Lin Tian’s originally somewhat embarrassed face suddenly became solemn as he spoke with gravity, “If other people from the village had come across it, maybe the whole village would have known by now!”

So it’s my fault now?

Hearing Lin Tian’s words, Fang Shilei’s face filled with shock, and after a long moment, she angrily said, “Bastard, this…

this is the wilderness, and there’s no one else here, how can that be wrong?

It was clearly you who were peeking at me…”

It does seem to be the case!

Lin Tian blinked, but if he didn’t offer a defense, it would become true that he had been peering, and although he was here to do good, he would be seen as the bad guy, which just wouldn’t do.

He immediately continued, “Even if it’s the wilderness, that’s still not okay!

What if it damages the flowers and plants or harms the crops?

Also, what if other children, whose minds are not yet fully developed, see it?

Wouldn’t that be teaching them bad things?

That’s just uncivilized!

Luckily, they ran into me!”

Having said all this, Lin Tian was neither anxious nor flushed.

There was no other way; he just couldn’t admit it.

If word got back to the village, the trouble would be great.

The villagers revered their teachers dearly, especially those rare ones willing to come teach in such a poor village.

If they knew he had any improper intentions, not to mention whether his parents would scold him or not, the village elders would definitely have him up for public criticism.

So, Lin Tian could only resort to shamelessness this one time!

Pfft~~

Fang Shilei’s mind was in chaos, almost spitting up blood.

It was clearly the other person’s fault, and yet now it had somehow become her fault.

Bastard!

That’s just shameless!

Inwardly, Fang Shilei clenched her teeth and cursed furiously.

“Hooligan, get lost now, I have to wash clothes!

I don’t want to see you!”

A mix of anger and grievance filled Fang Shilei’s heart as she scolded Lin Tian, wanting to chase him away.

“Teacher, this is purely accidental!

If you don’t believe me, there’s nothing I can do!”

Lin Tian silenced himself, feeling speechless.

The incident had already occurred, and he knew that any explanation would be in vain, so he immediately shut up and handed over the clothes, “Teacher, here are your clothes.

Be careful not to lose them next time!”

Looking at the items Lin Tian handed over, Fang Shilei paused and stared.

“Ah…

you damned hooligan!

No wonder I couldn’t find my clothes just now; you had stolen them!

Stealing clothes and then peeping…

just whose child are you!”

Fang Shilei snatched her clothes back, berating Lin Tian furiously, with tears brimming in her beautiful eyes, signaling her sense of injustice.

Just a moment ago, while she was washing clothes, she had noticed one of her garments was missing and searched for a good while without success.

Now she understood that it had been stolen by the hooligan before her.

And from the current situation, it was clear this guy must have been nearby all along.

Having stolen her clothes and then continuing to spy on her…

“Get lost!”

Fang Shilei’s cute nose twisted with fury as she yelled angrily.

Lin Tian stood dumbfounded, his mouth hanging open.

He had simply delivered the other person’s clothes that had floated downstream, intending to do a good deed, and now he went from being accused of peeping to stealing clothes, essentially being labeled worthless.

But he was unable to explain himself because, caught “red-handed,” any defense seemed futile.

This was truly being misunderstood to the extreme!

“I’m leaving now!”

Lin Tian pouted and decided not to argue with the woman anymore.

Shaking his head, he walked back towards the lotus area downstream.

Returning, Lin Tian found Big Head had already caught five or six fish the size of his palm, all jumping around in the basket.

And Little Fatty had managed to catch a plump catfish, which had her grinning from ear to ear.

On the other hand, Xu Tangge, seeing only a tiny fish the size of two fingers on her hook, wore a look of dejection.

“Haha, dazed one, you’ve lost!

Do you want to keep fishing?

Or shall we go grill the fish now, along with preparing the sweet potato roast?

I’ve already put a bunch of sweet potatoes on that piece of fallow ground by the entrance to Youlan Valley!”

Big Head was ready to pack up his fishing rod, his face brimming with pride.

Lin Tian looked up at the sky, noting the sun was rising, and if they waited any longer, the midday heat would be unbearable.

“Sure, let’s get to grilling the fish and preparing the sweet potato roast—I’ve got this!”

Lin Tian smiled in agreement.

Grilling fish was too easy!

In his previous life, he didn’t know how many times he had endured harsh training and battles in the wild, where grilling game was as easy as lifting a finger.

As for the sweet potato roast, with memories in his mind, it wasn’t foreign to him either.

As a kid, he had often made sweet potato roasts with his friends from the village on that fallow ground outside Youlan Valley, smoking rats, catching snakes, hunting rabbits, and so forth, searching for various types of game.

That fallow ground outside Youlan Valley was the perfect place for sweet potato roasts.

“Sweet potato roast?

I’ve heard about that!

I’ve heard about that!

Lin Tian, later you have to teach me how to build a sweet potato roast…

I hear it’s fun!”

Xu Tangge, who had caught only a pitiful little fish, had her gloomy expression wiped away instantly, excitedly exclaiming upon hearing about the sweet potato roast.

“No problem, building a sweet potato roast is very simple.

Let’s go!”

Lin Tian smiled, and after Big Head packed up, the group of four headed upstream towards the fallow land outside Youlan Valley.

However.

As the four walked upstream, they reached Clear Water Bay, where Fang Shilei was washing clothes.

She hadn’t left yet and was still there.

Hearing the commotion, Fang Shilei looked up.

Her gaze fixed on Lin Tian, she huffed angrily, “Hooligan!

What…

what are you doing here again!”

“I…

I’m just passing by to go upstream!”

Lin Tian rolled his eyes and replied helplessly.
