The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Destined to have a child.

These four words fell into the ears of Princess Consort Min and Chu Ze, inducing not excitement but a sense of absurdity.

Chu Ze sneered, ”The Dowager must not have become so muddle-headed from illness that she forgets the reason for the child’s appearance, right? Rather than being destined, it was forced, born out of calculation.”

Princess Consort Ji’s face turned pale, she pressed her lips together and said, ”I know you resent me. I admit, it was my manipulation that led to you consummating the marriage, but aren’t you husband and wife? Is it not natural for you to have children?”

”What is natural in this world? Forcing one’s will for selfish desires is what you call natural? It’s absurd... cough cough.” Chu Ze became agitated and couldn’t help but cough.

A hint of worry flashed in the eyes of Princess Consort Min, wanting to persuade, but Princess Consort Ji already anxiously spoke up.

”Don’t get agitated or angry, be mindful of your health.” Princess Consort Ji advised while reaching out to support him.

The Prince reacted as if touched by a plague, immediately flinging her hand aside without thinking.

Princess Consort Ji had suffered greatly this year; though she survived by chance, her body was not as before, her hair turned completely white, and she had lost weight, appearing increasingly frail and old.

Being frail and unprepared, she was suddenly flung aside, nearly falling to the ground.

”Prince,” Princess Consort Min was so frightened that her face turned pale, hurriedly moving to support her, both staggered backward due to the momentum and collided with the edge of a table, eliciting a muffled groan from her.

The Prince’s expression changed, a flash of guilt in his eyes.

Princess Consort Ji, being dragged by Princess Consort Min and hearing that muffled groan, turned pale with fright, disregarding both the Prince and herself, hurriedly steadied herself, and looked at Princess Consort Min nervously, ”Are you alright? Someone, quickly summon the Imperial Physician.”

Princess Consort Min shook her head, ”I’m fine.”

”It’s not up to you to say whether you’re fine; it’s up to the Imperial Physician after checking your pulse,” Princess Consort Ji sternly scolded.

The Prince observed, and a smirk curled at his lips.

Is she afraid that he has no heir, and the glory of Prince Manor cannot be sustained?

Ha ha.

Imperial Physician Li quickly returned, checked Princess Consort Min’s pulse, and sure enough, the slight collision had affected the fetus.

Seeing the somber and quiet atmosphere, Imperial Physician Li dared not speak, only gently advised, ”The Princess has just conceived, it’s best to maintain peace of mind.”

Princess Consort Min smiled bitterly.

After the physician left, Princess Consort Ji said, ”I’ve made a mistake, but I did it for your benefit. If you want to hate or resent me, so be it. This child, conceived after just one attempt, shows a special bond, how can you treat it unfairly? Don’t worry, even if I have to kneel my way to the Cining Palace, I’ll beg the Empress Dowager and the Emperor to protect this child.”

After saying this, she turned to leave.

No matter the cost, she had to protect this child, as she had an intuition that this was the sole bloodline of Prince Min.

”Stop!” the Prince called out, coldly saying, ”Don’t trouble yourself needlessly, there’s no need.”

”Ze’er...”

The Prince no longer looked at her, but at Princess Consort Min, calmly saying, ”Before returning to the manor, the Emperor was already aware that the physician had been summoned to check your pulse, so he likely knows you are pregnant now.”

Princess Consort Min felt a tightness in her chest.

The Prince glanced again at her belly, saying, ”If you wish to keep this child, then nurture it well. If not, pay no heed to anyone, just send it away.”

Having said this, he left without looking back at the expressions of the two women.
