Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2210: Chapter 1683: A Shocking Presence

The head of the Taylor Clan walked out of the business room with Ye Liena. Outside, Melanie, Xiya, Lin Weiwei, and Lei Ying were waiting. As soon as they saw them come out, they surrounded them.

”Why so soon? What did Miss Caroline say?” Melanie pulled Ye Liena aside and urgently asked in a low voice.

Since Miss Caroline left Ye Liena to handle the matter, Melanie was more concerned about whether Miss Caroline was angry and disappointed with them rather than the result.

Melanie had also considered the possible outcomes while she waited outside.

Miss Caroline would not easily give up the advanced technology of the Taylor Clan. After all, she had been planning this for a long time with significant investment, even personally handling much of it herself. How could she just change her mind because of a Bai Xiaosheng?

Yes, Bai Xiaosheng was the Executive President of the Greater China Region, an esteemed position, but Miss Caroline was still the Chief Executive!

Higher than him by one level!

Moreover, could the Chief Executive stationed at headquarters be the same as those in the North America Region?

Melanie, with her innate pride as a local, believed that the Chief Executive of the North America Region was of higher status than those from other regions!

What qualification did Bai Xiaosheng have to make Miss Caroline concede?

However, Melanie thought again and realized that since Bai Xiaosheng was an area’s Executive President, he would have to be given face. Besides, Miss Caroline seemed intent on discussing cooperation between the two regions with him and would consider his position somewhat.

Therefore, Melanie believed that today’s matter would likely be postponed. At most, Miss Caroline would lightly instruct Ye Liena to consider the opinion of that Bai person for the final resolution.

And that would already be giving a lot of face!

That was why Melanie asked what Miss Caroline had said instead of the final result when Ye Liena came out.

Meanwhile, Taylor was pulled to the side by Xiya and others, also being urgently questioned.

The resolution of today’s matter was extremely important to both parties.

Ye Liena glanced at Taylor’s side before lowering her voice and quickly telling Melanie, ”Miss Caroline has already made the final decision!”

Melanie didn’t want to hear this and immediately said, ”I know, it must be ’temporarily shelve it, discuss it another day’, right?”

What Melanie said was full of confidence and certainty.

”No!” Ye Liena firmly denied it.

”No?” Melanie was stunned, murmuring, ”You came out so quickly, and it’s not to discuss later? Could it be that Miss Caroline didn’t give face to that Bai Xiaosheng!”

Melanie said this with some admiration.

Miss Caroline indeed acted with such domineering power, fearlessly dismissing Bai Xiaosheng, the Executive President of the Greater China Region, as an insignificant bug!

What if she didn’t give him face!

”No!” Ye Liena denied again.

”Not that either?” Melanie was taken aback.

From a distance, Xiya suddenly let out a gasp of surprise, her voice filled with astonishment and delight.

This made Melanie unable to resist glancing back, and Ye Liena also looked that way.

Believing that the result had already been communicated to Xiya by Taylor, Ye Liena needed to be quick, knowing she still had to wrap things up shortly.

Not wanting to keep any suspense, Ye Liena directly told Melanie, ”Miss Caroline agreed to terminate the contract with the Taylor Clan with a breach penalty.”

”What!” Melanie nearly jumped up.

How could this be!

Miss Caroline had been planning for so long, would she just give up?

This didn’t align with her style at all!

Seeing Taylor looking over, Ye Liena knew she couldn’t delay any longer and urgently said to Melanie, ”Do you know who that Bai Xiaosheng is! Our information is too closed. We only know he is the Executive President over the Greater China Region. However, he is not only the Executive President of the Greater China Region; he holds other authority as well!”

Melanie was puzzled, her eyes filled with confusion.

Ye Liena couldn’t help but lower her voice, filled with awe, ”His additional authority comes from the headquarters’ mysterious oversight department. I’m sure you’ve heard of them!”

Melanie’s eyes involuntarily widened with shock.

The oversight department at headquarters! Of course, she had heard of it—they were mysterious and powerful!

Even Miss Caroline would become serious whenever she mentioned them.

Unexpectedly, Bai Xiaosheng was actually a part of that department!

”But there’s no official announcement from the group,” Melanie couldn’t help but murmur.

She felt this truth was like a dream, somewhat surreal.

Logically, people from the headquarters’ oversight department shouldn’t hold high positions locally, should they?

Ye Liena said softly, ”Perhaps Mr. Bai is here to report this time! Anyone entering that department might even have their career information in the group’s records disappear. You still expect to see an announcement? What are you thinking! Do you expect them to announce themselves when they come to investigate your company?”

With that, Melanie had nothing to say.

”Not only that, but do you know his exact role in that department?!” Ye Liena added, her eyes clearly lighting up as if filled with admiration.

Melanie looked at her in surprise. The last time she saw such a look in Ye Liena’s eyes, it was because of Miss Caroline.

Before Melanie could ask, Taylor called out from afar, ”Miss Ye Liena, shall we leave?”

”Yes.” Ye Liena immediately responded with a smile to Taylor, becoming much more courteous to him because of Bai Xiaosheng.

After all, Taylor had managed to enlist Bai Xiaosheng’s help!

Just for that, Ye Liena was immensely impressed.

”That Mr. Bai Xiaosheng is the second-in-command in the headquarters’ oversight department, a deputy chief!” Ye Liena quickly told Melanie, ”He could even initiate an impeachment against Miss Caroline, forcing her to undergo an investigation!”

Ye Liena’s words left Melanie stunned and speechless.

Bai Xiaosheng was that powerful!

This is...

Previously, they dared to confront him so boldly. Wasn’t this like a deer posing arrogantly in front of a lion, courting doom?

Melanie was left utterly dumbfounded.

Ye Liena didn’t have time to indulge in the shock any longer. She left Melanie there with a smile, heading towards Taylor.

Next, they still had contract matters to deal with.

Melanie stood there blankly, watching as Ye Liena and the head of the Taylor Clan left. She glanced over and saw that Xiya had a similar expression—unbelieving, as if this were all a dream.

However, the difference was Xiya’s face was filled with joy, her mouth unable to stop smiling...

Melanie immediately followed Ye Liena, too embarrassed to linger any longer.

Meanwhile, those inside the business room were unaware of what transpired outside.

At this moment, Bai Xiaosheng was holding the draft contract that Miss Caroline had given him.

The contract was a thick stack, involving multiple stages, dozens of industries, and hundreds of companies. Extremely comprehensive.

Bai Xiaosheng read quickly, scanning only the core parts. He skimmed through each page rapidly and set them aside without a ripple in his calm expression.

Caroline watched him with a smile.

For someone like her, this document would take over an hour to thoroughly read. The brief time spent with a group of assistants correcting the text was because she had previously gone through it countless times, well-versed in every aspect.

Bai Xiaosheng, seeing it for the first time, yet reading so quickly, must only be getting an impression, Caroline thought.

In her view, Bai Xiaosheng was glancing through it out of a sense of obligation and would inevitably sign smoothly.

If he signed without hesitation, she might forgive him somewhat. When Vice Chairman Morgan takes action against him, she could act together with him instead of targeting him in advance.

Caroline was musing when Bai Xiaosheng put down the documents, having browsed through them all.

”What does Mr. Bai think, is it ready to sign?” Caroline asked with a smile.

Bai Xiaosheng opened his eyes, smiling at her.

Just when Caroline thought everything was fine.

Bai Xiaosheng, seemingly joking, said, ”You want me to sign this contract; I’m afraid I can’t do that, brother!”
