Beast Taming Clan: I Have a Jade Book

Chapter 42: Chapter 42: Bloodthirsty Demon Gu

The Ye Family’s Lingyun Peak, Ye Xinghe’s Spiritual Ship passed through the clouds, and in the distance, the faint red sky was vaguely visible.

With large patches of clouds dissipating, the crimson morning glow appeared particularly glaring.

Lingyun Peak, too, gradually revealed itself beneath the celestial skies.

On the Spiritual Ship, doubts still lingered among the few individuals.

Beside them, another Spiritual Ship emerged; it came from the Cyan Cloud Mountain Range, also belonging to the Demon Hunting Hall of the Ye Family.

This time, it undoubtedly made the atmosphere on the Spiritual Ship grow eerie and uneasy once more.

Ye Jinhao and Ye Xinghong roughly guessed that this time, it was not about the clan competition.

“Roar!”

Suddenly, from the distant clouds, the roar of a Demon Beast echoed, drawing all clan members’ gazes toward Lingyun Peak.

Ye Jingcheng did the same; he had never been to the summit of Lingyun Peak, as it was the clan’s forbidden area.

Now, with the terrifying beast roar, it was apparent, just as their hearts had suspected, something was wrong with the clan, and from the sound, it was not a Mortal Beast.

The very roar shook the earth and mountains.

They all turned to Ye Xinghe.

Even Ye Xinghe, who usually wore a stoic and cheerful demeanor, had a slightly somber expression on his forehead, with deep eyes staring ahead.

No one questioned, and Ye Xinghe didn’t speak; upon reaching Lingyun Peak, they saw it fully prepared, with the Mountain Protection Array fully activated.

Many Ye Family cultivators appeared among the peaks, and several Spirit Beasts were being led along.

All clan members seemed a bit panicked.

“You stay here; I’m going to the mountain’s summit!” Ye Xinghe left Ye Jingcheng and the others behind as he headed towards the peak.

Accompanying him were clan members of the Sea Generation in charge of the Demon Hunting Team’s Spiritual Ship and Ye Xingyu.

“Fourth Brother, Second Brother, Eldest Brother!” Ye Jingcheng also glanced toward the crowd.

His fourth brother Ye Jingyu, second brother Ye Jingyong, and eldest brother Ye Jingteng were all present.

Ye Jingteng was someone Ye Jingcheng saw sparingly, as Ye Jingteng, being the family’s Dual Spirit Root cultivator, joined the Taiyi Sect at an early age due to his extraordinary talent. It was said that he was already at the Qi Cultivation Eighth Layer, just a step away from the Ninth Layer, with hopes of reaching Foundation Establishment before forty!

“Jingcheng, you’re back?” It was Ye Jingyong, not Ye Jingyu, who spoke.

“The clan’s guardian spirit beast has gone berserk, out of control. For this reason, the patriarch even sent a message to recall Fourth Grandfather!”

Ye Jingcheng was stunned at this moment, filled with doubts; it was the first time the guardian spirit beasts had gone berserk in the Ye Family.

He suddenly recalled the family’s previous Blood Heart Pill scenario when the family’s finances were clearly strained, and the dealings with Hua Yu Sect had only barely been completed, with spirit stones falling short.

But surprisingly, the Blood Heart Pill ended up in the Ye Family’s possession.

Without deep reflection, it seemed unremarkable, but a careful thought revealed quite a riddle.

Ye Jingcheng felt regretful at this moment and was contemplating whether to check it out, given that he had the Ten Thousand Spirits Treasure Book.

The beast roars from the summit grew louder, and even Ye Jingcheng and others could feel the earth shaking.

It was as if a colossal beast was continuously shaking Lingyun Peak.

And one must know, Lingyun Peak had a Tier Two High-grade Mountain Protection Array!

Numerous bird and beast species were flying about; Ye Jingcheng saw Late Stage First Tier Firebirds and Late Stage First Tier Red Cloud Bees.

The Spirit Beasts hidden atop the mountain of the Ye Family appeared in the sight of the clan members.

One by one, the returning Ye Family cultivators of the Qi Cultivation Eighth and Ninth Layers headed towards the peak.

