Emperor’s Domination

“Boom.” The main gate to Chong Firmament opened for the cavalry.

The external barrier had dampened heir auras but now, everyone below felt the immense pressure. Overlords found themselves vulnerable, like a flock of sheep before wolves.

Stone Immortal and the others were aware of the potential aggression. He entered his peak state, ready for battle. They still had the grand momentum on their side.

“Chief Immortal Guard, what is the reason for your arrival?” Stone Immortal met the cavalry.

The cavalry dismounted and bowed in the direction of the chongming birds to show respect. This alleviated some of the tension.

Regardless of their branch’s power, they were still beneath the divine beasts.

“Clan Master, I am under order to escort the chongming race to a safe location.” The chief guard explained.

The atmosphere became tense immediately. The clank of weapons could be heard, along with piercing gazes.

The visitors noticed this and also activated their fiery auras. It appeared a fight was inevitable.

“Enough.” The chief guard shouted and raised an order: “I am here with Skykiller Order, please do not be foolish!”

The chongming dragon servants exchanged glances, aware that this order superceded all else.

“Please help us escort the divine beasts.” The chief guard said.

Since they were all servants, he didn’t wish to fight directly.

“Impossible.” Stone Immortal refused: “The responsibility to protect the chongming birds is ours, not the skykiller branch.”

“I hope you will obey the order, clan master. I don’t want unnecessary conflict.” The chief guard said.

“If an order conflicts with our duty, I follow the assigned duty first.” Stone Immortal said: “Thus, we refuse the order.”

The others agreed with his assessment.

“We wish to do the same.” The chief guard said.

“Then make the place Chong Firmament, not elsewhere.” Stone Immortal said.

“I can understand the reason behind your request but these are special circumstances, we must escort the chongming birds to a safe place.” The chief guard said after exchanging glances with his men.

“For the chongming birds, this place is safer than any other.” An adult chongming bird spoke up.

“Your Highness, times have changed. This is not my decision alone but rather, all the nine divine beasts.” The chief guard said.

“Our Chongming Bird didn’t agree.” The adult bird said.

“I do not know the specifics behind the agreement, but we do not dare to go against the skykiller order.” The chief guard bowed.

All along, the main commands came from Skykiller Palace regardless of the current ruler. When it came to crucial decisions beyond a single divine beast’s authority, the Skykiller Order was the difference maker. It represented the will of the majority to resolve disagreements. At the very least, five divine beasts have agreed to this.

Thus, the chongming birds quietly discussed among themselves.

After a while, one of them said: “We will not leave Chong Firmament, for it is the safest location.”
