Ascension from Dual Professions

Chapter 146: Chapter 145: All-out Counterattack

The Demon, its strength nearly at the Official Level, was effortlessly slain by Jon in a single strike!

The Eternal Frost Cultist hiding behind the scenes clearly realized Jon was not to be trifled with. They stopped clamoring to ”eternally seal” him and instead silently manipulated the blizzard, attempting to impede his advance.

But as the black snow—so dense it felt solid and capable of inflicting terrible frostbite—drew near Jon, it melted instantly!

’Hmph, petty tricks...’

After a cold snort, he immediately issued a command, his voice reaching Xia, Xina, and Big Mimi with perfect clarity.

”Xia, Xina, you and Big Mimi go link up with Viscount Paris. I’m going to find the one who’s hiding!”

The moment he finished speaking, his entire body was engulfed in blazing Dragon Flame as he fearlessly slammed into the wall of wind and snow conjured by the Eternal Frost Cultist!

HIIISSSS—!

The dark gray barrier of wind and snow, infused with bone-chilling cold and Negative Energy, hissed and dissolved like snow under a searing hot iron the instant it touched the raging Crimson Gold Flame on Jon’s body.

Ice Crystals vaporized instantly, and the blizzard was violently torn asunder, parting to form a blazing corridor!

Without the slightest hesitation, Jon’s figure, like a molten meteor tearing through the darkness, plunged into the depths of the churning, gray vortex filled with the shrieks of Resentful Spirits. He left behind only a silhouette that, while quickly blurring in the blizzard, still radiated scorching Power.

The Resentful Spirits couldn’t even get close to him before being incinerated.

ROAR—!

Big Mimi let out a deafening roar, both in response to its master’s command and as a threat to the pesky Resentful Spirits nearby.

Its powerful scorpion tail lashed out, swatting away several pouncing Resentful Spirits. Then, with a mighty beat of its broad wings, its massive body performed a nimble spin in mid-air before landing steadily just ahead and to the side of Viscount Paris’s party, who had just bypassed the blizzard wall and were still reeling in shock from the scene.

It lowered its body, its sharp, gleaming claws digging deep into the frozen earth. Its ice-blue eyes scanned the surroundings vigilantly, a solid, dependable fortress shielding Paris and his Warriors.

”Sister, defensive formation!”

Xina reacted just as quickly. With a sharp cry, she landed on Big Mimi’s back and clasped her hands before her chest. Pure Sun’s Saint Radiance erupted from her palms, instantly expanding into a semicircular Shield that enveloped Paris, Notary, and all the members of the exploration team who had just regrouped.

”Understood!”

Xia sprang into action, her face still flushed with excitement from the battle.

Beating her Light Wings, she soared high into the air. At the same time, she raised her holy staff, and streams of golden [Sunfire Rays] shot out like precise, sharp arrows, instantly piercing and purifying the Resentful Spirits that tried to pounce on the crowd from the flanks and rear.

Paris Manola gripped his sword hilt tightly, his eyes glued to the scene unfolding before him. His heart was still pounding from what he had just witnessed.

That figure clad in Crystal Armor, wielding Dragon Flame, treating Resentful Spirits and Demons as if they were nothing... The sheer, furious Power and fearless posture he displayed were like a dragonslayer from myth and Legend descending upon the mortal world!

”That man... could he be a Divine Favored of the Sun God?”

Paris’s voice was filled with uncontainable astonishment, and even a hint of awe.

He had met countless people in his life, but never had he seen such an astonishingly powerful Warrior. Even the high and mighty Grand Knights seemed to lack such a majestic aura.

Knight Notary was equally stunned. He had personally experienced how tenacious the blizzard and the Resentful Spirits were, so he understood better than anyone what the level of power Jon had just displayed truly meant.

But he didn’t dwell on his shock and instead immediately spoke up.

”My Lord, this is no time to stand here in awe!”

”That man has gone to root out the mastermind. We must coordinate with him!”

Paris snapped back to reality, his eyes regaining the sharp, decisive look of a Lord.

”You’re right, Notary. Immediately organize our men! With the support of the two lady Monks’ Divine Techniques, we will purge the remaining Resentful Spirits and Demons and clear a path for that man!”

”As you command!”

Notary’s spirits soared. His Lord’s decisiveness and the power of their reinforcements gave him hope of escaping their predicament.

He immediately shouted his commands.

”Shields to the front! Spearmen, center! Protect the two lady Monks, do not let them be interrupted!”

”No reckless advances, proceed steadily! Watch each other’s backs!”

At that moment, the sound of hurried, orderly footsteps approached from the rear.

Knight Locke, who had been sent for aid, had arrived just in time, leading most of the elite Warriors who had been guarding the manor, with Mage Consultant Lady Michelle at their head!

The Mage’s face was pale; clearly, maintaining the [Negative Energy Resistance Barrier] over the entire troop had taken a heavy toll on her.

”Lord Paris! Locke is here with reinforcements!”

Knight Locke roared, leading the fresh troops as they charged unhesitatingly into the horde of Resentful Spirits.

”Perfect timing!”

A glint appeared in Paris’s eyes as his powerful voice boomed across the battlefield.

”All soldiers, hear my command! Our objective is to purge all surrounding enemies! Coordinate with the reinforcements and find the hidden Eternal Frost Cultist!”

”Our friends from the Sun Church have dispelled the cold, bringing us Power and hope! Victory is at hand!”

”For our Lord! For White Birch Fief! Victory!”

”Justice will prevail!”

A wave of furious roars instantly drowned out the shrieks of the Resentful Spirits.

Blessed by Xina’s [Sunfire Aegis], which dispelled the encroaching cold, and with their fighting spirit ignited by their Lord’s rousing words, the Warriors of White Birch Fief were filled with unstoppable momentum!

They were no longer an isolated force, trapped and awaiting rescue, but a steel tide fighting for glory and vengeance.

With Xia picking off targets with precise and furious [Sunfire Rays], Xina providing steady protection with her [Sunfire Aegis], and Big Mimi acting as a fearsome guardian, the remaining Sea of Resentful Spirits was swiftly carved up, suppressed, and purified. The few scattered Spirit-Devouring Owls were systematically eliminated by the combined efforts of Knights like Notary and Locke, unable to mount any effective threat.

Paris stood at the core of the formation, commanding with unshakeable composure while his hawk-like gaze swept across the ruined town, shrouded in wind and snow.

”Search every suspicious location! Houses, cellars, high ground! Any spot where the snow and wind gather unnaturally could be the target!”

His voice cut through the blizzard, reaching every Warrior’s ears with clarity.

”Yes, My Lord!”

Thanks to their extensive military training, the guards needed no further motivation. They instinctively followed their captains, fanning out in small squads into the town’s streets to begin the search.

Meanwhile, Mage Consultant Michelle, standing behind Paris, was freed from the pressure of maintaining the Negative Energy Resistance Barrier. She could now act freely, casting her own Perception Magic in an attempt to locate any potential Energy nodes.

In an instant, the counterattack was underway!

And it was all because of Jon’s arrival.
