Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2209: Chapter 1682: Showing Respect

Ye Liena was harshly reprimanded by Caroline in front of Bai Xiaosheng and Taylor, yet she did not feel dejected or embarrassed at all, because she was utterly shocked by the power Bai Xiaosheng held!

Miss Caroline naturally wouldn’t lie, nor did she have any need to exaggerate in front of outsiders to elevate someone whose rank was below hers.

This is the undeniable truth!

Ye Liena watched Bai Xiaosheng smile throughout. Even now, there was no sign of pride or arrogance, shaking her to the core more than hearing about Bai Xiaosheng’s power.

How did this man reach such a level at such a young age!

Why can he maintain a calm state of mind to this extent!

Now, Ye Liena finally understood why when they came, Bai Xiaosheng stayed composed and steady where he was, and why when Miss Caroline came, he didn’t feel the need to greet.

It’s not arrogance, not pride, because he has that confidence!

Turns out, was it my vision that was too narrow...

Ye Liena felt a slight suffocation, took a deep breath, her red lips slightly parted, slowly exhaling a breath of turbid air.

Always priding herself as a prodigy, feeling she would be the next Caroline, Ye Liena, for the first time, felt a sense of inaccessibility toward her peer, yet strangely she also felt a vague thrill.

Someone like her, who is infatuated with the corporate world, feels an uncontrollable attraction when facing strong individuals.

Not only Ye Liena, Taylor beside her was also looking at Bai Xiaosheng with surprise.

Originally, knowing from his daughter Xiya that Bai Xiaosheng was the Executive President of Zhenbei Group’s Greater China Region was already surprising enough.

Now, Bai Xiaosheng’s power even exceeds Caroline’s!

This made him even more incredulous.

Taylor’s eyes were filled with respectful admiration for Bai Xiaosheng.

To follow such a remarkable young man, he felt utterly joyful and happy.

Although becoming someone else’s ”employee” seemed to lower his stature, it could bring unprecedented opportunities to the Taylor Clan!

After all, this young man has an infinitely aspirational future!

Even Taylor felt that even if Bai Xiaosheng were not in Zhenbei Group, losing his current power and position, his personal potential would still be unparalleled!

At this moment, Caroline glanced at Ye Liena, seeing her staring foolishly at Bai Xiaosheng, immediately felt a bit annoyed, frowned, ”What are you daydreaming about!”

Ye Liena suddenly snapped back to reality, seeing Caroline was unhappy, immediately lowered her head, in a posture of submission and acknowledgment of fault.

Caroline snorted lightly, ”Now you know, right? Once Mr. Bai appears, you all have no other choice!”

This sentence, though not wrong, somewhat felt bizarre to hear.

It was purely something Caroline said deliberately.

Caroline glanced at Bai Xiaosheng again, smiled leisurely, ”If he thinks there’s a problem with the enterprise under your jurisdiction, whether internal or external cooperation, he has the right to intervene! Even I don’t have the right to resist or oppose!”

Caroline reiterated Bai Xiaosheng’s powerful authority.

She’s right, but there’s a premise—Bai Xiaosheng really doesn’t spare any face and forcefully exercises his power.

Ye Liena and Taylor were once again shocked by Bai Xiaosheng’s scope of authority.

”Miss Caroline overstates the matter. Actually, BL Technology does have some issues, but nothing as severe as you mentioned! So, I didn’t follow procedure but mediated instead. Clan Leader Taylor also agreed to pay the maximum penalty fee to satisfy BL Technology. Isn’t that great, everyone is happy.” Bai Xiaosheng said with a smile.

Caroline’s claim that she couldn’t stop this matter was true, because BL Technology was suspected of unfair competition, which, although minor, could impact the group’s reputation, so Bai Xiaosheng had grounds to handle it.

However, if things can avoid becoming so tense, it’d be best.

And Caroline had her own considerations for saying so.

With Bai Xiaosheng’s involvement, the Taylor Family’s new graphene battery technology couldn’t flow through BL Technology to the Caroline Family, as the possibility of under-the-table dealings was gone.

Caroline now decided to abandon this scheme, no matter how much time and effort it cost her over the years.

The reason she emphasized Bai Xiaosheng’s authority so strongly was to retain some dignity in front of Ye Liena and Melanie, as well as to let Bai Xiaosheng know she made yet another concession, so he should ”repay” her in their cooperation later.

Seeing Bai Xiaosheng speaking up, Caroline took advantage of the situation and addressed Ye Liena, ”Aren’t you going to thank Mr. Bai for not holding you accountable and helping you secure benefits.”

Upon hearing this, Ye Liena hurriedly thanked Bai Xiaosheng, ”Thank you, Mr. Bai!”

Seeing this capable beautiful manager being so respectful, Bai Xiaosheng couldn’t help but feel a bit embarrassed, paused, and then smiled, ”You overpraise.”

”Clan Leader Taylor, could you go with Lady Ye Liena to handle the paperwork? I need to use this business room to discuss some matters with Miss Caroline.” Bai Xiaosheng took the opportunity to tell Taylor with a smile.

To avoid prolonged uncertainty, it’s best to finish early.

Taylor nodded quickly, smiling, ”Alright, I’ll go with Lady Ye Liena to finalize the contract, so as not to disturb you two.”

With that, Taylor gestured invitingly to Ye Liena, asking her to leave together.

Ye Liena respectfully saluted Bai Xiaosheng and Caroline before leaving with Taylor.

Once the two left and closed the door, only Bai Xiaosheng and Caroline remained in the room.

”Thank you, Miss Caroline, for giving me this face.” Bai Xiaosheng smiled, gesturing invitingly toward the sofa for Caroline.

”Haha, how could I dare not give you face, Mr. Bai? Even I am under your supervision!” Caroline walked over, saying as she walked, ”Besides, this isn’t about face, it’s about... official business!”

Caroline’s words still carried traces of emotion.

Bai Xiaosheng understood.

The moment he identified Caroline’s involvement, Bai Xiaosheng knew what she was seeking, having planned for so long, breaking it so abruptly would naturally leave some resentment no matter how deep one’s scheming or how good the pretense is, something would show through.

”Anyway, the matters are resolved, no need to mention it further, Mr. Bai. Now let’s talk about our cooperation. There are vast prospects for cooperation between the Greater China Region and North America.” Caroline said as she sat down, smiling.

Her spirits seemed lifted, as if her previous emotions had completely vanished.

Bai Xiaosheng walked over, sat across from her and smiled, ”Indeed, our cooperation is the key; even the Caroline Family can be involved, and I’ll certainly offer the highest extent of advantages.”

Not only is Bai Xiaosheng the deputy head of the headquarters’ oversight department, but he is also the Executive President of the Greater China Region, with the authority to coordinate enterprises under his jurisdiction with external enterprises and groups, offering varying degrees of benefits.

Caroline, hearing Bai Xiaosheng’s words, was immediately pleased, smiled, and handed a stack of printed documents from her handbag to Bai Xiaosheng.

”Mr. Bai must be busy, so I prepared the contract in advance. Have a look, if it’s all good, sign it as is!”
