Hidden Marriage, Overbearing Love: Mr! Please Let Me Go

She slowly closed her eyes, and only after his icy lips left did she slowly open them and nodded in response: ”Mm, thank you, Yao.” This time, she allowed herself a moment of caprice, calling him by his name.

Beitang Yao straightened up, stared at her somewhat dazedly, and finally said nothing more, turning to leave, leaving her alone in the lounge.

Xia Qingqian didn’t think much about Beitang Yao’s gaze before he turned around and left; all she wanted now was to fall asleep quickly to alleviate the discomfort of airsickness.

A piercing pain stabbed into her temples, as if two slender silver needles were slowly pushing in. She lightly patted her head a few times, trying her best to drift into sleep, which would help alleviate the simmering ache.

She thought about how Beitang Yao allowed her to call him by his name, how he carried her back to rest after discovering she didn’t dare walk on the plane. Although he was a cold, aloof man, his occasional tenderness inexplicably filled her heart with a sense of pleasant happiness, making her lips involuntarily curl up.

As these thoughts crossed her mind, she drifted into a deep sleep, and the symptoms of airsickness seemed to be alleviated.

She slept soundly, while Beitang Yao was sitting outside on the sofa, still seriously reviewing documents. Occasionally, when his coffee ran out, a servant would come up to refill it.

From beginning to end, Beitang Yao worked diligently, with no idle time to attend to anything else.

His phone was held by the servant until the vibrating sound went off, and the servant respectfully handed it over, saying softly: ”Young Master, it’s the master calling.”

As the servant handed over the phone, she was thinking that the Young Master must really care about Xia Qingqian resting inside the lounge. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have kept the phone on vibrate to avoid disturbing Xia Qingqian, and he’d instructed her not to bother Xia Qingqian while she rested.

A Young Master like this is incredibly rare, or perhaps never seen before.

The Young Master seems to carry with him a calm and indifferent demeanor from birth, having long lost the warmth that ordinary people should possess. Yet when the Young Master looks at Xia Qingqian, his gaze is so gentle, the intensity of it makes one’s eyes unable to open.

Beitang Yao looked at the caller ID, hesitated for a few seconds, and finally answered: ”What do you want?” His tone was extremely cold, sounding nothing like a person speaking to their own family.

The servant listening on the side felt a chill run down their spine, involuntarily shivering.

Suddenly, the Young Master’s cold voice spoke again, ”Ye Feng has already sent Ziqian back to the Gu Family. You all don’t have the right to interfere with my life. If you have time, spend it with Grandpa, instead of getting involved out there!”

”Since when did you start paying attention to my affairs? Didn’t you dislike me being with Mom? Or is it that you’re just worried my decisions will negatively affect Beitang Group? I can clearly tell you that Beitang Group will never be ruined by me.”

”Under my management, Beitang Group doesn’t need outside help! You guys needn’t bother with your schemes! Even if Beitang Group were on the brink of collapse, ten Gu Ziqians wouldn’t revive it.”

”I will explain things to Grandpa, it’s not your place to bring allegations. Besides, Gu Ziqian isn’t even Beitang’s wife yet, why are you all so tense?”

”Nothing else, that’s it.”

All along the way, his voice was cold as a glacier, devoid of any warmth.
