Hogwarts: Even Voldemort Can't Stop Me From Studying

In the morning, Vid habitually woke up just as the first light of dawn broke, opening the window first before washing up.

When Vid returned to his room, two or three letters had already been dropped on the desk, and the owl Eva was perched on the stand beside it, drinking water with her head down.

”Mr. Vid Gray.” Dobby stood in the center of the room with a round tray, happily saying, ”Dobby heard Mr. Vid Gray get up, so Dobby has brought honey water.”

”Thank you, Dobby.” Vid took the honey water and casually complimented, ”The scarf is very pretty.”

Dobby pulled at the scarf around his neck, which had a cute little yellow bear on it, and grinned happily, saying, ”Madam Grey let Dobby pick it himself, and Dobby thinks it’s wonderful too!”

While other house-elves are not allowed to receive clothes, Dobby at the Grey Family was instead treated by Vid’s mother Fiona as a clothes rack, with all the various children’s clothes young Vid had firmly rejected now being bought back by Fiona, allowing Dobby to change into a new outfit every day.

Dobby’s aesthetics were completely aligned with Fiona’s, as he loved all kinds of colorful, flamboyant clothes—except for socks, which he liked to wear mismatched.

After drinking the water, Vid ran a few laps in the wardrobe space to get some exercise, then returned to the desk to start handling the letters.

By that time, a few more packages had appeared on the desk, and a large Eurasian eagle-owl had temporarily taken over Eva’s spot, voraciously eating the owl feed from her tray.

Eva was so angry but intimidated, hunched in the corner. Seeing her owner appear, she immediately spread her wings and let out an intimidating cry, trying to drive the eagle-owl off her throne.

The eagle-owl ignored her, only glancing tentatively at Vid, then hurriedly gulped down the remaining feed.

”Be generous, good girl.”

Vid petted Eva’s head, gave her a couple of handfuls of feed, and also gave two handfuls to the eagle-owl, finally pouring a full plate by the window, preparing for any other owls that might come.

The package sent by the eagle-owl was from Machioni, as always containing various alchemy materials, magic potion materials, and financial reports.

Sometimes when Machioni traveled to other countries to expand business, he would also bring Vid some interesting little items he came across.

Without the far-reaching Machioni, Vid would have to put in quite a bit of effort to obtain these materials himself.

For example, African tree snake skin, which is needed for brewing Polyjuice Potion, is practically a controlled item in the Magic World, expensive and hard to come by.

Thanks to Machioni’s provision of these items, Vid is able to keep Polyjuice Potion as a regular stock item and supply it to Mabel without limits.

Vid wrote a reply, then moved on to Delaine’s letter.

This Witch Pure Party member obviously could use a Communication Pea to get in touch, but always preferred writing letters—perhaps because it helped organize his thoughts better.

Delaine never discussed personal matters, but he wrote about recent activities of the Witch Pure Party in his letters [although Vid could soon see the news in the Flow Mirror, Delaine’s content was naturally more comprehensive and included some unpublished information], discussed magic and video editing techniques, but mostly pondered philosophical topics.

Such as the essence and meaning of war, why the idea of wizard supremacy faces opposition from many wizards, even pure-blood wizards, and the various pros and cons of the current changes within the Witch Pure Party...

Corresponding with Delaine, Vid always grew more excited with each letter, feeling a faint tremor, as if every word written could become a spark igniting the stagnant, decaying Magic World someday in the future.

To prevent these letters from becoming bullets aimed at himself someday, Vid signed them all under the pseudonym [Braun], and changed his usual handwriting style to avoid recognition by acquaintances.

Next came letters from Gringotts, Michael, Theo, Professor Morry’s response to queries, and then a letter from St Mungo’s...

Fortunately, with the help of magic, the quill could write automatically, or Vid would soon develop a pea-sized callus on his hand from dealing with letters every day.

Vid opened the letter sent from St Mungo’s.

[Dear Mr. Vid Gray:

Hello!

We are very pleased to inform you that, after a period of diligent treatment and care, your uncle Mr. Cornelius Dawan’s condition has significantly improved and is in a stable recovery stage. Currently, his health is nearing the discharge standard.

If everything goes well, Mr. Dawan is expected to be discharged within three days. After being discharged, he will only need to take medication regularly and undergo simple daily care to gradually return to normal living standards.

If you have any questions regarding Mr. Dawan’s condition, or need more information, please feel free to contact us, and I will be happy to provide you with the necessary support and assistance promptly.

Wish you and your family good health and a happy life!

Healer: Mary Nunez]

Just as Vid finished reading the letter, the diligent quill immediately jumped up and wrote down lines of text—

[Dear Mary:

Thank you for your meticulous care of Uncle Dawan, this is a great comfort to our entire family...]

Vid, of course, did not have an uncle named Cornelius Dawan. This person was a scientist found by his father Ferdinand; he was abandoned by even his family due to his critical illness, and Vid entrusted Lupin to send this person to St Mungo’s for treatment.
