Holding Their Own Space, the Family Returns to the Apocalypse

192: What? Underground? You buried him?Ai Yue searched bit by bit in the vicinity for the Seed Bank she had discovered long ago.

After an unknown amount of time, Ai Yue finally found the entrance and slipped into the long corridor.

The Seed Bank had mostly collapsed due to the Nameless Monster’s rampage; only the deepest part where the seeds were stored hadn’t collapsed yet, but it was also teetering, and a total collapse was only a matter of time.

Ai Yue used the Earth Evasion Technique to travel through the soil-filled corridor and soon reached the very bottom of the Seed Bank.

Sure enough, Ai Yue found the escape pod here.

The entire escape pod had entered lockdown mode, cutting off all contact with the outside.

Fortunately, there was enough oxygen, food, and water inside the escape pod, so Ai Yue wasn’t worried they would die in there.

Although they suffered the greatest impact because they were too close to the monster and injuries were inevitable, fortunately Li Shilan was there, so they wouldn’t be in serious trouble.

Although Ai Yue was anxious, she still had a sliver of confidence in the escape pod; she firmly believed it could carry her parents and the others through this disaster.

Seeing the intact escape pod now, Ai Yue breathed a secret sigh of relief.

She didn’t rush to open the escape pod.

It had collapsed here and the air was thin; it wasn’t a good time to come out.

With a surge of strength, Ai Yue lifted the escape pod and slipped into the earth, heading towards the surface.

The escape pod was too heavy; even though Ai Yue was a Strongman, it was still somewhat difficult at this moment.

However, she gritted her teeth, her eyes determined, and her trembling hands held onto it tightly. Just as she exhausted her last ounce of strength, she finally broke through the surface.

Back on the ground, Ai Yue collapsed in relief.

The escape pod also hit the ground with a loud thud.

At this moment, the people inside the escape pod were bewildered, thinking the earth had begun to collapse again and they were being taken deeper.

Among the five people, only the couple Ai Guosheng and his wife, as well as Ye Rui, looked calm.

They firmly believed that Ai Yue would definitely come to save them.

Until then, they just needed to protect themselves and avoid any unnecessary trouble.

However, on the day the disaster occurred, Mo Li, who had been following Ye Rui around, was also brought into the escape pod.

When heaven and earth were rending outside, Mo Li was constantly grateful for his lack of focus on his proper duties.

Because when the others wanted to return to the base, he had volunteered to be a supervisor at Nameless Mountain.

But he didn’t actually intend to be a supervisor; after entrusting the affairs to experienced people, he had been pestering Ye Rui.

When it was calm outside, Mo Li suggested leaving the escape pod, but Ai Guosheng sternly refused.

Having experienced a brush with death, Mo Li could no longer suppress the hostility he had been holding back. His entire being was uncontrollably consumed by hostility, his eyes were bloodshot, and he shouted, insisting on opening the escape pod to go out.

Seeing that he couldn’t be persuaded, Ye Rui got very angry and roared, ”Mo Li, what are you doing? Now is not a good time to go out, sit down immediately!”

Mo Li was stunned by her roar and his movements stopped, but he still hesitated. Seeing that Mo Li hadn’t completely given up the idea of opening the escape pod...

Ye Rui’s gaze turned sharp, she flicked her fingers, and without hesitation, she struck him with a bolt of blue lightning. Mo Li instantly snapped out of it from the shock.

Touching his charred hair, he said pitifully, ”Just say the word, and I’ll listen to you. Why did you have to strike me?”

”Shut up! Sit down and behave!” Ye Rui raised an eyebrow and said crossly.

After being struck, Mo Li was completely clear-headed and didn’t dare to resist anymore. He smoothed his few remaining hairs and curled up in his seat aggrievedly, no longer speaking.

Ye Rui was very angry at his behavior; for the next few days, she ignored him completely.

Mo Li was also helpless; after all, before the Apocalypse, he was a triad boss in Southeast Asia, naturally full of hostility. Ever since he met her, he had completely turned over a new leaf, trying hard to suppress the hostility that popped up from time to time, becoming a nice guy who always had a smile for everyone.

Who knew this accident would completely trigger his long-suppressed hostility? If it weren’t for Ye Rui, he definitely wouldn’t have been able to control his actions and would have fought with the others.

Later, the group spent two days quietly and obediently in the escape pod until there was movement again.

They couldn’t tell if it was caused by a collapse or a sinkhole, so they didn’t dare to act rashly.

Ai Yue rested for a moment and immediately tapped the secret code she had agreed upon with her parents on the escape pod.

Hearing the movement, the people inside the pod became excited.

”It’s Yueyue!”

”Sister Ai Yue!”

Ai Guosheng, his wife, and Ye Rui got excited.

Ai Guosheng immediately unbuckled his seatbelt and opened the hatch.

Sure enough, the one who came into view was Ai Yue.

With tears in her eyes, Li Shilan hugged Ai Yue tightly. Seeing that Ai Yue was safe and sound, her worried heart finally settled down.

Although she knew Ai Yue’s capabilities—that even if everyone in the world died, the last person left alive would definitely be Ai Yue...

As a mother, she still worried about Ai Yue while the situation outside was unknown.

”Mom, I’m fine. How are you guys? Are you hurt?” Ai Yue patted her mother’s back and comforted her.

”We’re all fine. Look, not a single scratch. Thanks to the escape pod, we’re safe and sound,” Li Shilan said with a smile.

Gong Qiumu, who had been looking around for something since coming out, asked Ai Yue anxiously with a sob in his voice, ”Sister Ai Yue, where’s my brother? Why don’t I see him? Could he have...”

”No, no, he’s fine!” Ai Yue said quickly.

”Then, then where is he?”

”He’s underground.”

”What? Underground? You buried him?” Gong Qiumu looked on in disbelief.

”What are you talking about? I said he’s fine, staying in a safe place. Don’t worry, I’m going to save him right now and bring him back in one piece!” Ai Yue explained, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.

”Not just in one piece, but breathing too!” Gong Qiumu said with teary eyes... ”Understood!”

After settling the others, Ai Yue took an oxygen tank from the escape pod, went to the place she had marked, and used the Earth Evasion Technique to disappear from the surface.

By now, a day and a half had passed since she left Gong Qiu. Ai Yue followed the direction in her memory and successfully reached that cavern.

Fortunately, Gong Qiuqiu was still there, and nothing had happened, except he had fainted while leaning against the stone wall.

Ai Yue checked him and found he had just fainted from hunger, which finally put her mind at ease.

Ai Yue took out a few pieces of chocolate from her space, melted them in hot water, and poured them down his throat, then gave him a few more gulps of water before stopping.

Without waiting for him to wake up, she put an oxygen tank on him and dragged him into the stone wall.

After ten minutes, Ai Yue returned to the surface with the unconscious Gong Qiuqiu.

”Brother, what’s wrong with you?” As soon as they came up, they found Gong Qiumu waiting there. Seeing the motionless Gong Qiuqiu, Gong Qiumu hugged him in shock.
