Hogwarts: Even Voldemort Can't Stop Me From Studying

Chapter 643: Chapter 34: Acting with Sirius (Part 3)

”The Dark Mark... it’s becoming more conspicuous... Lucius suspects that someone is coming back...”

”They say, after the match is over, they want to have some fun with those Muggles near the campsite... also... also to send someone a signal... if he really is still alive...”

”I don’t want... don’t want him to come back... When the Master was alive, he was becoming more and more brutal. If he comes back, he will definitely punish us... we’re all traitors...”

Gregory Goyle had no resistance to Veritaserum, he stuttered, and Sirius’ face became darker and darker.

He walked over, grabbed Goyle’s left sleeve, and stared hard at the mark on it.

It was a light red tattoo, with a skull spewing a snake, looking sinister, yet carrying a bizarre beauty.

Sirius looked coldly for a moment and asked, ”Who are the people preparing to act with you?”

After two seconds, Gregory Goyle muttered a string of names: ”Lucius, Crabbe, Noat, MacNeil...”

...

Half an hour later, Gregory Goyle fell asleep again, and to be safe, Sirius used a Forgetfulness Spell to ensure he wouldn’t say anything reckless after waking up.

The two used Disillusionment Charm again to go downstairs, and at the door, Vid saw his classmate Goyle seemingly accidentally set his robe on fire, screaming while frantically patting it. His mother ran out of the tent, tore the robe off with a ”rip” sound, and threw it away.

In the confusion, Vid and his companion left silently.

”This time, thanks to your careful observation, Vid.” Sirius said, looking down: ”Otherwise, if we see the Dark Mark hovering over the corpse, it will be too late to catch anyone.”

Vid knew that there would be no place for him in the subsequent actions, so he asked, ”How are you going to handle this matter?”

”This is a great opportunity.” Sirius flashed a dangerous smile: ”Thirteen years ago, they claimed to be under Imperio to avoid being thrown into Azkaban. If we catch them red-handed this time, such an excuse won’t fly.”

He gave Vid back his magic wand, told him to return to the tent first, and then left directly using Apparition.

Vid packed away the magic wand that had been little used, while recalling the plot of the original story, and returned to the tent.

Harry and Lupin were probably still with the Weasley family, and hadn’t returned, only Kreacher was diligently preparing lunch, with the smell of fried steak wafting in the kitchen.

Vid sat down, poured himself a cup of hot tea, and drank it in one go.

The Death Eaters want to cause trouble at the campsite, but that’s no longer possible, with any luck, these guys will be caught by the Ministry of Magic.

But Vid didn’t have much confidence in the Aurors’ ability to act; even members of the Order of Phoenix might not be able to stop the Death Eaters from escaping in time, unless Dumbledore himself takes action.

As he recalled, Lucius Malfoy and his accomplices were indeed imprisoned once—after they attacked the Ministry of Magic, Dumbledore took action to trap most of the Death Eaters, leaving them unable to resist or escape.

Though Vid had yet to see the headmaster at the campsite, he figured that after receiving Sirius’ contact, Dumbledore would probably make an appearance, wouldn’t he?

With matters resolved, Vid felt he should relax, but there was still a strong sense of unease in his heart.

He gently caressed the teacup, wondering: at the end of the day, what does the Death Eaters causing trouble at the campsite at midnight have to do with the dream I had?

On that night in the original story, no one died; in fact, now Malfoy and his crew are hiding their heads, even if they hide their appearance, they don’t have the courage to kill, they just want to create some moderate chaos.

Perhaps the encounters were very frightening for the Muggle Administrator’s family, but not too dangerous for most wizards. Young wizards like Harry’s group merely got a bit wet at the edge of the storm.

The worst outcome was that Barty Crouch Jr managed to escape taking advantage of the chaos.

Vid paused in his movements.

—Yes, in the original story, Barty would escape in this chaos.

But now, he has already escaped, returned to Voldemort, and even Gall Trocar and Lockhart have fallen into their hands.

Harry came to the campsite for the Quidditch World Cup, surrounded by wizards using magic everywhere, people were using Apparition everywhere, and the Ministry of Magic couldn’t keep up.

Compared to smuggling people out from the heavily guarded Hogwarts, isn’t it easier to act in a place like this?

Vid gazed at the teacup in his hand, and after a moment, poured himself another cup of hot tea and slowly finished it, before turning the cup upside down.

Once the tea had flowed away, the leftover tea leaves formed a chaotic state at the bottom, and Vid gently rotated the saucer.

Skull... Skull... Skull... Skull.

No matter which direction you looked from, the remaining tea leaves formed the shape of a skull.

[Death, Danger... Potentially Fatal Threat...]

Vid recalled the words from the book and then looked at the scattered tea leaves surrounding the skull, almost forming a circle.

[Surrounded by shadows... Symbolizing danger magnified, extra caution is needed...]

”It’s ominous! Extremely ominous!”

Vid recalled Professor Trelawney, during the lesson covering this content, her eyes wide, breath short as she said:

”If you see similar patterns, you must be careful! You must be careful! My dear... that means death is staring at you... you must be extremely cautious, avoiding all dangerous places!”

”I’ve given you all the warnings I can, but I hope you will never... ah... never encounter such terrible things... Merlin bless you... don’t approach the veil of death...”

Trelawney ended the class in her usual eccentric manner, finally sinking into her chair and muttering to herself as if she thought of something terrifying.

But Vid remembered that after that class, several Gryffindors wrote in their prophecy homework that they saw skulls, crosses, and similar patterns, then concocted a terrifying crisis for themselves.

Thinking of Professor Trelawney’s wide-eyed expression, Vid couldn’t help but smile, then looked down and saw the skull on the saucer, and sighed.

”So... what’s the use of Divination? It tells you there’s danger but doesn’t say where the danger is coming from... staying at the campsite might be dangerous, but leaving the campsite might be where the real danger lies...”

Vid muttered softly, placing the saucer down, and inadvertently spotting ”Quidditch World Cup History” on the bookshelf, feeling stirred inside.
