This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

While everyone else was focused on Lan Changhua on the ground, the police had already gathered details about the incident from those nearby.

But looking at the assaulter—who stood there without any visible injuries, yet was clutching his arm and howling in pain—the officer became a bit more wary of these men in white gowns.

There are some tough guys among them, the officer thought. To dislocate an adult man’s arm, without him being restrained at all, just like that. If it were me, even with several people holding the man down, I wouldn’t be able to do it so easily. Breaking it, though, that might be possible.

When the police officer heard Cao Binghe speak, he assumed Cao Binghe was the one who had acted. Pointing at the man on the ground, he said, ”You used a bit too much force. Come to the police station with me to make a statement.”

No one wanted to go to the police station, and Cao Binghe was no exception. ”I have many patients here, and my teacher is injured. I can’t leave. Could you possibly question us here?”

The police officer glanced at the patients peeking from outside, then looked down at the man still sitting on the ground, unable to get up. He said reluctantly, ”I’m afraid that won’t work. As you can see, this man’s injury is quite serious. It would be better for us to go back to the station and discuss this properly.”

The police officer was also in a bind. In this situation, if the man’s arm could be reset without any lasting complications, that would be fine. But if it couldn’t be set right, the man’s family might sue these doctors. Such things weren’t unheard of. After all, in today’s society, people might even sue the city if they tripped over a curb.

Just as Cao Binghe was about to say more, Du Heng raised his hand to stop him. Smiling, he asked, ”Sir, if this man is all right, would we still need to go with you?”

”Of course. If he’s fine, then *he* becomes the suspect of intentional assault, and I’ll only take him in. Naturally, you’ll still need to provide any necessary cooperation.”

”That’s a given,” Du Heng replied with a cheerful smile, then walked over to the man and reached out to pull him up.

The man, so aggressive moments before, was now utterly cowardly. Before Du Heng even applied any force, he scrambled to his feet. Clutching his arm, he tried to run behind the police officer.

The dislocated joint and immobilized arm were minor issues. The real problem was the pain—a searing, heart-wrenching agony that wouldn’t relent, intensifying with the slightest movement of his shoulder.

Just as he tried to flee, Du Heng reached out, grabbed his dangling arm, and pulled him back.

With a yelp of pain, the man was involuntarily pulled toward Du Heng. But Du Heng, still holding the arm, pushed it back towards the man’s body.

Instantly, an even louder, more agonizing scream tore through the air.

”What are you doing?” The police officer’s eyes bulged. He hadn’t expected Du Heng to commit assault right in front of him. Shouting, he moved to separate them.

However, after a gentle push, Du Heng released the man’s arm. Just as the police officer reached out, Du Heng’s hand dropped.

The police officer frowned, annoyed at the man who was wailing once more.

But Du Heng said with a smile, ”It’s all right now, Sir. He’s fine.”

Fine? Are you kidding me? How could he possibly be fine after screaming like a pig being slaughtered? the officer thought.

Seeing the police officer’s disbelief, Du Heng gestured towards the man. ”If you don’t believe me, have him try it. There’s absolutely no problem now.”

The police officer was skeptical. Although the man was still screaming, he instructed him to raise his arm.

However, the man, perhaps overwhelmed by the pain, wasn’t cooperating. He just clutched his shoulder and kept screaming.

Gradually, however, the police officer noticed something was off. Perhaps the man had been in genuine pain initially, hence the horrific screams, but it was now obvious he was faking it.

A sharp command cut through the air next to the man’s ear: ”Hands on your head! Squat down!”

Startled, the man flinched and obediently squatted.

The police officer could now see clearly: the arm was indeed better. The man still seemed to feel some pain when he moved his arm, grimacing as he did so.

The police officer glanced at Du Heng. It was then he realized he might have mistaken who the real master was. It’s this young man, he thought.

Cao Binghe was once again stunned by Du Heng’s skills. This time, it was even clearer and more direct. He stared at Du Heng, his eyes practically bulging with amazement.

After the police officer finally took the man away, Cao Binghe asked, ”Doctor Du, you... you just set it back?”

”Yes, I set it back.”

”Is bone joining really that simple?”

Du Heng smiled. ”Isn’t it simple? Just a pull and a push.”

Cao Binghe gulped hard. ”Doctor Du, you’re so skilled in the Internal Medicine Department you can even treat tumors. You’re also brilliant in surgery, curing vitiligo with excellent recovery. I never expected your orthopedics skills to be this amazing too. Are you an all-around genius?”

”Not really. My skills in the Five Senses Department still need work,” Du Heng replied modestly.

But Cao Binghe couldn’t help swallowing hard again.

Suddenly, he didn’t quite feel like talking to Du Heng anymore.

Initially, after reviewing Zhu Minyan’s treatment records, he had been very impressed by Du Heng. However, he had felt he wasn’t too far behind him in skill.

But now, having seen Du Heng dislocate and then reset an arm with his bare hands, and hearing Du Heng’s casual yet boastful-sounding reply, he instantly lost his composure.

So, you’re saying you’re an expert in everything else except the Five Senses Department, huh?
