The Young Master's Escaping Bride Who Lost Memories

Chapter 922: Chapter 942: Planning the Escape 1

Inside, there was a small baby, growing little by little.

I wonder if when the baby grows up, they will be as handsome and dashing as Nangong Yaoling?

*****

Nangong Yaoling arrived at the bedroom.

He opened the wardrobe, looking at the clothes of Xia Xiaonuan inside.

His fingertips gently slid over a pink suit that she often wore.

He bowed his head, inhaling the scent on it.

Although the clothes had already been dry-cleaned, it seemed as if he could still smell the scent that belonged to her.

After a while, he closed the wardrobe door.

Turning around, he walked to the bedside.

Reaching out his hand, he gently touched the pillow she had once slept on.

”Xia Xiaonuan, why didn’t you tell me sooner? Do you know, your departure like this, it’s more painful than if you had killed me.”

The space between his brows wrinkled a bit as he murmured to the pillow.

His gaze fell slowly onto the cabinet beside him.

He reached out, his long fingers pulling open the cabinet.

Inside was a pink heart-shaped sticky note, which he took out.

There were no words on the note, but a silly face was drawn. Xia Xiaonuan had drawn it.

A trace of a smile flashed in Situ Yan’s eyes.

He took out a feather pen from inside and wrote a line on the note.

”Xia Xiaonuan, you idiot.”

The strong and forceful words were written in flying strokes on the small note.

The smiley face beside seemed to be smiling at him.

Nangong Yaoling suddenly paused with his fingers.

He picked up the pen again and wrote four small words in the bottom right corner of the note.

”I—miss—you—very.”

Then next to the smiley face, he drew a pouty, about-to-cry face.

The man’s long fingers slid over those two expressions.

Xia Xiaonuan, you can leave happily, but I cannot... forget you happily.

Nangong Yaoling closed his eyes.

*****

The next day, when Xia Xiaonuan woke up, it was already midday.

She rolled out of bed and left the room. A servant approached and said, ”Miss Xia, you’re awake? Yandi had something to do and went out. He instructed me to take you to the dining room for a meal if you woke up.”

Something flashed in Xia Xiaonuan’s eyes.

”Where did Situ Yan go?”

”Well...” The servant shook his head with a smile and said, ”I don’t know.”

Xia Xiaonuan thought for a moment and said, ”Can you lend me your phone? I want to call him.”

”I’m sorry, Miss Xia... I don’t have a phone on me.”

”Don’t have one?”

”Us servants aren’t usually allowed to carry phones with us.”

Xia Xiaonuan’s expression darkened for a moment.

The vigilance here was indeed very high.

She had to ask, ”So if I want to make a call, how do I contact?”

”You... you can ask Housekeeper He’er; he’s allowed to carry a phone. But it seems he went out for matters this morning.”

Xia Xiaonuan nodded.

”Let me take you to dine.”

Xia Xiaonuan had breakfast, and looking at the servant next to her, she said, ”I feel a bit bored and want to go out for a walk.”

”Okay, I can take you out for a walk.”

Xia Xiaonuan nodded.

The midday sun was somewhat strong, with four servants following beside Xia Xiaonuan as she walked along a path by a lawn, one of them holding an umbrella for her and saying, ”Miss Xia, up ahead is the side hall, and there’s a garden and pool behind it. You can go take a look.”

Xia Xiaonuan looked around at the surroundings and said, ”In such a big place, do you always have to go through the main door?” There was Jia Mountain here, a garden, and several foreign sculptures in the front.
