Martial God Asura

It was then that Elder Liu spoke up, “Young hero Chu Feng is right. The world is huge enough for anything to happen, but there must be some kind of logic to it. Perhaps our three prodigies here can unravel the mystery behind this place. Follow me.”

Elder Liu brought Chu Feng and the others into the spirit formation gate.

The teleportation passageway was old but not ancient. It contained Elder Liu’s aura, indicating that it was opened by him.

As soon as Chu Feng stepped out of the teleportation passageway, he felt a gush of cold air. Everyone, regardless of their cultivation level, shuddered.

This coldness chilled not just their bodies but their souls too, instilling unease in their hearts. They already had an ominous feeling in their guts despite not having met the female ghost yet.

“Elder Liu, give me a few talismans,” Xianhai Shaoyu said.

Elder Liu divided the talisman papers in his hand into three stacks and handed them to Chu Feng, Xianhai Shaoyu, and Little Fishy.

Xianhai Shaoyu immediately pasted the talisman papers on his clothes and forehead, which made him look like a talisman entity.

“What’s wrong, brother? I thought you wanted to meet the female ghost?” Little Fishy asked with a teasing smile.

“Forget it. I’m here to cultivate anyway, not to meet the female ghost. Why don’t you hand me your talisman papers if you’re planning to meet the female ghost? You won’t be using them anyway,” Xianhai Shaoyu said as he reached for Little Fishy’s talisman papers.

“Dream on.” Little Fishy didn’t give him a chance to swipe her talisman papers. “Scaredy little cat.”

“I’m not scared. I’m merely taking precautions in case that female ghost is a pervert. I need to remain chaste for my Brother Chu Feng!” Xianhai Shaoyu exclaimed.

His parents and grandfather were rendered speechless.

“You have a screw loose,” Little Fishy spat.

But Xianhai Shaoyu was undeterred. He turned to Chu Feng and winked. “Just give the word, and I’ll be yours.”

Chu Feng laughed. He had long gotten used to Xianhai Shaoyu’s line of jokes.

But Little Fishy couldn’t take it. She pinched Xianhai Shaoyu’s cheek and roared, “You pervert! Continue talking nonsense and I’ll rip your mouth open!”

Xianhai Shaoyu’s cheek was stretched so far that he quickly begged for mercy. “I was wrong! I was wrong!”

Everyone else was already used to the siblings’ antics.

Chu Feng started to survey their surroundings.

They were in a humongous, naturally-formed cavern spanning the size of an underground realm. The cavern walls were covered in a thin layer of ice, making them exceptionally sturdy. The ice was where the coldness originated, and it was also the cultivation resource they were here for.

The layer of ice should have been thicker, but it had been refined and assimilated by others.

“How did you find this place?” Chu Feng asked.

He had paid close attention to his surroundings since arriving at this realm, but up to this point, he hadn’t found any sign there was a cultivation spot here. Given his keen eyes, his inability to find this place despite knowing about its existence showed just how well-hidden this place was.

That was why he was curious to know how the Immortal Sea Fish Clan found this place.

“It’s this.”

The Immortal Sea Fish Clan’s Clan Chief took out an old goatskin parchment and passed it to Chu Femg.

Chu Feng unfurled the scroll.

It required some observation prowess, but he quickly realized it was a hidden map through Heaven’s Eyes. The map detailed the location and the way to enter the destination.

“Our Immortal Sea Fish Clan bought this map at a high price at an auction, and we quickly noticed something exceptional about it. We quickly made our way here, but we found that someone else had been here not too long ago. We deduced that the person who sold us the scroll might have cultivated here first before selling it at a high price.

“We investigated the matter and learned that the scroll was sold by a duo, but both had disguised themselves, so we have no way of knowing their background. We quickly found that the ice can be used as a cultivation resource, but the cost of refinement is high as well,” the Immortal Sea Fish Clan’s Clan Chief told Chu Feng.

“I see. Thank you for telling me, elder.”

That explained the situation. It was someone else who discovered this place.

The goatskin parchment was old, but it didn’t carry the Ancient Era’s aura. This meant that the person who found this place was a present-era cultivator.

Chu Feng and the others ventured deeper into the cavern.

Some parts of the ice looked brighter than others, and they emanated richer natural energies too. On top of that, they contained concentrated martial enlightenment that would be highly beneficial to one’s cultivation.

These were the cultivation resources Elder Liu had refined at a high price.

“Elder Liu, can we start cultivating right away? Is there anything we need to take note of?” Xianhai Shaoyu asked.

He was teeming with excitement. As a cultivator, he could tell how potent the cultivation resources were.

“The refinement might not be perfect, but it can be assimilated. You can just cultivate normally,” Elder Liu said.

Chu Feng, Little Fishy, and Xianhai Shaoyu walked over and sat down.

“Here.” Chu Feng passed his talisman papers to Xianhai Shaoyu.

Seeing that, Little Fishy also passed her talisman papers to Xianhai Shaoyu.

“The two of you aren’t afraid? That female ghost will affect your cultivation,” Xianhai Shaoyu said.

“Actually, I have been wondering if the female ghost is a fortuitous encounter instead of an obstacle. Those who can overcome the female ghost might benefit more from here, though I have no basis behind this,” Elder Liu suddenly spoke up.

“Elder Liu’s words make sense. There must be a reason behind everything. I don’t believe in ghosts, so I’m curious to meet the female ghost,” Chu Feng said before he began assimilating the cultivation resources.

Little Fishy followed suit.

“Haaa! Doesn’t that make me a coward?”

With a sigh, Xianhai Shaoyu took off the talisman papers he had plastered on and began cultivating.

Everything was normal at first.

A gush of natural energies flowed into Chu Feng’s body, and he directed the energies toward bombarding the gate that was standing in the way of his breakthrough. However, it would take more than brute force to open the gate.

Chu Feng had to find the right method to open the gate to make a breakthrough.

The cultivation resources the Immortal Sea Fish Clan had invested heavily in and spent decades preparing were indeed no joke.

It didn’t take long for Chu Feng to gather sufficient natural energies, but even so, he continued to assimilate more natural energies in hopes of gathering more martial enlightenment to find the impetus for a breakthrough.

All of a sudden, Chu Feng felt a wave of cold intent that caused him to shudder. He vaguely sensed a pair of eyes staring at him.

He opened his eyes right away, but found himself unable to move.

He was still in the cavern, but Xianhai Shaoyu and the others were nowhere to be seen.

A silhouette could be spotted in the fog ahead of him.

It was a woman dressed in a white dress with her hair scattered messily. She was slowly approaching him with her back against him, but it turned out that she was facing him, just that her hair was covering her face.

Even so, he could still see a pair of empty eye sockets.

The gaze was from her.

“Cut the act and get straight to the point,” Chu Feng said.

The female ghost vanished, only for her ghastly pale face to appear before Chu Feng the next moment. She stared at Chu Feng with her empty eye sockets, and blood started to gush forth.

“Haa!” Chu Feng sighed. “Elder, I might be young, but I have killed many people. I have witnessed all sorts of horrors in the world. You can’t scare me like this. Why don’t you get straight to the point?”

That stumped the female ghost for good.
