I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

”Entanglement Technique!”

Countless thick vines emerged from the ground and forest, twisting and crawling toward the cultists of the Dragon Worship Sect.

She knew that perhaps what these cultists said was true, that if she didn’t resist, they might indeed spare her life. But afterwards? They would only use her as leverage to force Gauss into submission.

In that case, a desperate battle now would be better, at least she could die with dignity.

Her peripheral vision caught sight of those monster-like waves further away, and more cultists poised to strike behind them, filling her heart with helplessness.

There was no way she could handle so many enemies at once.

Perhaps today marks the last day of her life.

Such a pity...

Pity for the Dragon Beast Hephaestus that followed her, or it wouldn’t have faced such hardship.

She took a deep breath.

The Natural Power within her was unleashed without reservation!

The Natural Power poured into the earth, merging with the plant’s roots, trunks, leaves.

The surrounding forest seemed to boil, making a continuous rustling sound.

Countless vines, as thick as forest pythons, rushed toward the enemies from all sides.

Some enemies caught off guard were snatched by the vines at the ankle, and in their struggle, their bodies were ensnared by more advancing vines.

”Cr-cr-crack—”

The vines relentlessly increased their killing force.

In the end, the person exploded like a towel wrung dry of water, blood splattering everywhere.

”Clang!”

A nimble figure appeared behind Aaliyah.

Stabbing toward her back.

Yet the responsive Aaliyah activated the rubber stick technique, blocking the dagger with her Magic Staff.

”Boom!”

She struck the enemy away, quickly following up with a head-on blow.

Soon the enemy hit in the head collapsed to the ground, unable to rise again.

Though she seemed unremarkable in Gauss’s team, just an ordinary support, it was only in comparison to the powerhouse that is Gauss and Albena. In actuality, throughout this long journey, she had gone through a profound transformation.

She had always hid under the team’s protection, not needing to take on too much combat duty.

Now forced into extremity, she unleashed powers beyond her imagination.

”Scale Powder Butterfly!”

In the sky, an invisible butterfly scattered powder.

Soon after being dusted, the cultists become itch-ridden.

Whereas Ulfen, upon being dusted, became instantly invisible.

Transforming into a hunter to slaughter the surrounding cultists and monsters.

For a moment, the battle seemed to enter a phase of evenly matched contest.

”I’m not to be trifled with either!”

Aaliyah wielded her staff like the wind again, knocked a nearby monster unconscious, and took a few breaths.

Just as she was gazing at several other enemies watching her nearby with fierce eyes.

The air behind her suddenly rippled, then a slender black silhouette gradually appeared.

”!!!”

Her body hair stood on end.

When did it happen?

”Splurt!”

A short blade akin to a dragon tooth silently pierced into her abdomen.

Like a knife slicing through tofu, effortlessly.

”The farce is over, child.”

The black assassin withdrew the short blade.

Then turned his gaze toward the distant invisible silver wolf tearing at its comrades.

Although the silver wolf was invisible, its scent and movement traces wouldn’t disappear, a slightly experienced assassin could easily capture its trail.

He raised his boot, picked up a long spear from the ground.

After weighing it in his palm and confirming the weight, he slightly gathered strength.

The long spear pierced the air, pointing straight at the invisible large wolf.

”Pfff!!!”

The sound of metal stabbing into flesh rang.

A splash of blood bloomed in the air.

Ulfen collapsed to the ground, gradually revealing its form.

Its waist and abdomen were completely impaled by the long spear.

The piercing pain constantly attacked its brain, it lay on the ground with its head tilted, eyes looking toward the direction where its master lay.

Upon seeing Aaliyah already collapsed in the blood foam on the ground.

It let out a human-like mournful howl.

”Awooo—”

”Such a faithful dog, not knowing whether it can survive and yet still thinking of its master.”

Several cultists stepped on the gradually weakening Ulfen, mockingly commented.

”Alright.”

”Imprison them all, make sure they’re not dead, they’re still useful.”

He pointed to the special rune-engraved prison cart in the distance and instructed.

”Yes, sir.”

”Oh, by the way, there’s you too.”

The assassin suddenly looked to the sky, an invisible butterfly silently approached above his head, attempting to ambush him.

”Slash!”

The dragon tooth-shaped short blade flashed a red glow, then swiftly swung.

A streak of blue juice bloomed in the air.

The once invisible Scale Powder Butterfly was cleaved in two.

”Alright, now it’s quiet.”

Not far away, Hephaestus who just gritted through the drug-induced fog glimpsed at his fallen ”companions”.

A strong surge of anger erupted like a volcano in its chest.

It wanted to kill them all!

Overcoming the paralyzing force gradually spreading within its body, it propped itself up.

”Thud!”

Several goblins were instantly crushed into pulp under its feet.

The flame within, now restored, burst forth from its fully raised neck, spewing from the depths of its throat.

A rain of fire showered down, the unprepared monsters perished instantly in the blaze, reduced to charred skeletons.

”The Dragon Beast is angry.”

A brawny man spoke to the scholar beside him.

”Let it vent.”

”When its energy is depleted, that’s our time to act.”

They worshipped the Giant Dragon yet studied dragons. It could be said that no humans understood better how to deal with a Dragon Beast or Dragon Descendant than them.
