The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Cining Palace has undergone changes, and the entire Imperial Palace is under martial law, especially Cining Palace. Regardless of whether Empress Dowager Wang is poisoned, first control all those serving in the palace. Everything will wait until the Imperial Physician diagnoses the illness before proceeding.

Some who are well-informed, upon leaving the palace, immediately instruct their family to temporarily halt any grand celebrations and refrain from any extravagant behaviors. After all, the situation of the Empress Dowager is uncertain. If they were to displease the Emperor, it might bring trouble to the whole family.

Prince Min Mansion.

Princess Consort Ji received the news and secretly laughed three times. Even Empress Dowager Wang has her day. Drinking to excess, she immediately asked someone to quietly warm a pot of yellow wine, drinking by herself.

Prince Min heard the news, narrowed his eyes slightly, with a smile that seemed to be a smirk, muttered: ”He is quite lucky, but if he knew I have borne the blame for him, I wonder what expression he would show.”

The person kneeling in front of him said: ”Prince, should we clean up?”

”What’s there to clean? I didn’t poison anyone. Whatever they find is fate. Besides, I’m just a middleman.” Prince Min casually replied, ”At the worst, a visit to the Heavenly Prison.”

The confidant remained silent.

Princess Consort Min, however, asked a maid to fetch a large coat, and then sent a card to the palace. Since Empress Dowager is ill, as a daughter-in-law, I must enter the palace to attend to her sickness.

Indeed, attending to sickness, according to tradition, Empress Dowager Wang, as the legitimate mother-in-law, is considered the proper mother-in-law whom she needs to attend.

Princess Consort Ji, hearing about Princess Consort Min’s orders, angrily smashed the pot of freshly warmed yellow wine. Damn Xia family. It’s like they think I’m dead and just exist to spite me.

Xiazhi Foreign Trading Company, the real Chu Ze looks at the sky, the snowflakes slowly drifting down, unsure whether to feel happy or sad.

Has it begun?

He sighed and said, ”While there’s still time, leave. It’s unbearable here in the capital.”

”My lord, I won’t leave.”

”If you don’t leave, are you planning to accompany me to death? You should know that no matter how things go, I’ll be pushed out as the useless pawn.” Whether Chu Ze or Xia Houzhe, they have come to bear it themselves.

Shang Meiniang lifted her head, ”My lord...”

”The silver saved in the banking office is enough for you to live anonymously for a lifetime. I don’t think he would mind. Leave now.” Chu Ze turned around and went into the side room.

Shang Meiniang remained kneeling on the ground, crying softly, letting the snowflakes engulf her.

Song Family.

Song Ci nearly dropped the medicine bowl in her hand, looking at Song Zhiyuan in shock and asking, ”The Empress Dowager fell unconscious? How could this happen so suddenly?”

Song Zhiyuan’s face was also somewhat somber. He said, ”I am not at liberty to linger in the harem, and for now, do not know the cause of illness.”

”Prepare my official attire and send a card to the palace. I will go to visit Her Ladyship.” Song Ci was feeling restless.

Song Zhiyuan quickly said, ”Mother, you need not rush. The palace situation is currently unclear. If you rashly go there, it will only add to the chaos. Better wait until the situation of Her Ladyship is clarified.”

”The Prime Minister is right. You are holding a bowl of medicine yourself right now. You mustn’t move about hastily; otherwise, you might spread the illness and that would be inappropriate.” Palace Nanny also advised.

”Palace Nanny is speaking wisely. Mother, hold on for now. Once Her Ladyship regains consciousness, sending a card will not be too late.” Song Zhiyuan said, ”Since Empress Dowager suddenly fell ill, Cining Palace is under martial law. Even if you go there, you won’t be able to see the Empress Dowager.”

Upon hearing this, Song Ci had to hold herself back, sighing, ”Let it be according to your words then. Palace Nanny, please support me to the small temple. I will offer incense to the Bodhisattva.”

She must pray to the Bodhisattva and the whereabouts-in-hiding old lady, asking them to protect Empress Dowager Wang, making her eternal.
