Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2208: Chapter 1681: Who Is it That Oversteps Their Bounds?

To Ye Liena and Melanie, Caroline was the queen, a sovereign who controlled their future and destiny.

The two women were nearing forty, and reaching their current positions was no easy feat. Seeing their careers poised for even greater heights, they were particularly cautious.

They held deep reverence and fear for Caroline’s arrival, dreading even the slightest displeasure or misunderstanding from her.

At this moment, Caroline frowned and questioned why they were there. Ye Liena and Melanie’s hearts trembled.

”Miss Caroline, we were discussing the contract with Mr. Taylor; it was their invitation. We didn’t know who else would be here before we came!” Ye Liena hurriedly explained, fearing any delay might cause misunderstanding.

Melanie quickly added, ”Yes, we didn’t expect Mr. Bai Xiaosheng, the Executive President of the Greater China Region, to be here either!”

The two were now in trepidation at Caroline’s every reaction.

Caroline’s expression returned to its usual calm, and she simply uttered an ”oh” before smiling and walking in.

”Miss Caroline, a pleasure to meet you!” Clan Leader Taylor promptly stepped forward, greeting with a smile.

”A pleasure, Clan Leader Taylor!” Caroline responded gracefully, smiling radiantly.

Bai Xiaosheng now stood up and smiled, ”Just now, we were talking about welcoming Miss Caroline, didn’t expect you to come so quickly.”

”Indeed, I seem to have come at an inopportune time,” Caroline smiled at Bai Xiaosheng, her words bearing a hint of deeper meaning.

Bai Xiaosheng hadn’t mentioned to her that Ye Liena and Melanie were part of this business negotiation.

Otherwise, Caroline wouldn’t have been so surprised.

Was this intentional?

Caroline shot him a deep glance.

Ye Liena’s BL Technology’s attack on the Taylor Clan was a plot orchestrated personally by Caroline, supported by her multi-faceted coordination.

By this time, enough time had passed, and Caroline believed the Taylor Clan had reached the end of their rope.

Thus, Melanie was sent by her to assist Ye Liena in wrapping up this matter.

Seeing it about to bear fruit, Bai Xiaosheng suddenly barging in, what was the situation here? What was the point?

Was it deliberate or accidental?

The crucial question was, did Bai Xiaosheng have a deeper intent with his actions?

Caroline wasn’t an ordinary person; her mind was as sharp as a knife.

She quickly associated Bai Xiaosheng’s arrival at Ganande with causing numerous troubles for her!

Among these, ruining her campaign presentation and plunging her into a dire predicament was the most unforgivable!

Could all these happenings truly be mere coincidences, with no underlying conspiracy?

Caroline knew very well that she and Vice Chairman Morgan were long aligned, often causing problems for old-timers Lu Cheng’an and Li Yunyuan of Huaxia. And this Bai Xiaosheng was very close to them. According to Vice Chairman Morgan, Lu Cheng’an and Li Yunyuan held Bai Xiaosheng in high regard! So, could Bai Xiaosheng have been scheming against her all along?

Caroline’s eyes grew slightly cold, but she quickly regained her composure.

Concealing internal emotions was a skill she was well-versed in because of her position.

Facing such an opponent, Bai Xiaosheng’s skill in micro-expression analysis would be significantly hindered.

However, Bai Xiaosheng still noticed Caroline’s fleeting unusual emotion. He promptly said, ”Miss Caroline, we’ve discussed almost everything here; your timing is perfect, a coincidence.”

A coincidence, rather than just in time.

Caroline responded to this subtle choice of words with a faint smile.

Clan Leader Taylor quickly added, ”Since Mr. Bai and Miss Caroline have matters to discuss, perhaps we should step aside?”

In Taylor’s view, whatever Bai Xiaosheng and Caroline were discussing should be major internal affairs of their group, unsuitable for outsiders to overhear.

”Yes, yes,” Ye Liena and Melanie hurriedly concurred.

Even though they were part of the group, their level and status couldn’t compare to Bai Xiaosheng and Caroline, making it inappropriate to eavesdrop.

”I sensed from your earlier words, it seemed like you weren’t quite finished your discussions yet?” Caroline smiled and asked Bai Xiaosheng.

Bai Xiaosheng replied with a smile, ”We were just a tiny bit short.”

”Since I’m already here, let’s not leave that tiny bit unfinished,” Caroline responded with a smile, ”You and I, along with Clan Leader Taylor and Ye Liena, can wrap up this matter quite nicely.”

”As for everyone else,” Caroline turned her head and looked at Xiya, Lin Weiwei, Lei Ying, and kindly said, ”Would you mind waiting outside for a moment?”

Xiya, Lin Weiwei, Lei Ying, and even Melanie nodded immediately and walked out in turn.

Melanie, being the last to leave, even closed the door behind her.

Right now, in this room, there isn’t a single idle person.

Caroline smiled and said, ”I’m actually quite aware of the matters between BL Technology and the Taylor Family. I just haven’t gotten involved. It’s good that there’s a resolution now. To what stage have your discussions progressed?”

