The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Princess Consort Ji touched her burning ears, looking at the plaque of Chaoyang Palace, feeling inexplicably timid as she neared home.

How should she open her mouth when facing that child, what should she say?

The Princess Consort of Prince Min stood beside her sedan chair, similarly complex in emotions, asking who in this world had more complicated matters weighing on them than she?

Husband turns into brother, both became prisoners, truly dramatic indeed.

”Enter.” Princess Consort Ji patted the armrest of the sedan chair.

Two eunuchs carefully carried Princess Consort Ji into the Palace Gate of Chaoyang Palace, bypassing the screen wall, only to see a thin figure standing before the hall door, one hand behind his back, the other in front, quietly observing Princess Consort Ji and her entourage.

Princess Consort Ji saw Chu Ze in a possum fur fox cloak, struggling to straighten up from the soft sedan.

The Princess Consort of Prince Min quickly supported her, also looking over, but after just one glance, withdrew her gaze to look at Princess Consort Ji.

One glance felt like eternity.

Tears sprang instantly from the corners of Princess Consort Ji’s eyes.

Chu Ze looked at the now visibly aged Princess Consort Ji, still standing on the stairs, his thin face devoid of any expression, resembling a stranger below the steps.

Princess Consort Ji tapped the armrest urging them forward, but Chu Ze turned and entered the hall.

The Princess Consort of Prince Min’s brows twitched, glancing at Princess Consort Ji, whose face turned eerily pale, seeming even more pitiable.

Inside the hall, warmth like spring.

Chu Ze turned, looked at those following, a hint of complexity flashing in his eyes.

The Princess Consort of Prince Min helped wipe Princess Consort Ji’s tears, and seeing Chu Ze looking over, curtsied in greeting.

Chu Ze was momentarily startled.

Princess Consort Ji stared unwaveringly at Chu Ze, hoping to find traces of his childhood in his face, but she couldn’t picture this as her real child until his gaze met hers.

Princess Consort Ji’s body stiffened.

Just those eyes suddenly reminded her of years ago, how old was Ze’er then, eleven or twelve?

That year she went on an outing, wasn’t there a child who ran over claiming he was really Chu Ze? But what was she thinking then, scolding him as insane, her own son was perfectly well at home taking lessons with the tutor, such a noble and polite child, how could he compare to that frail boy?

She certainly wouldn’t take the words of a mad child to heart, waved her hand, and those beside her dragged the child away, in those days, what were that child’s eyes like?

Filled with disbelief, helplessness, despair, and a hint of resentment and hatred.

The eyes in front of her overlapped with those of that child.

”You, you truly are my Ze’er?” Princess Consort Ji trembled as she spoke.

Chu Ze sneered coldly at the corner of his mouth.

”Has the Dowager come here to confirm the truth?”

That one word ’Dowager’ made Princess Consort Ji’s tears fall profusely.

”Whether true or false, why doesn’t Lady go ask that good son you’ve raised for over twenty years in Liuli Palace?” Chu Ze’s tone was calm, yet painfully sharp to the ear.

Princess Consort Ji’s lips quivered: ”You, are you blaming me?”

”The Dowager is exaggerating, how dare an insane fool like me trying to cling to power be so treacherous?”

These were her words from back then.

Princess Consort Ji’s head spun, her face turned ashen, her body began to tremble, and her heart tightened painfully intolerably.

The Princess Consort of Prince Min, who had been watching her closely, quickly blocked her view, glanced at Chu Ze, opened her mouth, but ultimately couldn’t utter a single word.