At the foot of the mountain, Ye Jingcheng, Ye Jingyu, and the like, those who were below the Qi Cultivation Eighth Layer, stood in readiness.

Of course, although Ye Jingteng was at the Qi Cultivation Eighth Layer, the family didn’t require him to partake, for, as the only Dual Spirit Root cultivator in the Jing Generation who joined the Taiyi Sect, he naturally could not be put at risk.

“Fourth Brother, this time the family…” Ye Jingcheng asked Ye Jingyu since, as the patriarch’s son, Ye Jingyu would know more.

Most importantly, he vaguely sensed fluctuations in Ye Jingyu’s cultivation.

This indicated that Ye Jingyu had certainly also cultivated the Beast Communication Pattern recently, and the contracted Spirit Beast should not be the Flying Cloud Leopard but the Spirit Beast inherited by the family.

“It’s from the medicine last time, tainted with the colorless and odorless Tier Two Bloodthirsty Demon Gu!”

“The poison acted very slowly, taking a full three years to erupt!” Ye Jingyu’s face was also grim.

The Ye Family’s current status among the four major families was related to their Spirit Beasts, and presently, the strongest in the Ye Family was this Turtle Ancestor.

Rumor had it this Turtle Ancestor had protected the Ye Family for five to six hundred years, attaining cultivation at the Late Stage of Second Tier.

Even those of the Sea Generation in the Ye Family, like Ye Haicheng, had to call it Turtle Ancestor.

If this Turtle Ancestor were to die, it would be a devastating blow to the Ye Family.

Therefore, all the family cultivators returned, and even Ye Haiyun, summoned back from the sect.

It was a great familial upheaval.

On the summit, magical combat began to appear, with countless Spiritual Lights surging among the peaks.

There were tiger roars, eagle cries, and various magical combat noises.

This scene made the clan members’ expressions darken further.

The situation was possibly worse than imagined; the Turtle Ancestor was unmatched by the current Ye Family cultivators, having no Spirit Contract, relying mainly on the Spirit Beast’s intelligence; now, with it going berserk, the consequences were dire!

The sky continuously changed, with the blazing sun hanging high in the firmament.

All Ye family members grew more anxious. Ye Jingcheng and others, who had waited for half a day, felt the same, while Ye Jingyu and others had already waited for several days.

Bang!

A massive Ice Crystal Arrow shot toward the Clan Protection Array, causing a booming tremor.

Cracks began to appear on the Spirit Shield, as if it would shatter any moment.

“All Ye Family members, wield Magical Artifacts, and isolate a thirty-mile radius around Lingyun Peak; no creatures are allowed to approach!” Ye Xingliu’s voice sounded.

This moment was particularly authoritative!

And Ye Jingyu was the first to head outside, being the patriarch’s son, he naturally took the lead!

Apart from Ye Jingyu, Ye Jingteng and Ye Jingyong did the same!

Members of the Jing Generation and those of low cultivation from the Xing and Sea Generations, except for those fixed to guard, all headed to lay a perimeter thirty miles around Lingyun Peak!

It was only upon looking that they realized, indeed, they discovered loose cultivators concealing themselves!

These were clearly spies from other forces.

The battle was imminent, and the Ye Family members, at this moment, could not allow the news to leak out.

Every single spy or loose cultivator had to die!

Ye Jingcheng also found a secluded spot and sent out a Sound Transmission Talisman towards the mountain peak of Lingyun Peak!

Though it might expose the Treasure Book, Ye Jingcheng knew if the clan waned, his days wouldn’t fare much better.

The most critical point was that the family did not guard against him, nor did they inquire about him, leaving Ye Jingcheng somewhat touched in his heart. He knew well that in the Cultivation Realm, feuds over treasures were rampant.

Moreover, his Treasure Book’s Spiritual Light couldn’t be detected by outsiders; he could easily claim he had a special Spirit Body capable of healing Spirit Beasts!

Besides, among the higher echelons of the Ye Family, it was largely suspected by everyone, more or less.

The Crimson Flame Fox inherently had a robust constitution, capable of misleading the younger generation of the Ye Family.

But for the elders of the Ye Family, they might not even need Spiritual Eye Divine Sense; a glance with the naked eye would suffice to discern the Spirit Beast’s condition!
