Beast Taming Clan: I Have a Jade Book

Chapter 13: Chapter 13: Tier One Middle-grade Alchemist

Inside the Earth Fire Room, the earth fire flared up as another spirit technique was unleashed.

The spirit patterns on the pill furnace suddenly dimmed.

The earth fire gradually receded as well.

With a beckon from Ye Jingcheng’s hand, the pill furnace fell into his hands.

The lid of the furnace flew up, revealing ten extremely full Spirit Nourishing Pills.

“Finally produced a full pill!”

Ye Jingcheng was overjoyed beyond measure. Entering the Earth Fire Room, he did not immediately begin refining Body Tempering Pills and Cyan Spirit Pills but chose the more familiar Spirit Nourishing Pills to improve his alchemy feel.

This was his third batch, and with the first two having been successful, this third batch being a full pill drastically boosted his confidence.

“See that, only by controlling fire like this can you refine these!” Ye Jingcheng took out a Spirit Nourishing Pill and placed it by the mouth of the nearby Red Flame Fox, then took out a bowl of spring water.

The Red Flame Fox anthropomorphically nodded its head, then consumed the Spirit Nourishing Pill and the spring water.

Ye Jingcheng then turned around and began wiping the pill furnace again, recharging the furnace.

The pill furnace soon became hot, its surface spirit patterns lighting up circle after circle in a very orderly manner.

Ye Jingcheng then placed the pill furnace back properly and started meditating to cultivate his heart spirit.

Alchemy drains one’s heart spirit, and while it cannot recover quickly in a short time,

meditating for a while is more beneficial for the alchemy later, and it also ensures that resting time is not wasted.

After cultivating for a few circulations, his heart spirit recovered somewhat, and he was satisfied as he awoke.

Upon awakening, he took out a jade talisman and started studying it.

This time, he planned to try refining Body Tempering Pills.

Although he was simultaneously observing the process of refining Cyan Spirit Pills and Body Tempering Pills, the Cyan Spirit Pills required five more kinds of spirit medicine than the Body Tempering Pills, making it more complex to refine.

At this critical juncture of breaking through to a Tier One Middle-grade Alchemist, naturally, he chose the simpler task.

Ye Jingcheng watched the pill formula jade talisman, observing for a full half an hour.

When he opened his eyes, he saw the Red Flame Fox with its mouth agape, spewing fire there.

However, the flame would occasionally turn into a fireball, spewed into the earth fire, transforming into a higher wave of fire.

Afterward, the Red Flame Fox needed to brew for quite a while before starting again.

Clearly, his direction wasn’t wrong, but the Red Flame Fox was still too young.

However, Ye Jingcheng believed that with continued guidance like this, it might not even need to reach the Late Stage of First Tier to assist with alchemy.

And with the restriction of the Earth Fire Room lifted, his alchemy skill would grow even faster.

Ye Jingcheng took out previously summarized jade talismans and once again viewed them from start to finish. Only after ensuring no mistakes did he begin alchemy once more.

His method of charging the furnace grew more skilled, and as each spirit medicine fell into the furnace, Ye Jingcheng’s brow furrowed slightly.

The next moment, a burnt smell wafted out, and the spirit patterns on the pill furnace dimmed.

“Failed!” Ye Jingcheng appeared extremely calm. He took back the pill furnace and carefully observed the pill residue inside, comparing it to the records in the pill formula jade talisman, finally storing the pill residue safely with a jade bottle.

Becoming an Alchemy Master, he must nurture spirit medicines in the future. Although these pill residues cannot be consumed, mixing them into the soil can enhance its spirituality.

He naturally wouldn’t waste them.

Ye Jingcheng then took out a jade talisman and continued to record and deduce.

Once confirming no issues, he reopened the furnace.

As the earth fire flared once more, Ye Jingcheng began his second refining.

However, the second attempt also failed, leaving a pile of waste residue in the furnace!

Undeterred, Ye Jingcheng continued refining, but failed again on the third attempt!

The fourth attempt failed as well!

Until the fifth attempt.

The pill furnace spun rapidly, with spirit patterns on it blooming like flowers, vividly coming to life in the flames.

Ye Jingcheng fired the last spirit technique, and the pill furnace flew steadily into the air, landing in his palm with a muffled sound.

The pill cauldron opened, revealing three extremely round Body Tempering Pills lying inside.

With a gesture, the Body Tempering Pills fell into his hand. After carefully examining them, he finally confirmed they matched the jade talisman.

“Finally succeeded!” Ye Jingcheng exhaled deeply, his face full of joy.

This also signified he had reached the level of a Tier One Middle-grade Alchemist. To know, among the over a hundred cultivators in the Ye Family, only three had reached Tier One High-grade Alchemist, while less than ten reached Tier One Middle-grade Alchemist!

Ye Jingcheng took out a pill bottle, storing the three Body Tempering Pills, but then heard the bell outside already ringing.

Evidently, the Ninth Elder Ye Haitian was already urging him.

Ye Jingcheng continued to wipe the pill furnace, charged the furnace once more, then tidied up the alchemy room before exiting.

At this moment, the others had begun selling the spirit pills they had.

Ye Jingcheng also took out the Spirit Nourishing Pills he refined earlier, exchanging twenty, getting 20 contribution points in total.

This time, Ye Haitian didn’t inquire about how many Spirit Nourishing Pills Ye Jingcheng refined.

Returning to his courtyard, Ye Jingcheng again took out a jade talisman, began cross-referencing, and started recording.

Successfully refining once, for him, was naturally not stable, with one success in five attempts; overall, the spirit stones were still a loss.

Summarizing experience, refining every time in the future is the way to prosperity.

The next year began to become monotonous, with Ye Jingcheng’s life remaining as two points and one line.

After several days of cultivation, he would go to the Earth Fire Room, and the Red Flame Fox practiced fire manipulation.

When refining spirit pills, whether by coincidence or not, he found that every time he went to the Earth Fire Hall, Ye Haiyun was also refining pills.

The refining pills were also Body Tempering Pills and Cyan Spirit Pills!

In this ongoing study and summarization, his alchemy experience grew increasingly rich.

He could now refine three batches of Body Tempering Pills out of every five attempts, and two batches of Cyan Spirit Pills out of every five!

As for Spirit Nourishing Pills, he almost never failed!

The Spirit Nourishing Pills were supporting his other pill refinements.

However, the Cyan Spirit Pills and Body Tempering Pills were rarely sold externally.

They almost all went into the mouths of him and the Red Flame Fox.

And under the influence of so many spirit pills, the change in the Red Flame Fox was the most significant. Now, the Red Flame Fox was no longer the small fox it started as, but a Fire Fox the size of a Cyan Cloud Wolf!

Its fur was as red as fire, constantly rippling with the wind, like blazing flames.

A striking two-banded spirit pattern was also starting to appear at its forehead.

Its strength had reached nearly the level of a Tier One Late Stage Demon Beast, stronger than Ye Jingcheng by quite a margin, and every sparring match ended with Ye Jingcheng being sent flying by the Red Flame Fox!

What pleased him was that the Ye Family had never inquired about the changes in the Red Flame Fox, seemingly having forgotten it entirely.

Ye Jingcheng was happy with this situation, as the support of the Cyan Spirit Pill accelerated his cultivation considerably, with the only drawback being the accumulation of erysipelas within him.

In the ancient book’s spiritual light, he also found it now able to fill two pages, seemingly related to his blood contract with the Red Flame Fox!

And on this day, a Sound Transmission Talisman appeared before Ye Jingcheng, a rare one summoned by Ye Xingliu, the current Patriarch of the Ye Family.

And the tone was very urgent!
