Beast Taming Clan: I Have a Jade Book

Chapter 5: Chapter 5: The Strength of the Red Flame Fox

In the days that followed, Ye Jingcheng was extremely busy.

He exchanged Antitoxic Pills and Blood Essence Pills once every five days and went to the Pill Pavilion to practice alchemy once every ten days.

At the end of the month, Ye Jingcheng was mentally and physically exhausted.

Even his daily cultivation was delayed.

But the results were extremely gratifying. Regarding the Ye Family, even without publicity, many cultivators were already aware that his Red Flame Fox had not died.

To Ye Jingcheng, this was the most important thing.

Besides, the Red Flame Fox’s powerful innate talent was the best cover.

In terms of spirit beasts, after a month of the Treasure Book’s spiritual light, the Red Flame Fox’s injuries had fully recovered.

Its fur was like crimson fire, its blue eyes were lively and spirited, and its large tail appeared thick and heavy.

The claws were especially sharp, leaving several plum blossom-like stone imprints on the stone table as it leaped up and down, making Ye Jingcheng both angry and pleased.

He stepped forward, patting the Red Flame Fox’s head, causing it to chirp continuously while also spitting out small, lively sparks!

“Don’t spray in here!”

This scene frightened Ye Jingcheng, and he quickly hugged the Red Flame Fox down. Spitting fire was definitely not something to be done indoors.

In his mind, the Red Flame Fox conveyed a craving divine soul fluctuation.

Evidently, under the Treasure Book, the Red Flame Fox was growing faster.

Ye Jingcheng took the Red Flame Fox outside and headed towards the clearing on the mountain.

The moment it leaped from his arms, the Red Flame Fox transformed into a crimson spirit shadow in the clearing.

Its speed was incredibly fast!

Ye Jingcheng was astonished by the Red Flame Fox’s speed. He cast a Light Body Skill on himself and chased after it, only to find that even with the Light Body Skill, he could hardly keep up with the Red Flame Fox!

Seemingly tired of playing, the Red Flame Fox chirped twice and leaped to Ye Jingcheng’s side.

Its voice was very light and nimble, yet it seemed somewhat excited and thrilled.

At this moment, it turned its head, its mouth wide open!

Boom!

A palm-sized fireball flew out, falling on the clearing, creating a massive black pit.

“Much more powerful than the Fireball Skill!” Ye Jingcheng was also delighted watching this scene!

He possessed the Fire, Earth, Water, and Wood Four Spirit Roots, and naturally knew the Fireball Skill. However, his casting was not as fast as the Red Flame Fox’s, and the power was much less, considering he was now at the Qi Cultivation Fourth Layer.

As it stood, the Red Flame Fox’s strength was at the mid-stage First Tier, estimated to be equivalent to the Qi Cultivation Fifth Layer in terms of a cultivator’s cultivation realm.

This indeed exceeded his expectations.

Furthermore, this scene seemed like the Red Flame Fox was demonstrating its combat power, as if it knew he planned to venture into those dangerous mountains in the coming days.

Its spiritual wisdom was remarkably extraordinary!

His Jade Ring Rat wasn’t much to mention; it would just squeak and squeak. He also inquired with his second brother, Ye Jingyong, whose Flying Cloud Leopard was at best comparable to the Qi Cultivation Third Layer now!

After spitting out the fireball, the Red Flame Fox rested at Ye Jingcheng’s feet, looking somewhat fatigued, its chirping also calming down a bit.

Ye Jingcheng then took out some Spirit Beast Meat and two Spirit Nourishing Pills and began to feed it.

The Red Flame Fox ate slowly, while he gently stroked its fur, feeling the warmth, pondering.

At that moment, a streak of crimson spiritual light flashed across the sky, landing in front of Ye Jingcheng.

He caught it with one hand; it was a Sound Transmission Talisman.

The Sound Transmission Talisman quickly burned, finally transforming into a message: Come quickly!

Ye Jingcheng hurriedly patted the Red Flame Fox’s head. The latter looked up, glanced at Ye Jingcheng, then swiftly devoured all the Spirit Beast Meat without chewing.

Following that, Ye Jingcheng used the Spirit Beast Bag to collect the Red Flame Fox!

