Ascension from Dual Professions

Chapter 133: Chapter 132: Transformation Successful! Bloodline Sorcerer Rosalind

The moment the potion entered her mouth, Rosalind’s body suddenly stiffened.

She staggered back a step. The color drained from her beautiful face, leaving it a ghastly, almost translucent white. Beads of sweat had barely formed on her pores before they instantly froze into tiny frost flowers, clinging to her smooth skin.

Intense pain from within her body made her instinctively clutch her chest and curl up, an irrepressible groan escaping her throat.

Seeing this, Reya immediately moved to support her, but Jon stopped her.

”This is her trial to bear. It’s best she faces it alone...”

But even as he said this, his gaze toward Rosalind held a hint of worry.

The bloodline awakening potion he had concocted was of the highest quality, made with the best materials available at this stage. In theory, the chance of failure was low. However, chaotic variables lay everywhere between certainty and uncertainty; even the best bloodline awakening potion could fail.

He could only hope that sliver of misfortune wouldn’t befall his follower.

Reya also knew this was an incredibly important moment for Rosalind, but seeing her in such agony, she couldn’t help but call out softly...

”Sister Rosalind...”

”Don’t... don’t come over...”

Rosalind leaned against the wall, struggling to raise her head, her voice trembling with pain.

But deep within her silver eyes, an almost fanatical will was burning.

”I... can... can hold on...”

Every breath she took exhaled a thick, white mist, yet she still looked resolutely at Reya, then turned to the frowning Jon beside them, and said word by word,

”For... you... Reya... for... Mr. Jon... I must... succeed...”

These words were both an oath and a declaration of her resolve.

Rosalind stopped trying to suppress the tide of cold rising from the depths of her body. Instead, she forced her slender frame upright, like a crystal orchid stubbornly blooming in a blizzard.

She closed her eyes, and tiny frost flowers quickly formed on her long, silver eyelashes.

Then, a startling change occurred. The thin layer of frosty sweat covering her skin rapidly deepened and spread, as if drawn by an invisible brush.

Clear frost patterns crawled like living things over Rosalind’s heaving chest, branching out into fine tendrils, sketching intricate and cold markings. They eventually covered all of her skin, forming strange patterns that resembled scales!

At the same time, her body temperature plummeted. The air she exhaled from her mouth and nose was no longer a cold mist, but tiny ice crystals.

Her exposed skin took on a translucent, jade-like quality. Even her lustrous silver hair lost its shine, as if instantly frozen, its ends hung with glistening frost particles.

In the span of just a few breaths, she had transformed into a statue carved from ice and snow, completely frozen from the inside out!

Other than a faint, almost imperceptible life rhythm caused by the extreme cold, there was no trace of a living being left. The once-warm room was suddenly plunged into a cold as bitter as a world of ice and snow.

Reya covered her mouth, tears streaming silently down her face. As she looked at Rosalind’s motionless, ice-sculpture-like figure, immense heartache nearly suffocated her.

She could only look helplessly at Jon, seeking an answer.

However, the deep frown on Jon’s brow smoothed out, a flicker of relief flashing through his ice-blue eyes.

”Don’t worry, she succeeded!”

”Really!?”

”Yes.”

He murmured in a low voice, filled with joy and certainty.

”Look at these spontaneously formed frost patterns. This is a clear sign that the bloodline’s power has been successfully awakened and is beginning to transform her body!”

”If the awakening had failed, she would either be injured by chaotic bloodline power, or the energy would dissipate and fall dormant. It would never result in this ’frozen’ state, where the power is contained and stably constructing itself!”

”When she breaks out of the ice, she’ll be a true Professional!”

Reya was still crying, but this time, not from worry, but from joy.

As someone who grew up with her like family, she knew what a painful past Rosalind carried, and she knew the sorrow Rosalind had always held in her heart because of it.

Now, her sister was finally on the path to mastering her own power. How could she not be overjoyed for her?

Only a few minutes passed from the moment Rosalind was encased in ice to when the layers of ice began to peel away, but to Jon and Reya, it felt like an eternity.

When Rosalind—her skin now fairer and more translucent, her entire aura as otherworldly as the Ice and Snow Fairies, daughters of the legendary Ice and Snow Goddess Samantha—opened her eyes, the frigid air that had swept the room suddenly coiled back, pouring into her body like a swirling cloud.

The scale-like patterns that had spread across her skin glowed faintly before disappearing.

The next moment, however, this unearthly aura was shattered.

Rosalind stared blankly at her hands, a little dazed.

”I... I succeeded...?”

”Sister Rosalind—!”

Before she could even get used to her transformation, Reya cried out and, just like when the two sisters had reunited in the cognitive domain, threw herself into her arms.

”This is great! This is great!”

”Congratulations! You’re a Professional now, too!”

The girl paid no mind to the frost flowers clinging to Rosalind’s clothes, continuously nuzzling her head against her chest.

Rosalind stiffened for a moment, then wrapped her arms around Reya, patting her gently. A smile that could truly be called ”warm” appeared on her stunningly beautiful face.

”Mhm...”

Then, she looked at Jon, a hint of nervousness and expectation in her clear silver eyes.

”Master...”

She was clearly still seeking his approval.

Jon just chuckled and nodded, giving her the affirmation she sought.

”Yes, you succeeded. And it was absolutely perfect.”

’How could it not be perfect?’

Rosalind’s changes were already reflected on his follower panel!
