I’m perfectly healthy. It’s simply a little lonely living here by myself.”

Professor Carolina abruptly changed the subject.

”Cynthia, when are you and Asher going to...”

”Grandma.”

The tips of Cynthia’s ears began turning red.

”I still need to organize the study. I’m hanging up now.”

After the call ended, Professor Carolina leaned back in her chair and muttered toward the ceiling:

”That child... When am I finally going to hold my great-granddaughter?”

Three days later—

[VIP Chat Group]

[Flint]:@Cynthia, Champion, it’s already been three days. When exactly are you coming back?

[Aaron]: Flint and I have been working overtime day and night for three days. Our mental states are becoming concerning.

[Flint]: Concerning?! I’m on the verge of a complete breakdown! Cynthia dumped all her work on me before she left. Aaron only agreed to take a third of it, Bertha claimed she was too old to work overtime, and Lucian said he had to leave on a business trip—but I know he was making excuses!

[Lucian]: I genuinely am away on a business trip.

[Flint]: Bullshit!

[Aaron]: The documents on Flint’s desk are piled so high that I can no longer see his face.

[Bertha]: Hehe. There’s nothing wrong with young people doing a little extra work.

[Flint]: Bertha, you’re also a member of the Elite Four! Come over and approve at least a few documents!

[Bertha]: At my age, simply continuing to hold a position at the League is already my way of remaining useful. You surely can’t expect an elderly woman to work overtime and approve documents every day.

[Flint]: You aren’t making yourself useful! You’re holding an honorary position so you can enjoy your retirement!

[Bertha]: Ahem. That isn’t true. I conducted an on-site investigation at Mount Coronet just last month.

[Flint]: You call that an on-site investigation?! You brought a tent and went camping and fishing!

[Bertha]: Relaxing the body and mind while conducting research is called maintaining a proper balance between work and rest.

[Flint]: ...

[Lucian]: Flint, you should simply accept your fate.

[Aaron]: Accept it, Flint. This is the care and affection of your elders.

[Flint]: Affection, my ass!

[Cynthia]: Flint, I’m sorry. I just moved, so there are quite a few things I need to handle here.

[Flint]: Then what are we supposed to do about the Sinnoh League?!

[Cynthia]: Aren’t all of you still there?

[Flint]: Your argument makes so much sense that I can’t even refute it.

[Lucian]: Stop struggling, Flint.

[Aaron]: Accept reality, Flint.

[Flint]: No! If this continues, I’m going to work myself to death. That’s right—I’ll ask Volkner for help!

[Volkner]: Get lost! Stay the hell away from me!

...

TL: It’s finally over—sob. It was a nice run, Tiana.
