Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2237: Chapter 1698: This Item Is Mine

Bai Xiaosheng set his eyes on the necklace and made a decisive decision without wasting a second, urging the store manager to take it out while handing his card to the clerk to make the payment. Lin Weiwei followed to handle the transaction.

As the tall glass cabinet was being opened and the store manager reached to take the ”Light of Yorkshire” worth seven million US Dollars off the statue’s neck, the crowd heard a voice that seemed almost torn apart.

The store manager had already taken out the necklace and couldn’t help but turn his head to look.

The crowd also turned to look.

They saw a short, fat white middle-aged man, as round as a ball, with a bald head, running from afar. Presumably due to lack of exercise, the man ran clumsily and with difficulty.

A group of men and women in business attire followed him, looking like subordinates.

”Sheng, it’s been handled.”

Just then, Lin Weiwei squeezed through the crowd to Bai Xiaosheng, taking a glance in the direction everyone was looking.

Bai Xiaosheng, hearing this, directly took the necklace from the store manager’s hand.

By the time the store manager reacted, his hands were already empty and he stared blankly at Bai Xiaosheng.

”Who is coming?” Bai Xiaosheng gestured toward the white fat man running over.

”That’s one of our company’s vice presidents—Mr. Mai, in charge of top-tier jewelry client strategies and jewelry image presentation.”

The store manager replied, a trace of confusion appearing on his face.

Mr. Mai inspecting stores wasn’t uncommon; Ganande had dozens of store locations under their brand, and Mr. Mai often visited.

However, it didn’t seem appropriate at this time interval, especially today, as there’s a major jewelry show tonight that Mr. Mai is busy coordinating with top-tier celebrities and preparing for.

Every time Mr. Mai is involved, the prices for the celebrities are the highest, but the jewelry can’t be given to them because they’re the cream of the crop and later need to be introduced to European royalty, oil tycoons—the designs and materials of those ornaments are unmatched.

Now that Mr. Mai is here, loudly calling out, the store manager still couldn’t grasp the situation, but hurriedly left this area, parting the crowd to greet him.

The people nearby heard the store manager’s words and all stared at the rapidly approaching white fat man, murmuring among themselves.

In the crowd, a pair of white man and woman exchanged glances yet kept their eyes on the necklace in Bai Xiaosheng’s hand.

”Seems like this Huaxia person really got hold of a good thing!” the thirty-something white man couldn’t help but say quietly to the woman.

The woman’s eyes were fixed on the item in Bai Xiaosheng’s hand, her gaze covetous, ”I wanted it just now! Now, I want it even more!”

”Hannah, if you really like it, we’ll buy it from him.” The man smiled slightly, fully confident.

”Really, Jack?” the woman couldn’t help but brighten her eyes.

Jack smiled confidently, pushed through the people in front, and approached Bai Xiaosheng, speaking softly, ”Sir.”

Bai Xiaosheng, hearing someone speaking to him, immediately turned his head, surprised to glance at Jack.

He didn’t know the other person.

”This item in your hand, I’m afraid you won’t be able to take it away. The other party doesn’t seem to intend to sell it, and shortly they’ll come to negotiate its return.” Jack smiled at Bai Xiaosheng, ”In a foreign land, save yourself the trouble. But you can pass the trouble to me. I’m Jack.”

With that, Jack glanced over at Mr. Mai, who had to stop to catch his breath after that run.

Being that fat certainly wasn’t conducive to exercise or even intense movement.

Jack withdrew his gaze, smiling at Bai Xiaosheng, ”They’d probably add one million as compensation for you. But if you sell it to me, I’ll give you double the price!”

Jack had the impression that Huaxia people were cunning and savvy—getting rid of trouble and instantly earning double, why wouldn’t they consider it?

Jack’s female companion Hannah also squeezed over, her gaze shining as she listened.

Bai Xiaosheng smiled, glanced at the necklace in his hand, seemingly admiring its beauty, enticing Hannah to stare as well.

”Thank you for your kind offer, Mr. Jack, but I can handle this trouble myself.” Bai Xiaosheng replied with a smile.

Jack’s face stiffened slightly, then smiled, ”Brother, you may not know, I come from a very prestigious family. The person wanting the necklace in your hand is Miss Hannah here; her family is equally eminent. Passing this item to me would make us friends, as for the price... I’ll offer triple!”

Jack really put in the effort.

He also realized that someone who doesn’t wrinkle their brow at spending seven million dollars might not care about earning double.

So he attempted to persuade with friendship and simultaneously increased the price.

Just a moment ago, when Jack jokingly offered Hannah several million, it was purely a playful banter between a man and a woman. How could he seriously lend money—it’s merely a few million.

It was simply a flirtation between a man and a woman.

If Hannah truly wanted to borrow, Jack would take the opportunity to tease her.

At the moment, to please his female companion, why not directly spend triple the amount to buy it? Jack certainly wouldn’t mind spending it.

Hannah couldn’t help but glance at Jack, her eyes shimmering, seeming genuinely touched.

On the side, Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying looked on casually.

This Jack has quite the generous offer, but he somewhat underestimated Bai Xiaosheng.

Bai Xiaosheng gave Jack and Hannah a slight smile, appearing as though there was potential in this transaction.

Jack immediately smiled, wanting to continue speaking, but heard Bai Xiaosheng say, ”Please move aside, I’m leaving.”

Assuming there was potential in the deal, the smile on Jack’s face froze upon hearing this.
