The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Song Ruqi drank the fetus-preserving medicine, gradually calmed down, and Song Ci then ordered people to prepare a sedan chair to carry her back to her former courtyard to rest.

”Grandmother, I can handle it, I want to listen.” Song Ruqi refused Song Ci’s kindness, gritting her teeth, and said, ”Someone is deliberately trying to harm my child and me. I cannot pretend to be deaf and mute, hiding behind and waiting for the elders to make decisions for me. I must be aware of the situation myself.”

One time might be enough, but if it happens again, she would go mad. She absolutely cannot let anyone have another chance to harm them.

Song Ci thought for a moment, then said, ”There’s no harm in staying behind to be angry, but you cannot become agitated again. If it affects the child, it will be your own doing.”

Song Ruqi nodded.

Madam gritted her teeth, saying, ”Mother, that young Mrs. Liao truly has a vicious heart. Tomorrow, I will go to the Duke Mansion to ask the family what they mean by this. If they don’t intend for my son-in-law to have children, I will simply bring Ruqi’s dowry back, so she won’t have to worry about being scared in their household.”

Indeed, it’s true that the daughter you gave birth to is the one you love. Your own daughter being secretly harmed like this infuriates even a Buddha.

Song Ruqi lightly pressed her lips, her eyes turning red.

Song Ci said, ”Your hot temper is flaring up now. You go to confront them, and one sentence from them can send you back.” She pointed at Song Ruqi, saying, ”Qi’er has shown signs, yet hasn’t sent any word to the Duke Mansion. They can completely claim ignorance of this matter. If they know nothing, whatever bracelet she wears is casual. You dare to say the young Mrs. Liao has a vicious heart, deliberately wearing such insidious items in front of Qi’er. Do you dare to say this in the face of the Duke Madam? What grounds do you have to say so?”

”This...”

”We can only say that Ruqi’s pregnancy will be exposed; the other side must have suspected something, whether to test or intentionally, they first wore that insidious item openly.” Song Ci raised her eyebrows, saying, ”After all, if no message is sent back, they can still gritting say they didn’t know Ruqi was pregnant. As for why she wore it, they could easily claim it was for contraception, what can you do?”

Song Ruqi said, ”So we have to suffer in silence again?” She spat with hatred, ”Grandmother also heard what my sister-in-law said, that bracelet from before, my second sister-in-law once borrowed it to wear; she could have discovered the secret compartment and made alterations.”

”Last year’s incident can only be considered an unsolved case; it could be your second sister-in-law, your mother-in-law, or even your elder sister-in-law; none are fully trustworthy.” Song Ci rubbed the prayer beads, saying, ”Looking at it now, it seems the person least wanting you to have children is the young Mrs. Liao, as considering your noble birth, your husband holds ranks, and if you have children, it would overshadow her completely.”

She paused here, saying, ”This remains suspicion, whether it’s her or not, or someone else in your household with human skin doing inhuman deeds, this can only rely on you to slowly discern in the future.”

Song Ruqi remained silent; the Duke Mansion was large, and the disputes were immense, something she deeply felt and greatly disliked.

”Mother, no matter what, the bracelet was taken from her; she cannot dissociate herself from this.” Madam said, ”Even if she were foolish, she would not possibly carry something filled with insidious items around, claiming pregnancy avoidance? Absolutely not, she only regrets not having more children.”

Song Ci naturally knew that young Mrs. Liao was not innocent; the bracelet came from her, whether she knew or not, she must bear the responsibility. This is exactly as the saying goes — once yellow mud falls into the pants pocket, even if it’s not feces, it is seen as feces.
