I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

Of course, generally speaking, this kind of private school wouldn’t be open to the common populace but serves as a place for the offspring of the city’s nobles, knights, and high-ranking officials and wealthy merchants to study.

But with Gauss’s connections in the city, sending Abby there naturally wasn’t difficult.

Abby naturally knew she was admitted because of her teacher Gauss’s assistance.

Watching Abby wave to him and then her figure disappearing at the end of the corridor, Gauss smiled slightly.

He thought of Line and his little sister Cicero at home.

During the few days he returned home, he also left a few Warrior Skill Books and provided some basic guidance.

However, because Cicero’s body hadn’t matured yet, they could currently only lay the foundation, so there hadn’t been extensive teaching for the time being.

But it’s imaginable that she certainly has more potential than ordinary people.

Because Gauss occasionally sent money or procured foundational nurturing potions back home.

Perhaps, after a few years when the three little ones each grow up, they could also form an adventure group.

The little sister Cicero is a Warrior, Line and Abby are Mages.

Gauss shook his head, temporarily putting aside this thought, and he wouldn’t intentionally intervene in these young children’s future plans.

If they choose to team up in the future, that would naturally be best; by then, he might have also achieved fame and success with his own adventure group, and they could rely on his help for adventures, as it’s always good to have support from a strong foundation.

But if they have aspirations to each embark on their own adventure journeys, he wouldn’t interfere either.

Leaving the school gates.

A Tiefling youth cloaked in a robe was waiting by the street, and upon seeing him emerge from the school, swiftly approached.

”Lord Gauss.”

”This is an item Lord Pleos asked me to deliver to you.”

”Thank you.”

Gauss accepted the Storage Pouch.

He wasn’t unfamiliar with the Tiefling Ranger before him, knowing he was a close aide running errands for Pleos.

In recent years, Pleos had also been discreetly selecting some promising Tiefling talents within the city, secretively providing resources to cultivate them into Professionals.

Because of the racial affinity, these individuals often followed his orders and those of the governor Nock without question.

This was also a point of contention for the Hayes family towards Pleos and governor Nock.

Despite the hardships faced by Tieflings at the lower echelons, this race could often produce a few outstandingly talented individuals, who, with some nurturing, could become decent combat power.

But the issue was Pleos’s overwhelming prestige among the Tiefling forces in Flute Castle, making it challenging for others to garner this overlooked power.

”Wait, don’t leave yet, I haven’t given you the agreed payment.”

Seeing the Tiefling Ranger about to slip away, Gauss quickly spoke to stop him.

”It’s not necessary. Lord Pleos said you have already completed the task, this is part of the task’s reward.”

”I’ve completed the task?”

”Didn’t Lord Pleos ask you to investigate the disappearance of Tiefling orphans a while back? Recently, with the crackdown on the Dragon Worship Sect, the culprits behind it were caught, which is also thanks to your efforts.”

The Tiefling Ranger promptly explained, fearing taking the payment from Gauss’s hand and being blamed by Pleos upon returning.

Pleos had repeatedly emphasized sending this Storage Pouch to Gauss and strictly forbid taking any commission from him.

Having been nurtured by Pleos since young, the Tiefling Ranger naturally didn’t dare defy Pleos’s orders.

Seeing the young man’s anxious expression, Gauss didn’t press further.

He merely stood still, contemplating issues concerning Farlim’s Adventurer’s Guild in the province capital.

Neither he nor the original soul had ever been to Farlim, nor had any of the recent generations.

This was also why he was apprehensive when Pleos credited the accomplishment to him initially.

But after a few days of reflection, perhaps there indeed existed some mysterious connection between Farlim and him.

Looks like after resolving the snow mountain task, he’ll need to head to Farlim to investigate further.

Gauss looked to the north, as the journey progressed, the location of the snow mountain related to the Lake God’s task wasn’t too far.

However, before officially setting off, he still needed to stay in Flute Castle for a while.

Both he and Aaliyah were at extremely crucial stages.

This time, he had asked Pleos to purchase in bulk various nurturing potions, magical potions, and various Mid-Level Magic Stones due to the breakthrough matters.

The momentum of his Profession Tier manifesting magic cup had already reached a zenith.

The originally solid cup wall cracked with cobweb-like fissures, yet he didn’t feel discomfort; on the contrary, he felt as though he was about to be reborn.

He had inquired with Albena and Ying, and this appeared to be an essential path from being an elite to reaching Master Level, akin to a transformative process of breaking down and rebuilding.

After completing the transformation, the core of the Profession Tier would undergo drastic enhancement.

The intensity and total amount of magic power would also be elevated, which is why the same spells, when cast by a Master Level Mage, are often stronger than those cast by an elite mage.

The upcoming period was highly significant for him.

Being a Master Level Professional was considered the initial step onto the world stage, allowing participation in relatively significant town-level crises and events.

Although he already possessed Master Level combat power today, without the breakthrough, he still remained at the elite Professional rank.

He infused magic power into the Storage Pouch.

The supplies Pleos sent were more than he had requested yesterday, and of better quality.
