Martial God Asura

Chapter 6233: Your Benefactor’s Son Is In Front Of You

The aura was so discreet that it could have eluded Old Cat’s notice even though Chu Feng had discovered it.

More importantly, the metal tool resembled a crossbow, and it was pointing in the direction of where Jie Shanxian was previously trapped. The martial power formation contained powerful breaching prowess; it was prepared for Jie Shanxian.

This martial power formation should have already activated, but the crossbow arrow didn’t fire, possibly because it noticed that Jie Shanxian had already been freed. It was a highly ingenious formation; most world spiritists wouldn’t have been able to create such a precise formation.

“What fortuitous encounter did my father stumble upon to be able to construct such formidable martial power formations?” Chu Feng murmured.

Old Cat didn’t hear those words, but Eggy did.

“What? Your father is behind this formation?!” Eggy widened her eyes in astonishment.

“I think so. I sense my father’s aura. This formation is designed to rescue Jie Shanxian. I can’t think of anyone else who would do this other than my father,” Chu Feng said.

“Right, your father did promise to save Jie Shanxian. I guess he had to flee back then because he couldn’t withstand the energy, but he returned after becoming stronger. But why didn’t he save Jie Shanxian straight? That’s a roundabout way of doing things. Or does this have something to do with the energy infused inside Old Cat’s carcass?

“That is plausible. The timeline fits. Old Cat started sensing his carcass around the same time your father planted the protective formation inside your body. Considering how powerful that protective formation is, your father must have reached a high cultivation level. He should have been capable of pulling it off.

“He entered this formation space in search of the treasure, only to stumble upon a pile of bones emanating overwhelming resentment. Given your father’s personality, he would investigate the matter to uncover the truth. He probably learned about the secrets between the Ancient Era’s War Clan and Old Cat, so he decided to give Old Cat a helping hand.

“He probably thought it was better for Old Cat to regain his powers first before freeing Jie Shanxian, so he opted to construct this martial power formation here. What do you think about my conjecture, Chu Feng?” Eggy asked.

“My thoughts alike. I also think my father is behind everything.” Chu Feng nodded.

“But if your father has decided to help Old Cat, why doesn’t he see it all the way through and bring Old Cat here? What if Old Cat never makes it here to recover his powers? The martial power formation would have never triggered, and Jie Shanxian would never be freed,” Eggy asked.

“I don’t know. My father might have secretly made some arrangements,” Chu Feng replied.

“Your father is indeed an enigmatic man. I can’t believe someone as powerful as him is still unknown in the world of cultivation. Practically all the news we have stumbled upon about your father is related to remnants. Seriously, why is a cultivator like your father so obsessed with graverobbing?” Eggy exclaimed.

“It’s called exploring remnants, not graverobbing,” Chu Feng corrected.

Eggy rolled her eyes. “Exploring remnants is just another term for graverobbing.”

Chu Feng was rendered speechless. He couldn’t refute that. His father was indeed passionate about graverobbing.

“Chu Feng, how strong do you think your father is if he is behind this? If he still isn’t strong enough to rescue your mother, I can’t imagine what monsters are lurking in the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion,” Eggy murmured worriedly.

Chu Feng’s greatest worry was still his mother. It was only a matter of time before he made a trip to the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion. But if the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion was that powerful, Chu Feng might still struggle to rescue his mother even after advancing to Heavenly God level.

“Brother Chu Feng, you have been staring at that metal tool for quite some time now. Are you unable to see through it too? It seems to be pointing in the direction where you came from,” Old Cat probed out of curiosity.

He hadn’t gotten a chance to have a proper conversation with Chu Feng yet, but he picked up many details from the Ancient Era’s War Clansmen’s earlier chatter.

Chu Feng looked at Old Cat and made up his mind. He asked, “Old Cat, under normal circumstances, you shouldn’t have been able to recover your cultivation from those bones, right?”

“Yes, that’s right,” Old Cat replied.

“Why aren’t you telling me the truth then?” Chu Feng asked.

“What truth?” Old Cat was confused.

“This formation was constructed around the same time as when you started to sense your carcass. Someone was behind all of this. You should have been able to tell as much,” Chu Feng pointed out.

Old Cat widened his eyes. He grabbed Chu Feng’s shoulders and anxiously asked, “Chu Feng, is there any lingering aura? You have to find that person for me. He is my benefactor!”

Chu Feng was flustered. He was planning to corner Old Cat into admitting that someone had helped him, but he didn’t expect the latter to concede to it so easily. This worked in his favor.

“You did sense it! Tell me the truth, Old Cat. What did you sense from the formation?”

“Fine, I’ll tell you the truth. My bones are packed with not just the martial power formation’s energy but natural oddities too. Thanks to that, my carcass regained its energy. The person behind this is my benefactor for giving me a second chance in life. I have to repay this debt.

“However, my benefactor didn’t leave any information behind. Now that I have absorbed the energy and the natural oddities, this martial power formation is the only clue left. So, Brother Chu Feng, please take a closer look and help me uncover clues about my benefactor,” Old Cat pleaded.

Chu Feng chuckled. “Search no further.”

“Huh?” Old Cat was bewildered.

“You are in the presence of your benefactor’s son.”

“You brat! I am being serious! Help me look into it...” Old Cat’s voice began to trail off as he noticed the serious look on Chu Feng’s face. He was stunned for a second before laughing in a mix of awkwardness and disbelief. “You can’t be serious... right?”
