Beneath the Red Dragon

The seemingly young elf, upon closer inspection, revealed that her hair, once vibrant and filled with life like a forest, had turned somewhat gray. Her youthful face was etched with fine wrinkles around her eyes.

Elves are naturally long-lived creatures; every ordinary elf can live for hundreds to thousands of years. Those born in the Elf Tribe, which possesses the Tree of Life, have an even longer lifespan.

This tribe not only has a Tree of Life but also possesses a Tree of Life markedly different from ordinary ones, providing extraordinary life-enhancing benefits to these elves.

With the prolonged consumption of the Essence of Life Water, the Elf Grand Elder can exist through eras unimaginable to short-lived species.

Nonetheless, this elf has already shown signs of aging, making it impossible to guess how many years she has spent in this world.

She saw the young elven druid Aiya walk in, then stood up from the soft mat woven from fallen leaves of the Tree of Life, with concern in her voice, she asked, ”Aiya, you’re back! Have you discovered any good news?”

”Grand Elder,” said Aiya, the young elven druid, in a tone filled with respect for the elder elf. She placed her hand, which had been covering her rear, down and bowed to the elder elf.

”The creatures appearing in the Desolate God Ruins are very weak. Over this period, I’ve been observing their behaviors and movements, and I found they aren’t like the Desolate God’s Claws. They possess order and rationality and aren’t obsessed with slaughter and chaos,”

Aiya, the young elven druid, answered.

”Not like the Desolate God’s Claws? That’s good; this is indeed good news,” the elder elf smiled, letting out a long breath. The tightly furrowed wrinkles between her brows also smoothed out.

The Desolate God is a powerful entity that can stand alongside many divine spirits, also referred to as the Primordial One, or simply as the Primordial Gods.

No one knows precisely how many Desolate Gods exist in the world, including those divine beings who reside in the Divine Kingdom above the Star Realm.

Yet in many tales spread throughout the Endless Star Realm, hundreds of Desolate Gods were naturally born out of earth and heaven at the beginning of the cosmos.

In ancient times, the Desolate Gods once waged a grand war with the numerous divine spirits dwelling above the Divine Kingdom. This war transcended not just realms but also the Crystal Wall System.

Though the war finally resulted in the victory of many faith-based divine spirits, it’s told that the King of All Gods, Primordial Dragon God Ayo, was chopped into two by the formidable Desolate God, the King of Fear, Eric Hass, using the terrifying Godslaying Giant Axe.

In some tales, the Platinum Dragon God Bahamut and the God of Evil Dragons Tiamat were born from the divided corpse of the Primordial Dragon God Ayo, representing the first generation of dragon gods and marking the apex of the dragon bloodline’s revival, the blood of the First Generation Dragon.

The leader among the Desolate Gods, the King of Fear Eric Hass, was slain by the North Wind Dragon King Bahamut and Five-Colored Dragon Queen Tiamat, born from the Primordial Dragon God.

Yet, these Desolate Gods are enemies that only numerous divine spirits can confront, so even unnamed claws of the Desolate God are calamities this frail plane finds difficult to withstand.

No wonder the aged elf, with her countless years of wisdom, could not restrain happiness upon hearing such good news.

”As long as they’re not the Desolate God’s Claws, then we can be at ease, considering that currently, not a single tribe has birthed an elf capable of gaining approval from the sacred artifact. If the Desolate God’s Claws breach the world’s barrier again, we would find it challenging to resist those chaotic and bloodthirsty monsters!”

”It seems they might be unexpected outsiders to this world. Hmm, let’s not make contact with them for now; continue observing their movements to see what they truly intend to do!”

The aged elf elder sat back down, her demeanor reverting to a calm and serene state, with her dark green eyes dimming.

”If they aim to step into that forbidden land, then let them act freely. It may as well weaken the scale of those undead monsters.”

Several hundred years ago, this realm named the Greenfield Forest Plane by mages was discovered by wandering claws of the Desolate God.

Back then, elves were scattered into small tribes, and even a dozen elves could form a tribe, living freely and dispersed.

Under the leadership of commanded monsters, the claws of the Desolate God tore open the realm’s barrier, attempting to transform the entire Greenfield Forest Plane into the nest of the Desolate God, converting all creatures into the Desolate God’s Claws.

Fortunately, a remarkably talented elf emerged at the time, obtaining recognition from the Endless Forest’s will and blessings from all Trees of Life, and gained approval from the sacred artifact passed down in the Elf Tribe.

Led by this elf, all elves united with courage to resist the invading claws of the Desolate God, sacrificing countless lives.

Finally, in the last battle, the elf sacrificed their own life to use the ancestral Holy Spear to pin down the leader of the Desolate God’s Claws on the battlefield.

The blood drawn from the pinned Desolate God leader transformed the once lush forest into a desert, and even after hundreds of years of recovery and nurturing, it still could not return to its original state.

The Holy Spear, which slew the Desolate God’s leader, still pins the monster’s corpse deep in that barren wasteland, with no one able to pull it out.
