Our Family Has Fallen

Chapter 1062: Chapter 590: Bay 12_2

Instinctively, he extended the torch, only to see ripples suddenly spreading across the water surface.

In the water!

Lance suddenly realized and had no time to think before leaping out of the way.

The next second, something fell into the water, and Lance only saw half a chain shooting out of the water once he was steady. If he had been a bit slower, he would have been caught.

Before Lance could react further, a sudden urgent bell sound erupted from the ship, as if it were a signal, causing the whole ship to seemingly come alive instantly.

Instinctively, Lance raised the torch high and shone it over. Beneath the clanking sound of iron chains colliding, a grotesquely shaped undead climbed out of the water through a breach from the sunken ship.

The attire on its body was already in ruins, but its body was so gaunt and bluish-black, looking like just a layer of skin over a skeleton. Its lower half was submerged in water, probably standing on the sunken ship.

The bald head was unclear whether it had lost all its hair or was bald in life, but most peculiarly, this creature carried a ship’s anchor on its shoulder, with the chain behind clanging as it moved.

Urged on by the ringing bell, the Drowned Anchor Bearer immediately threw the anchor at Lance again. It’s unimaginable how its frail frame could hurl an anchor half the size of its body.

Anchor throw!

But Lance had no time to worry, quickly dodging, then charging forward, drawing the Wolf Fang to slash the Anchor Bearer.

A strange sensation, not at all like cutting into a corpse, more like hacking into a bone.

Lance didn’t care, raising his hand intending to sacrifice the Anchor Bearer.

But then an unexpected situation occurred; the judgment actually failed.

Meanwhile, the ship’s anchor that had been thrown was somehow dragged back into the cabin by something.

Soon, another Drowned Anchor Bearer crawled out from the breach, identical to the previous one.

Seeing this, Lance immediately understood something.

They had already fused with this ship, their souls bound by a curse within, yet wouldn’t die easily.

With that, Lance abandoned the Anchor Bearer directly, rushing into the cabin willingly.

The pitch-black environment seemed to swallow even the torchlight partially upon entering, the dense evil aura sensing the intruder.

Eerie light appeared on the surrounding hull, distorted faces of ghosts repeatedly drowning, reaching out to seize Lance, intending to kill the intruder.

Or drag him into the eternal damnation of drowning.

Lance let the spiritual bodies claw at him, too indifferent to bother with these puppets, neither feeling fear nor encountering any incident.

Slashing his way inside up to the deck, perhaps no one except Lance could manage such a feat, his ferocious demeanor leaving one to wonder who truly was the bane?

Upon stepping onto the deck, he instantly scanned for the source of the sound, quickly catching sight of it at the most prominent position.

There was an undead cloaked in a tattered coat, wearing a sailor’s cap.

The exposed skin was a bluish-gray, shriveled like a mummy, yet resembling a stone statue.

Its visage was even more terrifying; eyes long lost, the gaping mouth revealing emptiness inside, eerie light emanating, filled with evil aura.

The skeletal face, adorned with grey-white whiskers, held a bell in its hand.

Lance’s approach was exceedingly rapid, so swift that even the undead hadn’t responded.

A quick glance revealed numerous twisted undead on the deck, mostly with their attire decayed beyond recognition, making their former appearances indiscernible.

Varieties of forms due to different reasons, some emaciated, while others bloated like giant beetles, resembling the previously thrown Drowned Zombies, their appearance quite ominous.

The rest of the Drowned Sailors wielded different items in hand.

Some held bottles covered in barnacles, others with rusty harpoon guns, some with violins...

Uh, yes, violins.

The peculiar figure sat cross-legged on a broken wooden barrel, its clothes already in tatters, but wearing a commonly seen sailor cap on its head.

What was even more unusual was that this guy actually held a violin!

Lance didn’t care why it could still be used, because that’s just supernatural power.

Undoubtedly, it was the Drowned Violinist who was contending with him earlier.

The sound wave from their battle earlier had interrupted the Violinist’s action, even dimming the ghostly light churned from its hollow eyes by several degrees.

These Drowned Sailors had barnacles of varying sizes growing all over their surface, unclear how long they’d been soaking in the water.

The undead on the deck were even more sluggish than he had imagined, as it wasn’t until now the captainly figure started shaking the bell in its hand.

Emergency Assembly!

”Ring-a-ding-ding!”

No matter how long dead, as long as the captain issued orders, the crew would comply...

The urgent bell sound finally woke the crew; sailors staggered on their stiff bodies, clumsily moving their swollen forms, and the Violinist had already pulled the strings.

Heart-Capturing Ship’s Tune!

In a daze, Lance seemed to hear the sailors’ singing, coarse yet powerful, the crude songs holding dreams of women and treasures, crafting an intoxicating dream, sketching out long-lost revelry memories.

But such trifling tricks couldn’t even deceive a Siren, and you expect this ragtag to work?

Lance was too lazy to utter nonsense, lifting his hand to directly shoot the Violinist in the head, abruptly halting the cheerful tune.

But the undead didn’t babble; a sailor raised a long-handled hook towards Lance, the hook on it was nothing trivial.

This tool was meant to hook big fish caught up to the ship, very sharp indeed.

Get the hook onboard!

On the other side, a crew member lifted a water-filled wine bottle, mimicking a posture of necking it back, and yet a bizarre curse descended.

Drowning with Intoxication!

At that instant, Lance seemed to feel the pain of drowning under drunkenness, but that state was quickly dispelled by Lance, his will iron-clad and unshakeable!

Grabbing the knife, he charged in, with his abilities having improved further compared to facing the Siren before.

This area, teeming with eerie undead and grim for others, was merely a bit troublesome for him.

Those stiff Drowned Sailors couldn’t stop him at all; in the blink of an eye, they were cleaved into pieces rolling on the deck, as he reached the captain before him, drawing the long knife decisively without hesitation.

Mutiny!

The captain shook the bell in his hand frantically, its bizarre power ever attempting to affect Lance, yet it was all just a joke.

”Jingle!”

The bell abruptly stopped with a final clang, a sound resonating from dropping onto the deck.

As for the captain, it couldn’t even muster more tactics before being slain.

Too decisive, that killing pose was nothing short of art.

Amanda touted herself as a nemesis for Spellcasters, but the real scourge for them should be Lance. Once their sorcery loses effect, they become lambs to the slaughter.

However, Lance didn’t ease up after the battle. Instead, his stance wielding the knife seemed even more alert.

The undead were merely puppets, the true foe hadn’t appeared yet...

Lance scrutinized everything around, not causing much damage on site with his easy annihilation, as it was already in this state before clashing.

How could a sunken ship remain so remarkably intact?

Yet before Lance could delve into it, the next bizarre scene unfolded!

Under an indescribable power, Lance astonishingly witnessed those Drowned Sailors he had just slain revived one by one.

What was even more peculiar was their apparent immersion in that bygone scene.

The ship seemed to have just achieved a victory; the Violinist was playing, sailors drinking and dancing, singing loudly, scattered barrels and bottles on deck displayed the revelry of that time.

But soon, they seemed to encounter something, demonstrating a desperate drowning in front of Lance...
