Beneath the Red Dragon

He searched for his target, but the average sea fish in front of his massive body were merely snacks, unable to make up for the energy expended in hunting.

Karon was somewhat curious to taste the Shahua Fishmen beloved by Bronze Dragon and Blue Dragon. During the last invasion of the Shahua Fishmen, he was so focused on slaughter that he didn’t have a chance to try the taste of these creatures.

As for whether these creatures fall into the category of intelligent beings, Karon directly switched on the Bronze Dragon’s double-standard mode, since they weren’t humanoid, he had no psychological reaction to eating them.

However, Karon wasn’t lucky today. After their tribe was scattered, those Shahua Fishmen were already wary of the Dragon Group Territory.

Plus, the Dragon Group Territory had issued a bounty specifically for hunting Shahua Fishmen, so within dozens of miles of the territorial waters, there wasn’t a trace of a Shahua Fishman to be found.

Karon had no choice but to reluctantly catch a seven-meter-long sailfish. This sailfish was quite fierce; upon failing to escape, it boldly charged at the Red Dragon with its upper jaw, which extended forward like a long spear. It ended up knocked unconscious by a slap from Karon.

While Karon was indulging in his meal, he naturally sensed a prying gaze from the sea, watching him.

He remained silent, continuing to enjoy his dinner while quietly focusing his senses to investigate the source of the prying gaze.

But the other party was evidently very vigilant. When Karon’s senses located the trace, he only saw a long blue tail disappearing into the sea.

The mysterious creature’s tail was somewhat similar to a giant dragon’s tail, yet the tip of the tail grew a pair of fin-like wings similar to those of a fish.

”Could this creature be the Sea-dwelling Dragon that Doss and Akzhi once mentioned?” Karon didn’t see its full form, so he couldn’t be sure. The world is vast, and many magical animals might not even be recorded in the dragon lineage.

”It seems the other party has been secretly observing the Dragon Group’s territory, but it doesn’t seem malicious,” Karon shook his head, deciding not to worry about it for now. However, he did plan to have Blue Dragon Doss and Akzhi pay more attention to the sea area.

The Red Dragon swallowed his prey and then resurfaced, flying back to his Dragon Nest.

In the month that followed, Karon mostly dedicated his time to studying magic and supervising the territory.

Many matters in the Dragon Group Territory had now stabilized. Although many were just roughly structured, fortunately, they only needed to be supplemented and expanded upon the foundation.

The ironworks once owned by Dwarf Clagon had gradually expanded and was now moved outside the city, where a specialized foundry was established.

Dwarf Clagon’s letters had not yet received replies, but the dwarf had recruited three other dwarf blacksmiths from the adventurers. Under the teaching of dwarf blacksmiths, the apprentices gradually grew, gaining more experience in forging and smelting, thus greatly increasing efficiency for a while.

Even a dedicated institution for raising and taming beasts had been established, named the Beast Park. It focused on artificially breeding and optimizing meat-producing species and cultivating various domestic fowls and labor beasts for the territory.

Many quickly breeding wild horses, wild cattle, and wild sheep from the grasslands, which could be used both for meat and as working farm animals, were captured and tamed. This was Black Dragon Rosani’s favorite place to visit.

During this period, Karon’s private laboratory was also completed with the generous contributions of mages. It was a rather simple lab, located in the canyon surrounded by the Mountain Dragon Nest, which used to be the location of the juvenile dragons’ nest.

However, Karon cared not for the stone-built lab itself but for the exceptionally valuable magic instruments and equipment and the knowledge to use them.

If Karon were to procure these things himself, even at several times the cost, they likely wouldn’t be as perfect as those brought by the mages.

Therefore, Karon had to take some time to consult with Mage Hughes about this knowledge, which he must master for future research.

In these busy days, Karon almost forgot about the human man on the Beastman ships that had piqued his curiosity.

Fortunately, he had previously instructed the Imperial Guard guarding the Dragon Nest to notify the Governor of the Golden City, Fafnir, to buy all the slaves coming from the Beastman Kingdom.

However, he had no time to delve into the mystery surrounding this man, as Jackal Wolfman Yougu had sent a message via flying bird, reporting that the fully equipped and exploration-ready expedition team was already assembled, just awaiting Karon’s command.

So Karon informed the Dragon Group that after leaving his territory, all affairs should continue to operate normally, temporarily co-governed by White Dragon Gomot and Blue Dragon Doss.

The Red Dragon then flapped his wings and came to the cliff in front of the Plane Magic Teleportation Gate.

At this moment, teams of heavily armed Heavy Armored Warriors had long stood in formation under the leadership of Jackal Wolfman Yougu. In Yougu’s training, the Jackal Wolfman Barbarian Soldiers had acquired the same level of discipline as ordinary human soldiers.

Each of these towering Jackal Wolfman Barbarian Soldiers wore full-body iron armor, appearing even taller by a whole size. The Jackal Wolfman Leader Yougu was also clad in heavy armor, exposing only his head with a dense mane of blood-red hair.
