Holding Their Own Space, the Family Returns to the Apocalypse

170: We must strike! We must strike! We must crush their arrogance!Ai Yue spent a period of comfortable days at home.

She didn’t need to stay vigilant every day or avoid various dangers, allowing her mind and body to receive great Healing and relief.

”Sister Ai Yue, I want to go out and play too.” Ye Rui had been following Ai Yue like a little shadow these past few days.

She constantly tried to brainwash Ai Yue, demanding that she must bring her along next time she went out.

Ai Yue poked Ye Rui’s forehead. ”Oh, you. It’s impossible these days. Outside, it’s all ruins and debris; the whole world looks like it’s been turned upside down. There’s really nothing fun about it, and most importantly, it’s too dangerous!”

Ye Rui rested her small head on Ai Yue’s shoulder, rubbing against her and whining, ”I meant later, of course! Bring me next time you go out.”

Ai Yue, unable to resist her pestering, could only nod in reluctant agreement.

”Oh yeah!” Having finally received Ai Yue’s agreement, Ye Rui was incredibly excited. Although she didn’t know when she could actually go out, she was happy nonetheless.

During the time Ai Yue was away, Ye Rui and Da Wang had searched the entire mountaintop thoroughly but couldn’t find anything interesting, so she especially wanted to follow Ai Yue and explore the outside world.

Suddenly, a long tiger roar echoed from the mountaintop.

Both Ai Yue and Ye Rui’s expressions changed. That was Da Wang’s voice—something was happening.

With a thought, five drones appeared in Ai Yue’s hand, and Ye Rui helped Ai Yue operate them.

Soon, all the drones ascended high into the sky and scattered in four directions.

In just three minutes, the drones transmitted useful footage.

The footage showed many people dressed in black, carrying guns, climbing the mountain in an orderly fashion.

As she watched, Ye Rui gasped, ”Brother Mo Li?”

Ai Yue followed Ye Rui’s gaze and saw a group of people walking at the very back, carefully observing the entire mountain.

”What a small world!” After recognizing the group, Ai Yue couldn’t help but feel speechless.

Every person in this group was familiar; it was Gu Xiheng and his companions.

The group included Mo Li, Yan Li, the two young ladies Cheng Siyu and Gu Xitian, and surprisingly, the erratic Gong Qiumu.

They were also holding weapons in their hands, walking step by step toward the mountain.

”Sister Ai Yue, why are they here? And why are they bringing so many people?” Ye Rui asked, worried.

Ai Yue thought for a moment and quickly deduced the reason.

It was because Nameless Mountain was too unique. During all the natural disasters, only this mountain was never affected. Especially during the Plague of Insects, the Alien Insects dared not approach it, and it remained intact during the earthquake, which finally drew attention.

Since they had also discovered the mountain’s uniqueness, they naturally wanted to claim it for themselves.

Ai Yue’s heart sank, and she said in a serious tone, ”Our trouble has arrived!”

”Will they try to seize it by force?” Ye Rui asked quietly.

”If we don’t give it up, they will seize it by force!” Ai Yue stood up and added, ”Let’s go meet them.”

The two of them continuously used the drones to monitor them and then met up with Ai Guosheng and his wife.

Li Shilan, holding Da Wang in her arms, looked eager to try. ”Yueyue, should we beat them back?”

Before Ai Yue could speak, Ye Rui cried out, ”Ah, the drones!”

”They shot down two drones!”

Ai Yue felt angry when she heard this. She only had five drones, and now only three were left.

”Bring the rest back!”

”Okay, Sis!”

Ye Rui immediately controlled the remaining three drones to flee.

”They dare to destroy our property the moment they arrive. It seems their stance is very aggressive. If that’s the case, we can’t be weak either. Fight! We must fight! We must extinguish their arrogant flames so that we retain the right to speak later!”

Ai Yue narrowed her eyes and said fiercely.

Hearing Ai Yue’s decision, the others showed no fear; instead, they were faintly excited.

”It’s been so long since I’ve fought, my hands are rusty. This time I need to properly stretch these lazy bones of mine!” Ai Guosheng said excitedly.

Ai Yue gave her dad a cold look. ”Dad, you can’t strike. If you strike, won’t everyone kick the bucket? The Safety Tower sheltered us for so long; we can’t kill them. Just torment them a bit and teach them a lesson!”

”That’s right, we can’t be ungrateful. This time, just beat them back, don’t take any lives,” Li Shilan agreed, nodding.

”Uh... fine, alright. Then I’ll focus on protecting your mother. I’ll leave the task of beating them back to you two. But if either of you is threatened, I won’t hold back anymore!”

Ai Guosheng instructed them reluctantly.

”Okay, we’ll listen to you!” After speaking, Ai Yue quickly took Ye Rui and ran down the mountain.

They reached the inevitable path that Gu Xiheng and the others would take, and the two of them set up an ambush before the group arrived.

Ye Rui twisted her fingers, and a faint electric arc jumped between them. ”Sis, how about we fry them? I promise I won’t electrocute them to death.”

Ai Yue nodded and whispered, ”Good. You handle the electricity, and I’ll control the earth. Once I pull them into the ground, you release the lightning. Aim carefully, don’t strike the surrounding trees!”

After hearing Ai Yue’s plan, Ye Rui was excited and impatient.

They didn’t have to wait long. Ten minutes later, Gu Xiheng’s vanguard unit arrived right in front of them.

Once everyone entered Ai Yue’s attack range, Ai Yue placed her hands on the ground. A wave of energy surged, and most of the opposing group was successfully pulled into the earth by Ai Yue.

Because there were so many people, Ai Yue could only pull them into the ground up to their chests.

Although these people were suddenly attacked, they reacted quickly, immediately deploying their Superpowers, trying to burst out of the ground.

Now that they were trapped, how could Ai Yue let them escape so easily?

She increased her energy, firmly holding the people underground, making them unable to move.

The survivors quickly retreated. They didn’t understand how any of this had happened, and without understanding the cause, they wouldn’t easily rush in to save their comrades.

Those stuck underground realized they couldn’t get out and could only use their Superpowers to attack randomly in all directions.

Ai Yue and Ye Rui were quite far away, so they were safe. Ai Yue was happy to let them exhaust their Superpowers.

Ye Rui seized the opportunity, twisted her fingers, and continuous ”crackling” blue electric arcs rained down upon the people trapped and unable to move underground.

She muttered to herself, ”One pair, two pairs, three pairs... another one got fried. Oh my god, they’re so charred, even their mother wouldn’t recognize them... thirty-nine pairs...”

”Oops, did I hit that guy too hard? Why did his head hit the ground and stop moving?” Ye Rui was playing too excitedly and occasionally struck a bit heavily. ”Hmph, I know my limits. I definitely didn’t kill him. He must just be stunned by the shock; he’ll be fine in a moment.”

While Ye Rui was still muttering, Ai Yue saw that most of the people who had been shocked were still conscious, so she said, ”Rui Rui, increase the intensity! Knock them out!”

”Huh?” Ye Rui had previously been afraid of using too much force, but it seemed she hadn’t been ruthless enough. Ye Rui grinned. ”Got it!”
