The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

This illness, known as a stroke, often occurs in elderly individuals, yet Princess Consort Ji is not even fifty, and she has suffered a stroke. This is no trivial matter.

The Princess Consort of Prince Min, unable to worry about any counterfeit, only asked the Imperial Physician about the possibility of Princess Consort Ji’s recovery from this condition.

As a rule, an Imperial Physician, regardless of the diagnosis, never speaks in absolutes, but rather leaves some room for adjustment, to avoid being held accountable later.

”Dowager, this is an acute condition; because she is not very old, and this is her first occurrence, it is not particularly severe. As long as she cooperates with acupuncture and medication, she should gradually recover. However, the prerequisite is that she must rest quietly, avoiding extreme joy, sadness, or anger. Otherwise, if another stroke occurs, she might be unable to speak and could be entirely paralyzed, spending the rest of her life bedridden.”

The Princess Consort of Prince Min looked rather distressed and asked, ”But earlier, my Consort couldn’t even speak.”

”She has just regained consciousness and is naturally anxious, so it is understandable if she can’t speak. It needs to be eased slowly,” the Imperial Physician said. ”I will first prescribe a medical formula and have someone decoct it. As for acupuncture, while I am not incapable, it is not as convenient as a female doctor. I have heard there is a female doctor with the surname Lin at the Prime Minister’s Mansion, who occasionally enters the palace to perform acupuncture on the Empress Dowager. Her acupuncture skills have been instructed and inherited from Buhui. If she could be invited to administer acupuncture on the Dowager, the effect would be even better.”

The Princess Consort of Prince Min said, ”Thank you, Imperial Physician, I will consult my Consort Mother.”

The Imperial Physician nodded and went to prepare the prescription.

The Princess Consort of Prince Min rubbed her temples and re-entered the bedroom, seeing the palace maids inside sobbing, she couldn’t help but feel irritated and rebuked, ”Stop crying, help the Dowager change into refreshing clothes, go decoct the medicine, and extinguish the incense in the room. Bring in some fresh fruit.”

No one dared to argue, they bowed respectfully and busied themselves.

”Master.” Wanchun came over to support her.

The Princess Consort of Prince Min said, ”Go back and have someone pack some things. I will temporarily stay in this east side room, which will make it easier to keep watch.”

Wanchun agreed.

The bedroom was bustling, and once everything was settled, the Princess Consort of Prince Min then came to the bedside, looking at Princess Consort Ji whose cheeks had sunken, with some silver in her hair, and a pale complexion, she couldn’t help but sigh deeply.

The usually proud and elevated Dowager, having suffered this series of blows, had noticeably aged.

In her half-life she had been fairly successful, though not very old, she had enjoyed wealth and prosperity, yet in this age where she should have been enjoying her later years, she suffered these blows and hardships. Could this be considered an unfortunate old age?

Flowers don’t stay red for a hundred days, and humans don’t stay well for a hundred days.

It’s all fate.

The Princess Consort of Prince Min tucked in her blankets, feeling a trace of sympathy in her eyes, and yet full of deep contemplation.

Was the imposter Xia Houzhe, and the real Chu Ze, actually that Shang Pu?

A figure suddenly appeared in her mind, extremely frail, wrapped in a thick cloak, as if a gust of wind could blow him over, that was the one she saw at Songshan Temple.

It’s said that Shang Pu was extremely weak, rumored to not survive past twenty-five, but she knew that when Chu Ze was young, he was robust, how could he have become so frail.

What did the remnants of the Xia family do to him?

While she was lost in thought, her hand was suddenly grabbed, startling her. As she looked down, it turned out that Princess Consort Ji had awakened, her eyes wide open, mouth agape as if to speak.

The Princess Consort of Prince Min immediately covered her mouth and said, ”Don’t worry, listen to me. The Imperial Physician said this is a stroke, and your emotions cannot fluctuate too much, or it will worsen, leading directly to paralysis. So please calm your emotions first?”
