Emperor’s Domination

Bao Pu was furious because Li Qiye shattered his image before everyone, revealing his ugly side. He clenched his fists and his fingers dug into his palms.

Nevertheless, he breathed in and activated the illusion. In the next second, he suddenly changed his mind, no longer wanting to impress the insects. So what if they found him repulsive?

As an immortal, any state was perfect. The insects simply didn’t understand. Once he made up his mind, he became less tense.

“The final line has been crossed.” Li Qiye said.

“Yes. Sacred Teacher.” Bao Pu accepted this.

“The three immortals thought you could have turned back. Being merciful to the enemy is being cruel to the self.” Li Qiye said.

“Sacred Teacher, masters open the door but the students walk the path. There is no return path.” Bao Pu said, severing his connection with Three Immortals entirely.

He fell the moment he chewed on the corpse, his heart replaced by the worm. Once he ambushed his masters, that destroyed their connection.

Only a thread of connection remained between him and Three Immortals World. However, this ended the moment he became comfortable with showing his true form. It was no longer his world and home, just another of many.

When a cultivator became immortal in the traditional way, this mindset would free and elevate them. As for a fallen immortal, a disaster would befall their world. Of course, this happened during the overlord realm as well.

The rightful overlord or immortal would simply leave in search of a better place to improve their dao. The fallen ones would start gauging whether their epoch was useful or otherwise. They stared at it like a fruit. Was it mature enough for consumption and satiation?

Nothing held Bao Pu back any longer. His attachment was gone and he was ready to devour.

Overlords noticed this; a smaller number of primal ancestors and heaven-slayers also knew. They breathed in, feeling slightly suffocated. This fallen immortal could devour them as well, not just lower beings.

“Which is why you deserve to die, and you will die.” Li Qiye said.

“You’ve been wanting to kill me for a long time, Sacred Teacher.” Bao Pu faced Li Qiye without fear.

“Don’t flatter yourself, I could have killed you long ago if I wanted to. You were a fool, the three immortals treated you as a son and never took you down. I’ll do it in their stead.” Li Qiye said.

Bao Pu’s expression changed again. His heart was not made out of stone. A few things couldn’t be erased from his memories. For example, the three immortals.

They were his guides, his masters, and his parents. They never gave up on him until that decisive blow.

However, they were dead now so this emotional instability only lasted a split second. His sin and suffering dispersed from mind.

“We shall see if you can survive long enough to kill me today, Sacred Teacher.” Bao Pu’s shackles shattered, freed from all attachments.

“Big confidence in a little scheme.” Li Qiye couldn’t help but smile: “Very well, I’m not in a hurry to kill you, I’ll let you live to realize your insignificance, unable to learn half of the three immortals’ abilities yet you wish to kill me.”

Bao Pu saw Li Qiye’s expression and recalled that his masters had the same one – the disdainful look as if he was inferior.

He spent his life chasing the dao and paid heavily. He finally reached the top and completed the immortal ascension. How dare they look down on him?

This was akin to a mortal finally becoming a rich man after a lifetime of struggles. Yet, a richer man looked down on him.

Ultimately, his insecurity stemmed from the fact that he didn’t ascend using the traditional method.

“Sacred Teacher, let us see if you live up to the legends.” He challenged.
