The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Xiao Liao’s chest was soaking wet, her face full of anger as she glared at Nan Shan, who had caused the trouble, her chest heaving with rage.

This incident left everyone stunned for a moment.

Song Ci was the first to react and looked towards the Madam, saying, ”What do we do about this, Nan Shan? How could you do such a thing? Hurry and apologize to Madam Qi’er.”

”I admit my guilt. Please punish me, Madam and Madam Qi’er,” Nan Shan knelt down, her voice cold.

Here, Lu and the others might not understand what kind of person Nan Shan is, but how could Song Ci and the Madam not know?

As someone trained as a Hidden Guard, how could Nan Shan’s skills be so poor as to bump into someone and splash them?

Someone who had undergone such rigorous training wouldn’t make such a low-level mistake, let alone take the initiative to serve tea upon entering.

There must be something suspicious here; she intentionally did it.

The Madam thought of Nan Shan’s identity, was there something that required Nan Shan to deal with Xiao Liao?

Thinking of a certain possibility, her gaze sharply shifted to Xiao Liao, but quickly returned to normal. She said to the housekeeper beside her, ”Housekeeper, quickly help Madam Qi’er to change clothes. I noticed her figure is similar to Second Brother’s wife, fetch an untouched outfit from her, I’ll replace it with a new one later.”

As she spoke, she signaled to the housekeeper.

The housekeeper shivered inwardly, quickly complying, and said, ”I’ll send someone immediately. It’s cold outside, we might have to borrow the West Wing of Madam’s residence. Madam Qi’er, please come this way.”

Just as Xiao Liao had muttered a curse, she realized her slip of the tongue, but upon seeing the wet stain on her chest, she cursed her misfortune and followed the housekeeper out.

Lu’s eyes flickered.

Once Xiao Liao had left, she apologized to Song Ci with a bow, ”Second Brother’s wife has always had a straightforward nature, and she misspoke in the heat of the moment. Please, Madam, forgive her this time.”

”What are you saying? Ultimately, it was my poor management that led this girl to act so recklessly,” Song Ci pretended to reprimand Nan Shan with a glare, ”You needn’t serve here. Go find Mama Su and receive your punishment.”

Nan Shan bowed her head in agreement and retreated.

Only then did Song Ruqi sit down and say to Lu, ”Why do you have time to visit today, Sister-in-law?”

”I’ve come to bring you your allowance,” Lu teased, ”You, as a guest at the Prime Minister’s Mansion, shouldn’t be short-handed. The servants need to be rewarded properly, so I’ve brought it over. Don’t laze around at your parents’ house. You must come back quickly to help me. The mansion is very hectic.”

Song Ruqi pouted, ”To be honest, Sister-in-law, I plan to stay here until the year’s end before returning to the mansion. I have no place in managing the household affairs and lack the patience, so it falls on you and Second Sister-in-law to help Mother.”

The Madam clicked her tongue and chided, ”Qi’er, how can you talk to your Sister-in-law like this? She’s willing to spoil you, but you can’t be rude.”

Song Ruqi awkwardly stood up, bowed to Lu, and said, ”Sister-in-law, I didn’t mean to argue. I’m just lazy, as long as my courtyard is in order, that’s enough for me. I don’t have the ability to manage the rest of the household affairs.”

Lu walked over, holding her hand, ”You’re treating me like an outsider. It’s rare for you to return for a short stay. Do you think I’d stop you from bonding with your family? My own family is far away. Even if I wanted a short stay, it’s difficult. I can only envy you.”

Hearing the melancholy in her words, everyone offered some words of comfort before sitting down to chat about miscellaneous topics.

However, the Madam, intentionally or not, kept an eye on Lu and occasionally glanced towards the door, appearing somewhat distracted.