Ye Jingcheng returned to the small courtyard to find that his brother, Ye Jingyong, his fourth brother, Ye Jingyu, and Ye Jingli were already at the door. Only Seventh Sister Ye Jingyu was absent from the group who selected spirit beasts that day.

“Jingcheng, we’re just waiting for you. Are you ready?” Ye Jingyong’s voice was loud.

“Second Brother, I’ve been ready for a while!” Ye Jingcheng replied with a smile, respectfully adding:

“Fourth Brother, Sixth Brother!”

“Jingcheng, I heard your Red Flame Fox survived?” Ye Jingyu also spoke. His words were extremely gentle, making people feel as if bathed in spring breeze.

“Yes, maybe it was luck; it pulled through!” Ye Jingcheng nodded.

“Cultivate it well; it has great potential!” Ye Jingyu seemed to imply something with his words.

Ye Jingcheng’s eyes lit up!

He had long suspected that the Ye Family might have hidden secrets.

It was known that this cultivation realm was called the Great Yu Cultivation Realm. Aside from the Ye Family, other families and sects placed great importance on spirit roots, yet the Ye Family was the exception!

Ye Jingcheng didn’t believe that the Ye Family was simply stubborn, just thinking that cultivating spirit beasts for magical combat was formidable.

As the patriarch’s son, Ye Jingyu obviously knew something. So when selecting spirit beasts, aside from Ye Jingcheng, no one else said half a word of letting.

The Ye Family’s spirit beasts were far more important than he imagined.

“Alright, let’s move, or it will be too late to change!” Ye Jingyu said, unwilling to continue the discussion.

Soon after, he took out a palm-sized small boat. With a toss into the air and the spiritual energy activated, the next moment it expanded with the wind, transforming into a blue wooden boat, no smaller than a tile-roofed house.

“Come on up!” Ye Jingyu stood at the forefront, maneuvering a spirit disc similar to a wooden rudder.

The three of them showed looks of envy in their eyes. For someone like Ye Jingcheng, he currently only owned a Tier One Lower Grade Magical Sword.

It was an ordinary magic sword for magical combat. If he used it for flying, his spiritual energy would be depleted in just a few moves!

Even so, his magic sword cost him seventy contribution points.

As for the spiritual ship, they didn’t dare even to think about it.

“This journey will take us to the outer depths of the Taihang Mountain Range. At that time, everyone will take turns to drive the magic disc. Jingcheng, your cultivation is the weakest, so you’ll be responsible for a quarter-hour; the others will take turns every half hour. The direction is guided by this spirit diagram!” Ye Jingyu took out a spirit diagram and inscribed the simple technique for controlling the spiritual ship on a jade talisman, allowing the other three to read it.

“Jingcheng, you can release your Jade Ring Rat first. It has a keen sense for detecting strong demon beasts. As for the Flying Cloud Leopard and Cyan-Scaled Snake, they will be released when we reach the destination; otherwise, our spiritual power consumption will increase!” Ye Jingyu instructed each one.

He notably omitted Ye Jingcheng’s Red Flame Fox, seemingly believing that even if the Red Flame Fox had recovered, it probably couldn’t be of any combat aid.

Ye Jingcheng didn’t say much. He released the Jade Ring Rat, whose appearance surprised all three.

The Jade Ring Rat, named for its jade-green ear resembling a large ring, was known for its incredible hearing and keen sense of smell, making it a popular spirit beast within the Ye Family.

But in just one month, Ye Jingcheng’s Jade Ring Rat seemed to have outgrown even their Flying Cloud Leopards!

Its fur was shiny, with a gentle spiritual glow emanating from it, its ears twitching endearingly.

“Jingcheng, your alchemy skills have improved again!” The spiritual light in Ye Jingyu’s eyes flashed. Ye Jingcheng nodded, internally marvelling at how his fourth brother seemed to think faster than most!

He had been somewhat startled too. He hadn’t expected the Jade Ring Rat to grow so quickly, knowing it had only shared a little of the Treasure Book’s spiritual light meant for the Red Flame Fox.

Yet his fourth brother had cleverly come up with an explanation for him!
