Bei Zhiqi, seeing the girl starting to speak, suddenly remembered something.

She pulled the girl over and said, “This is Guo Dan, your Uncle Guo’s daughter!”

“Guo Dan, this is your Brother Lin Tian.

He’s four years older than you!

He had just left when you were conceived!

He was four years old that year!”

As she spoke, Bei Zhiqi pointed at Lin Tian and commanded, “Go on, call him!”

“Brother Lin Tian!”

Guo Dan pursed her lips, visibly reluctant to speak.

A country bumpkin, and I have to call him brother?

How embarrassing!

Muttering a complaint to herself, Guo Dan then continued to ask, “Then why do they call him Muuu Lengzi?”

“You child, that was his nickname when he was little.

Don’t bring it up again!

Besides, Brother Lin Tian is older than you.

Don’t be disrespectful!”

Bei Zhiqi glanced at the calm Lin Tian, then glared at Guo Dan and scolded her quietly.

Guo Dan pouted, visibly annoyed, and secretly glared at Lin Tian.

“Ha ha…Zhiqi, it’s just a nickname.

Back then, these little guys called me Tongtian Tu too!”

Guo Hetong was an easygoing person.

He didn’t take these minor things to heart and patiently explained to his daughter, “When your Brother Lin Tian was little, he was quite shy and not very social.

He used to sit alone and watch the sky, just like a block of wood, hence the name Muuu Lengzi.

Besides, with the surname Lin and liking to be alone, it all added up!

He always looked at the sky, so your Uncle Lin eventually named him Lin Tiandao!”

“So that’s why, I get it now!”

Guo Dan’s face showed a sudden understanding, and she looked at Lin Tian with disdain, while secretly sneering that he was just a country fool.

At that moment, Bei Zhiqi glanced at Guo Hetong and, after a slight hesitation, still asked, “Lin Tian, how is your dad?”

Beside her, Guo Hetong quickly turned his head to look at the sky, pretending not to hear.

Seeing this, Lin Tian found it amusing but soon sighed and said, “Aunt Bei, my dad had an accident.

He’s paralyzed from the waist down and has been bedridden for years!”

“What!”

Both Bei Zhiqi and Guo Hetong showed a look of shock.

Seeing their reactions, Lin Tian was surprised.

“Haven’t you been back to Youlan Village?”

“Not yet!

Your Uncle Guo and I just got off the plane a little while ago.

We’re attending a banquet tonight!

We’ll go visit your dad in a couple of days.”

Bei Zhiqi sighed softly, her face turning somber, seemingly unsure how to comfort Lin Tian.

She then changed the subject, “Lin Tian, why are you here at Minghu Lakefront District?

It’s summer vacation, aren’t you going home?”

“Oh, I haven’t gone home yet.

I’ve been here in Bin City working a summer job.

I’ll be heading back in a few days!”

Lin Tian smiled faintly, giving a vague explanation, “As for Minghu Lakefront, I…

I just came in for a walk!”

“What, you came here to Minghu Lakefront for a walk?

You must be joking!”

Guo Dan burst out first, frowning and said, “This is one of the most exclusive residential areas in Bin City.

Just getting past the security at the gate would be the first challenge.

I think you must have sneaked in!

It doesn’t matter if you get caught, but if you accidentally scratch someone’s car or break something, I’m afraid all your family’s assets wouldn’t cover the damages!”

Hearing the girl’s words, Lin Tian furrowed his brows.

He had just wanted to give an excuse to get by; he hadn’t expected to be scolded by this girl first.

“Guo Dan, watch your language!”

Bei Zhiqi scolded loudly, then said to Lin Tian, “Xiao Tian, don’t mind it, Dandan is just spoiled by us!

But sneaking in here for a walk isn’t really appropriate!

And staying alone in Bin City, how can you manage?

Here’s what, why don’t you and Aunt Bei go to a banquet tonight, just to relax a bit!”

“Ah, I totally forgot about that!”

Suddenly, Guo Hetong slapped his forehead and said with a smile, “Xiao Tian, it’s not easy to run into fellow townspeople when you’re away from home.

Tonight, Uncle Guo will show you a good time!

Elder Kong from the Bin City Kong Family reached out after hearing I was back, and he wanted to invite our whole family over.

You should come with us and see the world!”

Invited by Kong Family?

What a coincidence!

Lin Tian appeared stunned and was secretly amazed.

“What are you spacing out for?

My parents are talking to you!”

Guo Dan, sitting opposite, saw Lin Tian was distracted and frowned, scolding, “My parents told me the Kong Family is quite low-key here in Bin City, not very prominent, but back in Yanjing, they were one of the great clans.

And now, the Kong Family has a genius emerging, and it’s said they are on the rise!

My dad really helped the Kong Family Head and owes him a favor, so we are the only family invited to this banquet at the Bin City International Hotel.

It’s a perfect chance to bring you along to see the world!”

Hearing the girl’s condescending tone, Lin Tian was unaffected and said calmly, “Uncle Guo, Aunt Bei, it’s okay, you go ahead without me!”

“Lin Tian, don’t be afraid.

Come with us, no one will say anything!”

Bei Zhiqi completely missed the underlying meaning in Lin Tian’s words and comforted him with a gentle smile, “Once there, you can eat delicious food and have lots of fun, plus it will be good to widen your experience!”

“Aunt Bei, thank you!

But really, it’s not necessary.

You go ahead.

Tonight, if I need to, I’ll head over by myself!”

Lin Tian shook his head and declined again with a smile.

“Well, okay then.”

Bei Zhiqi and Guo Hetong could see Lin Tian was reluctant and didn’t press any further.

But Guo Dan coldly said, “You really don’t know what’s good for you!

We’re offering to introduce you to the world, and you don’t appreciate it!

Do you even know who will be at this banquet?

All the top big shots from the entire Southern Continent!

And you want to go there by yourself?

Just don’t get thrown out by the security!”

“Okay Dandan, maybe Brother Lin Tian doesn’t like that kind of setting!”

Bei Zhiqi interrupted Guo Dan and then smiled at Lin Tian, “Since you don’t want to go, then let it be.

But in the future, don’t sneak in here again.

Getting caught wouldn’t be good.

In a few days, your Uncle Guo and I will come back to check on your dad…”

After a few more pleasantries, Guo Hetong and his family bid goodbye to Lin Tian and left.

Once the three had left the Minghu Lakefront, Lin Tian leisurely walked back to the Guanlan Lake District.

That night, an hour before the banquet started, Lin Tian left his place and headed to the Bin City International Hotel.

With an invitation in hand, Lin Tian had no trouble entering and made his way to the 68th floor where the banquet was being held.

Bin City International Hotel was one of Bin City’s iconic buildings.

Standing in the banquet hall on the 68th floor, through the floor-to-ceiling windows, one could overlook the entire city lights of Bin City stretching to the horizon.

Thus, not only was the 68th floor revered numerically by many influential figures for superstitious reasons, but also because its location offered a panoramic view of the scenery below.

As he stepped into the banquet hall, which was still quite empty,

it was clear Lin Tian had arrived early.

However, he didn’t mind.

After entering, his Divine Sense quickly spread out

and the next moment, in a private room at the back of this floor, he saw Xu Tangge, guarded by two men in black, looking gloomy while sitting on a couch.

Now Lin Tian finally breathed a sigh of relief, knowing Xu Tangge was safe, everything else would be manageable.