Caroline directed her last question to Ye Liena.

Ye Liena didn’t dare delay and quickly whispered, ”Mr. Taylor wants to terminate the contract with a penalty fee, which was the funding brought in by Mr. Bai Xiaosheng.”

”Oh?” Caroline responded, smiling as she glanced at Taylor and then looked at Bai Xiaosheng.

”Mr. Bai said he was here to discuss cooperation. I thought perhaps the Greater China Region was negotiating with someone, and I wanted to help if I could. But it turns out you are concerned about matters between our enterprise and the Taylor Family. Surely, you wouldn’t be advocating on behalf of our company; we couldn’t possibly afford your services. By the way, Mr. Bai, what is your relationship with the Taylor Family?”

Although Caroline spoke with a smile, Ye Liena and the Taylor Clan Leader couldn’t help but feel a slight chill.

Bai Xiaosheng maintained his composure, smiling as he said, ”Miss Caroline, as you know, I was severely taken advantage of by Landvo in the South America Region. By heaven’s grace and with some help from friends, I managed to get out of trouble and owed a great debt. I taught over seventy or eighty hours of classes at a special academy in South America and gained a lot of students. Mr. Taylor’s daughter, Xiya, was one of them. On this trip to Ganande, it was a fortunate encounter, and during my visit to the Taylor Family, Mr. Taylor and I had quite a pleasant conversation. When I learned that the Taylor Family encountered some minor troubles, I thought to come over and see if I could help. To my surprise, I happened to meet with a company under our Group, what a coincidence! So, I’ve been mediating ever since.”

Ye Liena couldn’t help but secretly observe Bai Xiaosheng.

He says things nicely!

But you couldn’t interpret them literally!

Bai Xiaosheng recounted the story, smiling as he assured, ”Miss Caroline, rest assured, I would never let our Group’s company suffer losses. Mr. Taylor wishes to breach the contract, so I’ll make sure they pay the highest penalty. I’m confident that this result will satisfy you. After all, you’re currently preoccupied with campaign matters and might not have the time to deal with such trivial issues. If such matters distracted you or let outsiders gossip, affecting the campaign, it would truly be a losing proposition!”

Bai Xiaosheng had already said everything, and Ye Liena was even more aggrieved.

Though her position was below Bai Xiaosheng, Bai Xiaosheng was still under Miss Caroline. Was he going to be allowed to end it all with just a word?

Ye Liena gritted her teeth in anger.

Ye Liena summoned her courage, relying on Caroline’s presence, and, after Bai Xiaosheng finished speaking, immediately said, ”Mr. Bai, ending the contract with a penalty is just Mr. Taylor’s wishful thinking. We don’t accept it. And, what’s your intention, mentioning the campaign influence—is that a threat to Miss Caroline! Don’t forget, you are merely an executive president, while Miss Caroline is the business president! Isn’t it overstepping for you to meddle in our North American Region affairs?”

Ye Liena seemed to have an intention to show Bai Xiaosheng up in front of Caroline, ”You are acting insubordinately! According to protocol, you have no right to intervene in this matter!”

Ye Liena spoke very bluntly.

Beside her, Taylor felt his heart tighten.

He hadn’t expected the first to tear the face would be Ye Liena.

What would this mean for Bai Xiaosheng’s exit!

Taylor glanced at Bai Xiaosheng nervously and then at Caroline.

Bai Xiaosheng looked at Ye Liena and calmly asked, ”Miss Ye Liena, do you think I shouldn’t be involved in this matter?”

”You shouldn’t!”

Having spoken, Ye Liena was emboldened.

Bai Xiaosheng smiled without speaking.

Ye Liena thought he was scared and couldn’t help but press on, ”You need to first understand your identity! Matters in our North American Region are beyond your jurisdiction!”

Ye Liena felt immense satisfaction at this point!

Just now, Bai Xiaosheng had used his status and power to pressure her and Melanie. Now she wanted to let this man taste what that felt like!

Seeing Bai Xiaosheng’s silence, Ye Liena was immediately pleased.

Suddenly, there came a stern reprimand, ”Ye Liena, you’re out of line!”

The one who spoke was none other than Caroline.

Ye Liena was immediately taken aback and looked at Caroline.

Caroline, with a stern gaze, looked at Ye Liena, angrily saying, ”How dare you question Mr. Bai Xiaosheng, the Deputy Director of our Zhenbei Group Headquarters’ Monitoring Department!”

”Not to mention he has the right to intervene in this matter! Even if he found fault with you and dismissed you, he wouldn’t need my approval!”

Caroline’s words left Ye Liena astonished.

Could Bai Xiaosheng have such authority?!

Caroline looked at Bai Xiaosheng, her gaze inscrutable, ”Even for me, he has the power to initiate a direct impeachment!”

These words left Ye Liena in shock.

She looked at Bai Xiaosheng, her eyes filled with fear.

Wasn’t Bai Xiaosheng merely the Executive President of the Greater China Region? How could he wield such power?

Even having the ability to directly impeach Miss Caroline?!
