Hidden Marriage, Overbearing Love: Mr! Please Let Me Go

She followed the disappearing figure of Beitang Yao, glanced around, but couldn’t see any trace of him. Her heart tightened faintly.

”I’m sorry.” Xia Qingqian quickly bowed her head, apologizing for her discourtesy.

”Are you okay?” The man squatted down as well, noticed her swollen ankle, and simply said, ”Sorry, I was being presumptuous.”

Before Xia Qingqian could grasp what was happening, she suddenly found herself in the man’s arms. She gasped and struggled, ”Who are you? Put me down!”

How could he just hold her like that?

”Miss Xia, I forgot to introduce myself. I’m Beitang Che, your Young Master Yao’s elder brother.” The man didn’t let go of Xia Qingqian but carried her to the pavilion nearby, placed her on a stone bench, and crouched down to examine her injury. ”You’ve sprained your ankle. Rest here for a while; I’ll have someone take you back soon.”

”How do you know about me?” She was curious. If she remembered correctly, they had never met, right?

His name sounded nice, but Beitang Yao’s name was even nicer.

”Haha, the day Yao brought you to the castle, I was present, though you didn’t notice me.” Beitang Che chuckled softly and continued, ”You’re quite the talk of the castle, you know, because you’re Yao’s woman. Everyone is curious about you.”

She felt a bit embarrassed, her head lowered, unaware her arrival had caused such a stir.

She quickly explained, ”You’ve misunderstood!”

”Misunderstood what? Aren’t you Yao’s woman? How could that be wrong?” Beitang Che sat down beside her as well, ”Mind if I take a look at your foot?”

Xia Qingqian quickly moved her foot over. Her foot was nothing to look at, let alone having a stranger inspect it, making her uneasy.

”I’m fine, just sitting for a while will do.” She declined politely.

”By the way, weren’t you going to see Grandpa with Yao? Where is Yao? Why did he leave you here alone?” Beitang Che glanced around but couldn’t see Yao, finally his gaze settled back on her.

”Yao had something to attend to and left earlier. I couldn’t keep up with his pace...” The thought of Beitang Yao’s cold and sorrowful gaze as he left made her heart ache. She didn’t know why, but she truly couldn’t bear seeing Beitang Yao like this.

”I’ll just sit here by myself; you go ahead if you’re busy.” Xia Qingqian was really uncomfortable being with strangers. Seeing Beitang Che still by her side, she was really worried that Young Master might return at this moment and get upset seeing her with another man.

Beitang Che stood up, laughing twice, ”Is Miss Xia trying to drive me away? Am I that unwelcome to you?”

”No, I mean, I won’t delay your work. You go ahead if you’re busy.” Xia Qingqian shook her head quickly upon hearing this.

She really didn’t know how to reject others’ kindness.

Where did Young Master Yao go? Has he really walked away without realizing he’s left her behind?

”I’ve just returned a few days ago, staying in the castle all day is boring, and the weather is clear now, I want to walk around and relax.” Beitang Che slightly tilted his head, the bright sunlight outside causing him to squint.

”Oh.” She responded lightly, wondering, could he have something bothering him?

Oh well, this has nothing to do with her. Why should she care so much? Honestly!
