One-Eyed Monster

Yuga furrowed his brow. Ever since he heard the analysis and speculations from Kuren and the others, his brow had remained knitted.

He didn’t know where the limit of this Dark Force lay, but its power to draw so many people into its protective environment at once was definitely beyond their capabilities. In Yuga’s experience, this level of telepathic attack was already invincible. At least he, once one of the six sages of the Wizard Alliance, had no way to deal with such an opponent.

”I don’t recall ever encountering such a formidable opponent.”

Kuren and Stan Sol also fell silent. If even Yuga found this opponent troublesome, it was sure to be incredibly difficult to deal with.

”No matter how strong the opponent is, we must at least try!” Kadi declared, a staunch supporter of Igor’s plan. Although he wasn’t the most powerful, nor the kind of person with commanding leadership abilities, his persistence in a matter was quite steadfast. Even when facing Yuga, the most respected Wizard on Guru Mountain aside from the Great Mentor, he would not yield. This was his promise to Igor. It was also the only way to connect everyone, and he was unwilling to give up without trying.

”Just the few of us?” Yuga looked at the excited Kadi. Tenacity is a good quality, but one mustn’t forget one’s own capabilities. One shouldn’t look down on everything due to arrogance. In the current situation, everything must be considered thoroughly. After all, they couldn’t afford to be depleted.

”No, I’m going to gather everyone!” Kadi said, his gaze resolute, like a fearless warrior about to charge into battle.

”How are we supposed to gather everyone in this situation?” Yuga asked again. He was very puzzled and didn’t know where Kadi’s confidence came from.

”He’s using the Ant Connection Spell,” Kuren, who was beside them, spoke up. He understood Yuga’s concerns, but he also knew Kadi’s determination, so the role of mediator naturally fell to him.

”The Ant Connection Spell?” Yuga exclaimed in disbelief.

”Yes, and Kadi seems to have an innate gift; his Spirit Power appears to be inexhaustible,” Kuren continued to explain.

”His Spirit Power seems to easily break through my defensive line; I can’t prepare in time at all,” Stan Sol added.

Kadi himself was unaware of this innate gift of his; this was also the first time he had heard of it. Yuga remained skeptical of these claims. He believed that no one could possess inexhaustible Spirit Power, much less be able to casually breach someone else’s Spirit Defense wall.

”Further talk is useless. Kadi, if you take Wizard Yuga to experience it, everything will be clear,” Kuren quickly suggested.

So, Kadi once again led the team he had gathered onward, still following the network lines to their end. There weren’t many lines left. Kadi felt he was close to fully understanding the entire network. This time, they encountered Arnold at the end of the line.

This two-faced individual constantly tried to detach and Space Jump through different realities, yet he still couldn’t break apart the sealed space. Regardless of the time or space, the invaders all wore the same expression, showing no trace of fear or surprise.

”This is the effect of the Ant Connection Spell?” Yuga was very curious. He found it incredible that a technique created by Alchemists could possess such a strange function.

”Initially, this technique was simply used to provide Spirit Vision for Alchemists when they were setting up their formations,” Kuren always chimed in as the explainer at the right moment.

”Do you mean what we’re seeing now is a Spirit Vision?” Yuga asked again for confirmation. This was the first time he had encountered such a thing.

”Correct, it’s just a perspective,” Kadi replied this time.

”Tsk tsk, so one can only watch, not interact. It certainly has its limitations,” Yuga commented lightly, his tone holding a hint of regret.

”Yes, but this is probably the most direct way we can communicate right now,” Kuren added.

Simultaneously, Kadi began to explain to Yuga why he was able to communicate with them within this perspective.

”Are you saying I’m also one of these so-called ’Awakened’?”

It was another unfamiliar term. However, Yuga wasn’t one to reject unfamiliar things; it was precisely because of this trait that he had joined the Alchemy Workshop’s Purification Plan without hesitation. Although joining the Purification didn’t end too well, his open-mindedness towards new things was genuine.

”That’s right. The definition of ’Awakened’ is quite vague, and this is our first time encountering it too,” Kuren explained.

Kadi couldn’t get a word into such discussions. Being unable to enter the Inner World was his critical weakness, after all.

”So, according to what you’re saying, the Wind Elemental isn’t a gift from the Natural Forces, but a Spirit?”

”According to what that Spirit said, yes.” Actually, they had discussed this issue once before when they were outside. However, at that time, they were considering many other factors and didn’t pay it much attention. Now, with communication becoming an obstacle within the telepathic attack, this question had resurfaced.

”Could it be that Spirits are inherently repulsed by this Dark Force?” Stan Sol boldly hypothesized.

Kuren didn’t quite understand the logic. What does that have to do with repulsion?

”Because of this repulsion, we haven’t witnessed this Dark Force’s telepathic attack,” Stan Sol added.

That seemed to have some truth to it, and Kuren was momentarily convinced.

”Actually, we can verify it.” Yuga shrugged. These young people nowadays always get hung up on theoretical matters, he thought. Since the Wind Elemental is a Spirit, wouldn’t we find out by just summoning it and seeing?

”So, what should we do then?” Kadi suddenly asked. Sometimes, the more one discussed, the more confused one became. Fortunately, Kadi was always confused, so he was always full of anticipation for whatever they were going to do next.

”Let me try summoning the Wind Elemental and see.” After saying this, Yuga began to prepare his Spellcraft incantation.

”Once the Wind Elemental joins us, I believe we’ll be able to connect with everyone!” Kadi suddenly declared with newfound confidence.

Kuren looked at Kadi with an envious expression. Youth is truly wonderful, he thought. If only I had that kind of drive.

Whether the method to connect everyone was reliable or not was unknown, but seeing Kadi’s confident appearance, the others were also infected by his spirit. They too were eager to find out where their limits lay.

So, let them ignite their passion—for everyone’s sake, and for their own perseverance.

Whether they could truly connect everyone through the Ant Connection Spell was the question they were now focused on.

The Wind Elemental gradually began to manifest. This time, it took Yuga a little longer than usual to summon it.

The specific reason for this would require them to slowly investigate and find out for themselves.
