Chapter 1589: Competition for Assistant(4)

”Do you know about the conditions for a world to get upgraded?”

The young girl repeated the question after not getting an answer from Linling the first time. She had seen her right from her birth. Not only her but every being that lived in the world.

She was the consciousness of the world, and her young features werenʼt an illusion. Any planet with the capability of birthing life had a lifespan of hundreds of billions of years, especially a planet that gave birth to warriors. Even though it might only be a ninth-ranked warrior, it was still above the ordinary level.

Linling had lived a long life, so she finally calmed down. Even though her heart was still chilly, she could speak coherently now.

”Give birth to an eighth-ranked warrior?”

Linling wasnʼt confident since the knowledge of upgrading was only known to those upper-tier planets with several peak ninth-ranked warriors.

”No. A ninth-grade world can never give birth to an eighth-ranked warrior.” The girl immediately responded.

Linling couldnʼt help but raise her eyes in confusion as she no longer had any idea about the question.

”For a world to get upgraded, it either needs to conquer three worlds of the same power level or it must defend against the full-fledged invasion of an equally powerful world.”

Linling couldnʼt help but exclaim in surprise since she finally understood why they found out about the invasion centuries before the enemyʼs arrival.

The first enemy made slight sense since there wasnʼt a very big power gap between the two, but the same couldnʼt be implied for the second enemy.

Linling was the only peak ninth-ranked warrior in her world, while the enemies approaching her had seventeen of them. Even if Linling was extremely talented, the most she could face off against were three warriors of the same level, while the others would loot her world.

As for how she got that information, it was with the help of the psychic who sacrificed her life to calculate the enemyʼs arrival and their power.

”Does that mean that the will of the universe wants us to keep fighting?”

The young girl only smiled in response to that. She didnʼt want to tell the cruel things to her.

For the universeʼs will, the inhabitants of the world were just like ants. What mattered to her was the world, which was her daughters. Since there were hundreds of millions of worlds, the universe couldnʼt give an equal amount of resources to each one.

So there was the upgrading situation where the lower the rank, the more resources the universes would put into that planet. Due to that reason, a world couldnʼt give birth to a higher-ranked warrior than its grade, irrespective of anything.

Even though only a short time had passed for the audience, centuries had passed for the contestants that were still in the competition.

The wait for the second invasion ended, and the enemy reached the worldʼs border.

After several years, Linlingʼs world had changed completely. Earlier, she was the only peak ninth-ranked warrior, but that was no longer the case. The number of that kind of warrior had now grown to double digits.

Even though tt was still shorter than the number of warriors in the enemy camp, Linling had an ace in her arsenal.

The meeting with the worldʼs consciousness years ago had nothing to do with the liquid, but she was summoned due to her being on the verge of death due to the liquid.

The liquid was the diluted blood of an early seventh-ranked warrior, which could only be found in the seventh-grade world or higher.

With the help of the diluted blood, every governor reached the peak level, and two cabinet ministers also succeeded in achieving that level, making the number of peak ninth-ranked warriors 14.

Two more warriors could be born, but Linling decided to use the last two drops in her weapon. It helped the weapon evolve and reach the best category.

In the cluster of ninth-grade worlds, there were only two or three worlds with weapons of that level, and her current enemies werenʼt any of those worlds.

Linling would breathe sighs of relief every time she would see the weapon. It wasnʼt due to the weapon, but the first enemies caused her to feel such.

If they werenʼt incompetent and unable to distinguish the value of the liquid, she and others in her world would be no more.

”Accept defeat, and we shall spare you!”

A majestic voice rang in everyoneʼs ears as the enemies reached the worldʼs atmosphere. They were humanoid creatures, and a bubble-like substance was covering them, allowing them to fly.

Linlingʼs world also had flying devices, so they also rose to match the enemy. There were plates-like devices below the feet of everyone.

Linling was the strongest and had the evolved weapon, so she took the lead.

The enemy leader was shorter in size than her but way bulkier. A look of disgust appeared in the manʼs eyes as his race deeply hated women.

Like Linlingʼs world only had women, the enemy world only had men.

The two sides didnʼt waste words in mindless conversations and immediately started their battles, with Linling taking the lead with the spear in her hands.

Linling and the enemy leader knew why they were fighting, so the two were particularly bloodthirsty and decisive. A ninth-level warrior had a maximum lifespan of 1000 years, but that number grew to 10,000 years for an eighth-level warrior. The strength difference between the two sides was also unattainable, and since only an eighth-grade world or higher could give birth to an eighth-ranked warrior, they knew the value of victory.

The battle continued for days as warriors from both sides fell one after another, but every time, there would be new blood to replace, making the battle gloomy as time passed.

The enemy leader couldnʼt contend alone with Linling due to her weapon, so he joined sides with two other warriors of the same level.

Unfortunately for the enemy, the spear had enhanced Linlingʼs fighting potential to another level altogether, so even three enemies couldnʼt suppress her. Seeing that the battle was slipping out of his control, the leader had no choice but to call two more warriors to his help.
