Hogwarts: Even Voldemort Can't Stop Me From Studying

Chapter 636: Chapter 27: Death Eater Malfoy

Vid turned the camera and found another two or three school’s booths diagonally opposite, and saw the students brought by the school’s professors to watch the match.

They were all teenagers, born in a peaceful era, possessing a power unimaginable by ordinary people, even among peers, they were considered talented, hence they appeared energetic and youthful.

Perhaps the adults behind them came to the United Kingdom with some utilitarian purposes, but the students often didn’t think that much, even for the upcoming contest, they were just focused on doing their best.

At this moment, the young people were just like all the fervent spectators, cheering, screaming, watching the players speeding by, cheering joyfully when their supported team scored, and feeling upset when temporarily defeated.

Suddenly, Vid’s binoculars paused slightly, he saw the Malfoy family in the lens.

The reason why he noticed them was that, like Sirius, that family had extravagantly reserved an entire booth but hadn’t invited other friends to fill the spare seats.

Draco Malfoy leaned on the railing, watching the match with great excitement, in a manner similar to Harry beside Vid.

His mother sat smiling on a chair nearby, seemingly not very interested in the match, mostly focusing her gaze on her son.

Lucius Malfoy was also frowning, sitting aside, suddenly he leaned over to whisper something to his wife, got up and left the booth from a small door behind, disappearing from Vid’s sight.

Vid turned the camera and saw the few students mocking the England Team’s meager 10 points, their blue and magenta robes striking and surprisingly aligned with their flamboyant yet contradictory aura.

Now Vid learned those were students from the United States’ Ilvermorny.

Some traditional British wizards considered Ilvermorny merely a mimic of Hogwarts, superficial and shallow, but American wizards believed they were pioneers full of possibilities, and Hogwarts was the relic exuding stale decay.

But due to the naturally guarded and isolated nature of the Magic World, chances for wizards from both countries to interact were few, rarely conveying their true opinions to each other.

Imagining these people gathering at Hogwarts... Vid couldn’t help but feel sympathy for Professor McGonagall.

As for Dumbledore... Dumbledore probably wouldn’t be troubled by it, he would just smile, watching their concepts clash, generously remarking that they were all doing wonderfully.

After diverting his gaze from Ilvermorny’s booth, Vid briefly focused on the match, seeing Peru’s Beater using all his strength to hit a Bludger towards the opponent, yet the Irish Beater deftly dodged it.

The skills displayed by these Quidditch players always amazed Vid, knowing it was already nighttime with a gloomy sky and no moonlight visible. Even with lighting in the stadium, finding the Bludger wasn’t easy.

But both teams’ players seemed as if the Bludger and Quaffle were part of their limbs, sometimes reacting promptly without even seeing them first.

As it seemed, the Quidditch match was not as dull as Vid originally believed.

He momentarily diverted, seeing a Peruvian player hit by a Bludger, blood instantly splattering, and the person plummeting straight down from the air, the stadium guards hurriedly riding brooms to catch them, thankfully using Levioso to hold the person before reaching the ground.

The match paused briefly as a result, Vid’s gaze returned to the booths on the stands.

He wandered aimlessly for a while, originally hoping to spot some familiar faces, like Antoine, Grindelwald, McGonagall, Dumbledore, and the like.

A streak of pale golden hair, smooth like silk, suddenly snagged Vid’s attention.

Lucius Malfoy left his family’s booth but appeared in another one, where the people seated at the rear seemed entirely uninterested in the match, merely whispering among themselves, with some emotional agitation.

Vid noticed Malfoy unconsciously clutching his arm, looking somewhat fearful, mixed with disdain.

As the match whistle resounded again, Lucius Malfoy also rose and left this booth, most of the others leaving in turn.

Among them were two burly, strong men, resembling enlarged versions of Goyle and Crabbe, undoubtedly the fathers of those two Slytherin classmates.

Vid once met Crabbe’s father, and at this moment, observing, that man’s demeanor seemed even more gloomy, remaining silent throughout, merely listening.

As for the remaining few, some appeared gaunt, some ferocious, and one conspicuously hunched, most inadvertently touching their arms, almost reflexively.

——A Death Eater gathering?

Vid furrowed his brow, as after those few left, the remaining people in the booth seemed to start focusing on the match.

Vid tweaked the binoculars—one of this panoramic scope’s advantages was replaying scenes, as well as zooming in and out.

Several individuals in the booth soon appeared in the lens, Vid deciphering their unclear lip movements—

”The Mark... is becoming more apparent... resurrection...”

”Impossible...”

”Create chaos... test... can convey signals...”

”Wait for the moment... we need... the final...”

Vid put down the binoculars, furrowing his brow.

The Dark Mark on the Death Eaters’ arms was reminding them, was Voldemort preparing for resurrection?

It was probably like occasionally being hit with remote shocks, impossible to forget, even somewhat diminishing the power of the Masking Spell.

So does this mean they’ll still, as the original plot suggested, create chaos at the camp post-match, tormenting Muggles?

Suddenly, Vid heard a sharp, piercing whistle—Ireland won.

The stands erupted in tumultuous shouting and cheering, supporters thrilled, waving their wands to release numerous Magic Fireworks into the sky.

Ireland’s players flew around the stadium in circles, looking as if longing to announce their victory to all spectators.

After this match, they secured an entry ticket to the finals, their final standing locked between the champion and runner-up.

”That match was fantastic.” Harry said, still unsatisfied: ”Aidan Lynch was really great, his teammates were also superb. Vid, what do you think?”

Vid blinked and said: ”Actually, I think the most exciting match is always the first one.”

”Ah?” Harry didn’t understand, as he didn’t like reading books, especially those about history.

Sirius and Lupin understood, already laughing heartily.

”In 1473, the first Quidditch World Cup didn’t have as many rules as now.”

Vid explained slowly: ”I heard they once turned the Chaser into a chicken marten, and tried to chop the goalkeeper’s head off with a machete. Team captains hid over a hundred vampire bats under their robes—wasn’t that more exciting than chasing a few balls now?”

Harry was dumbstruck: ”Did they still call that Quidditch?”

Vid nodded: ”The orthodox Wizard’s Quidditch.”
