Emperor’s Domination

“Perhaps things will change for the better, not all divine beasts share the same idea.” He said.

“Is that why you didn’t tell Xiaoyue the truth? You passed down noble concepts about the divine beast race and hoped she would be able to change the situation?” Li Qiye asked.

“Maybe I made a mistake with her.” He hesitated before smiling bitterly.

“Despite her becoming the lord, she still couldn’t do anything. The other divine beasts benefited too much from the status quo. You yourself were hesitant.” Li Qiye said: “You let them take the young chongming birds because you knew what would happen next.”

His expression changed repeatedly, prompting him to take a deep breath. He sighed and said: “It should be coming this time.”

“When it came down to it, you chose to stand with the divine beasts, this dispelled all your ideas about change.” Li Qiye said: “Nonetheless, you tried to get your chongming dragon servants to leave without revealing the truth.”

“I am just an old man, that’s all I can do.” He said.

“You said that there were other divine beasts who didn’t like this. Did you ever attempt to join forces with them?” Li Qiye asked.

He opened his mouth but didn’t say anything.

“Given the chance, would you stand and fight?” Li Qiye asked.

“Young Noble, I can’t.” He shook his head.

“Just like you, those who initially hesitated became what they hate the most. No one could give up everything to walk the hard path.” Li Qiye said.

“It pertains to more than just me.” He defended himself.

“Yes, from start to finish, it is about the survival of your race, that’s the most basic way to put it.” Li Qiye said.

“I’m unsure if that’s an accurate way to put it.” He was somewhat unconvinced.

“It is the truth, the divine beasts care about themselves more than anything. It’s understandable due to the pride, having such innate gifts and blessings, the strongest and the most ancient race when not counting the primordials.” Li Qiye said.

“Yes.” He admitted.

“Pride turns into arrogance and entitlement, that you all deserve the best.” Li Qiye said: “You view others as insects. The so-called noble dragon servants are mere slaves. No, everything in Divine Firmament is a slave.”

“Young Noble, this happens in every world with immortals.” He said.

“Then should I do the same to your race? Breaking your spine and forcing you to kneel for eternity? When I am unhappy, I will roast and eat you. Becoming my slaves is an honor, no? If you think all immortals do this, then it makes sense for me to do the same.” Li Qiye sneered.

His expression soured since that would be utterly humiliating.

“This is what is happening to the dragon servants. Your race is not bestowing anything on this world.” Li Qiye said: “Overlords and immortals mistakenly claim more credits than they deserve. Without these groups, would worlds be shattered or devoured? No, they will continue to exist just fine.”
