One-Eyed Monster

Igor’s surging emotions brought a spark of excitement to his weakened state, like a shot of adrenaline, his spirits suddenly lifted.

”Kadi,” Igor quickly calmed down. He knew that in what was about to happen, Kadi would have to be the main force. ”You have a lot to do next.”

”Just give the word. I’ll definitely do my best to accomplish it.” Kadi didn’t hesitate; he had been looking forward to Igor saying this. Battling against the Dark Force was his desire too.

If he had enough power to deal with this Dark Force, he would have taken action long ago. After all, he didn’t like his current state at all; he wished the environment were more relaxed and pleasant. But not everything could go according to his wishes. Life is like that; things can’t always go smoothly. Luckily, Kadi now had the chance to change the current situation. Facing this opportunity, Kadi felt a sense of relief. He also felt blessed to have a friend like Igor. Coming up, even if it meant climbing a mountain of knives or diving into a Sea of Fire, Kadi wouldn’t hesitate, because the most important thing for him now was to find a way to defeat the Dark Force. Since Igor could provide this method, then everything would be up to Igor. That’s Kadi’s current mindset. He wouldn’t blindly trust just anyone. The reason he trusted Igor unconditionally was because Igor always seemed reliable. Moreover, they had been working together with very few mistakes, and from beginning to end, he had always felt that Igor’s methods suited him perfectly.

And so, the two youths began to sound their horn of counterattack.

Although the horn wasn’t very loud, it did not affect their determination.

This was a battle without gunpowder smoke. Kadi didn’t know how to describe this confrontation, but regardless, everything had now fallen silent; they could no longer even hear the nagging of the Dark Force.

Is this the Inner World? Kadi had been wondering just a moment ago. He really wanted to enter the Inner World to take a look, not because the Inner World was so magical, but because Igor could enter and he couldn’t. He felt it was a pity.

Kadi quietly waited for Igor’s command, but at this moment, Igor remained silent. Although this silence didn’t last long, Kadi felt as if he had been waiting for a very, very long time.

”We will need to use the Ant Connection Spell.” Finally, Igor spoke. Kadi could hear the fatigue in his voice.

”What exactly have you guys been through?” At this, Kadi suddenly felt it necessary to know what kind of blow Igor and the others had suffered during this time.

He felt that if he knew, he would better understand this Dark Force and then be able to defeat these enemies more effectively.

”We… experienced unbearable things. We had no ability to resist the enemy’s invasion. It was truly unbearable,” Igor managed to utter this long sentence, clearly exhausted. He was so tired at this moment; all he wanted was to close his eyes and sleep soundly.

However, Kadi’s question also suddenly reminded Igor that if he truly fell asleep at this moment, he might lose himself forever.

Losing oneself... for someone who cherished freedom, this was indeed too painful.

”Kadi, if I remain silent for a long time, you must firmly follow my instructions. You are our only hope now.” Igor hurriedly factored his concern into their plan. After all, they weren’t in control right now, so anything could happen. They needed to consider how to cope even if the worst-case scenario occurred.

Taking the first step wasn’t easy. Igor knew that the only part he could control was sharing his thoughts. This might consume much of his Spirit Power, but it didn’t matter; he trusted Kadi, just as Kadi trusted him.

This was a tacit understanding, the kind that allowed them to trust each other even in such an extreme environment.

”You mean causing a disturbance?” Kadi confirmed with Igor. He could sense the gritted-teeth determination Igor had while explaining the entire plan, so to be absolutely sure, he had to confirm it again.

This confirmation was to be responsible towards Igor and also not to betray Igor’s trust. Igor had described everything in no small detail, but Kadi still wanted to confirm it once more. After all, ’causing a disturbance’ sounded a bit unreliable.

”Yes,” Igor responded, still weakly.

”Alright, I understand.” After confirming, Kadi became more determined. For him, all this came naturally; causing a disturbance was his forte.

Since it’s about causing a disturbance, then let’s make it a big one!

Kadi began to map out his plan in his mind. According to what Igor said, first I have to use the Ant Connection Spell, using this technique to try and connect everyone. That way, we can contact the seniors at this critical moment. Then we can proceed to the most important part of the plan – communication. With communication established, we can then devise a targeted solution and defeat the enemies one by one. By then, we’ll be able to see the hope of victory.

Kadi quietly pondered the logic behind all this. Igor really is a genius, he thought. To think of such a method in such a desperate situation is truly remarkable.

Right now, Kadi was the only one among them all who was free. He had also successfully reached out to Igor for help, so from now on, everything depended on him.

Igor had said everything he needed to say; how to act next was up to Kadi.

It seems like a difficult task, but for me, there’s no way back. My friends and my mentor are all trapped. The only one who can act is me. Do I even have a choice? Now that the first step has been taken, no matter what immense difficulties lie ahead, I have to see it through.

Kadi began to expand the range of his Spirit Power. This was the first time he had felt this miraculous energy, and gradually, he became adept at distinguishing the Spirit Power of others.

It wasn’t a particularly difficult task. It was just that Kadi had never had any interest in such things before. Now, however, it was different. If he didn’t familiarize himself with it, he might not be able to perform the Ant Connection Spell, and then he wouldn’t be able to launch a counterattack.

Fortunately, I’m not a fool; at critical moments, I can still distinguish priorities. The first step has already been taken, so the second and third steps won’t be far behind.

Kadi firmly believed that they could defeat this bizarre enemy. Although they didn’t know exactly what was happening now, at least they were still very clear internally: no matter what, this invading enemy was always there, swaggering and making them feel extremely uncomfortable.
