Beneath the Red Dragon

Moreover, the giant dragon occupying the Short Mountain cave is rumored to be a Red Dragon, the most ferocious and domineering of the colorful dragon species.

Perhaps by now those beautiful maidens have already become nothing but excrement within the belly of the Evil Dragon, leaving only a pile of pale bones.

Holy Knight Elise sighed heavily, then waved his hand helplessly, and said, ”Then let those demon summoners be ready to drive out this Evil Dragon and deal with it.”

The demon summoners, this newly emerging peculiar profession on the Northern Continent, is said to have originated from the Golden Empire in the lands of the Northern Wilderness.

The wisdom of living beings always possesses immeasurable potential. Even without the core knowledge of the Golden Empire, some of the knowledge that circulated from the Golden Empire allowed some casters with unique ideas to create this system of demon summoners.

The Legion Warriors of the Golden Empire can use their bodies to bear the tamed ancient demons and Demon’s Blood, which these demon summoners cannot do, nor do they have the corresponding knowledge.

But they adopted this line of thought, summoning demons from the regions and abyss, then signing contracts with these demons and devils. They temporarily bore the power of these demons and devils themselves, or used the power of these demons and devils to drive their demonic servants.

It is said that the ultimate end these demon summoners can reach is, like the mighty warriors of the Golden Empire, to become infected with the bloodline of these ancient and powerful beings after long-term bearing of demon and devil power, possessing the legacy of ancient blood.

The Paladins in the team watched these demon summoners coldly as they set up the ritual, preparing to summon the power they controlled.

Although Paladins are viewed as lunatics using morality as a standard by most noble lords, they are not truly mad, and the spell to detect evil is a forbidden technique for them to wield lightly.

Blindly executing justice and goodness is not a notion Paladins hold onto as they gradually come to realize.

After all, the public speeches of the Southern Silver Dragon Valkyrie, Silver Dragon Chris Tianna, upon her return to the Silver Dragon group and her resumption of control over the Silver Dragon Holy Knight Order, have already caused a major stir in recent days.

Originally, the speech of a Silver Dragon did not carry such enormous influence.

However, as the circumstances surrounding the legendary Mature Golden Dragon Nasuye and the legendary Storm Titan Dalia being defeated spread, the actions of Silver Dragon Chris Tianna have drawn much attention.

Within the Paladins, the speeches of the Silver Dragon Valkyrie Chris Tianna sparked internal discussion and exploration. Many Paladins believe that Silver Dragon Chris Tianna has been corrupted by the Gogomola Dragon Group from the Northern Golden Empire, no longer worthy of standing with goodness and justice.

Yet, some Paladins argue that justice and goodness are not absolute but relative, though this perspective remains a minority among the Paladins.

Fortunately, the divine power used by the Paladins does not come from any single Divine Spirit, nor is the holy power bestowed by any one entity.

Just as divine power does not solely come from gods, a devout belief in certain ideologies of the cosmos allows some followers to draw magic power and holy power from this faith.

Like many wandering priests who dedicate themselves to an ideology rather than a specific deity, they can gain magical abilities, much like the Druids’ connection with Natural Force and Wild Power.

Therefore, these minority Paladins also have not lost their power, as they purely serve the wish power of justice or the spirit of chivalry.

”The black wings have already etched his mark upon my body, allowing me to nourish his beloved and to bear his power.”

”From then on, his power has ever accompanied me, growing stronger daily, and I rise ever higher, until I reach the peak...”

As the incantation and the mercury mist rose simultaneously, the summoning array diagram before the demon summoners began to shimmer with the light of runes, as though a gate was slowly opening, and the mercury mist began to take form.

An ominous goat-headed demon began to emerge from the mercury mist, ready to step into the Prime Material Plane to bestow demonic power upon its contractor.

However, the goat-headed demon’s nostrils suddenly twitched, and its red pupils scanned the surroundings, finally locking onto the cave on the Short Mountain.

Splat,

The summoning array, flowing with mercury, silver, and magic powder, instantly dimmed, and everyone could witness the goat-headed demon’s silhouette receding into the distance.

Also, the sheep-demon’s enraged voice, gibbering excitedly, resounded around everyone’s ears.

”Are you out of your mind? I entered a contract with you for profit, not to risk my life. Although neither demons nor devils fear death on the Material Plane, falling into the hands of those evil creations in the Golden Empire means even death is impossible!”

”Next time you summon me, remember to stay clear of the Northern Wilderness, you damned fool.”

The demon summoner shouted blankly, ”This is Modir, thousands of miles away from the Northern Wilderness. Even the Hobis Empire is far from here.”

”Bullshit, utter nonsense. The material plane coordinates of this region have already been used by those bastards. I can even smell the scent of the dragon; if you aren’t trying to get us killed, then erase this summoning array quickly.”
