Hogwarts: Even Voldemort Can't Stop Me From Studying

Chapter 644: Chapter 35: The Match in Progress (Part 1)

Vid flipped through the book and once again saw the illustration of the Killing Forest.

Black trees twisted and spread, casting curses, while the Dark Wizard appeared as a tiny speck on the image.

Thinking carefully, was his first dream really just an association from seeing this picture?

Closing his eyes to recall, the sound of rain, droplets splashing, the wizard’s smile, and the forest’s damp and decayed smell — all so vivid, real, specific.

The second dream... bodies everywhere, with one corpse hanging upside down on a banyan tree, bright red blood trickling down.

As for the third, amidst a desolate scene, there were broken pine trees.

In all three ominous dreams, there was a common element; surely that couldn’t be a coincidence.

Vid remembered what Sirius said:

”The Ministry of Magic will also seal all related information to prevent some fool from imitating.”

Imitating...

Even if he was overthinking... what if his guesses turned out true...

Vid pondered deeply, finally picked up the book, and walked out.

...

With a bang, the vendor with the trolley suddenly appeared, the cart filled with all sorts of strange and exotic goods: badges that shouted player names, flags that played national anthems, little figurines of sports stars that walked around, and various types of panoramic telescopes.

”Look! Krum!” Harry excitedly grabbed a figurine, turned to his friends, and said, ”He flies great, he’s the best Seeker in the world.”

Ron had already seen the semi-final on the Flow Mirror and was also a fan of Krum, immediately taking out pocket money to buy one, then drooled over the panoramic telescope.

”For you!” Harry bought one for him and said, ”Without this telescope, you’ll miss a lot of exciting scenes.”

”No.” Ron’s face was flushed: ”It’s too expensive.”

”Consider it an early Christmas gift!” Harry said with a smile.

Only then did Ron accept it calmly.

...

”Plop.”

Vid stepped into a puddle of mud, soft like glue; his expression stiffened, then he pulled his foot and shoe out of the mire.

”Be careful.” Antoine reached out and pulled him, saying, ”In some places in the forest, the ground looks normal but might actually have several meters deep pits underneath. You might fall in if you’re not careful.”

Delaine saw him struggling and frowned, saying, ”I remember in the book Mr. Grindelwald gave you, there’s a magic for wandless flight; you should take the time to learn it.”

”— Wandless flight Dark Magic,” Vid emphasized, ”In ’Rise and Fall of Black Magic,’ this silent flight magic is seen as Voldemort’s signature. Even if I know it, I wouldn’t use it casually.”

”It’s just us here, and you’ve taken Polyjuice Potion; are you really afraid of being discovered?” Antoine said.

”I have a simpler way.”

Vid reached into his pocket; with a pull, he took out a cloak dyed deep black, shook it, and it fell onto Vid’s shoulders, then lifted him lightly off the ground.

His feet weren’t entirely off the ground, just exerting pressure on it as lightly as a ball, gently stepping on it, and he could float a great distance.

The cloak could lift Vid off the ground, but Vid felt like doing so would lose mobility, preferring this convenient way.

He quickly widened the distance between himself and Antoine by tens of meters, then turned back and waved to signal them to follow.

Antoine watched Vid’s swift speed, ethereal figure, and ground-skimming advance; it seemed bizarre. Coupled with the waving gesture, Antoine instantly recalled many ghost stories he had heard before.

He turned to Delaine: ”Like this, that guy still dares to despise wandless flight as a Dark Wizard’s mark?”

Delaine also couldn’t help but smile.

...

To the sound of cheers and shouts, the stadium, with nearly ten thousand spectators, was almost filled to every seat.

Since the top floor suite had a better view, upon Harry’s invitation, SSC members, along with Ron and Ginny from the Weasley Family, followed him to the Sirius’ suite.

”Oh my, just a few of you occupy such a large suite?” Fred threw himself onto a seat, shaking his head and said, ”Had I known, I would have come days earlier.”

”Didn’t Mr. Weasley get tickets for a top-floor suite too?” Hermione asked curiously.

”Ah, don’t mention it.” George sat on the other side of Fred and said, ”Apart from us, that suite was full of Ministry of Magic officials, even Bulgaria’s Minister of Ministry of Magic, and the Malfoy family were there.”

”Percy loved it.” Ron grumbled, ”I think he could live there forever.”

Everyone burst into laughter.

Leian opened a bag: ”I brought drinks and snacks; anyone wants some?”

”Me.” Michael asked, ”Any Chocolate Frogs?”

”Of course.”

”By the way...” Theo glanced around and asked Harry, ”When will Vid arrive? And what about Mr. Blake and Mr. Lupin?”

”Sirius said he had something in the evening; Remus just ran into someone he knew, and he’ll be here later. Vid messaged me half an hour ago saying he didn’t want to watch the match.” Harry explained one by one.

”What?” Padma said in surprise, ”This is the World Cup Finals!”

”The semi-finals between Bulgaria and Egypt, Vid also went back to the tent to read.” Harry said, unconcerned, ”Although the view was indeed bad at the time... but for him, reading is way more interesting than Quidditch, right?”

”Well, that’s Vid’s style.” Michael said, ”Even at school, he usually doesn’t watch the matches.”

”Just don’t let my grandma hear that.” Neville shrank his neck and said, ”Otherwise, she’ll have something to say.”

Laughter echoed in the suite, as everyone shared snacks while waiting for the match to start. The atmosphere was exceptionally relaxed.

...

In the forest, massive spruce trees stood silently. Antoine lowered his Magic Wand and said lightly, ”Alright, no anomalies. Vid, it seems it’s really just your imagination.”

”I didn’t find any cursed trees on my end either.” Delaine approached from another direction, saying, ”Maybe your premonition dreams aren’t about this forest, or they might come true on some future day.”

”Or... dreams are just dreams.” Antoine looked back at the stadium looming large in the night and said, ”The match should only just be starting; we can still make it.”

Vid was speechless, looking up at the spruce before him, his pupils seemed to have golden patterns and glints.

Dense Magic Patterns like webs tightly bound the spruce; does this count as no anomalies?
