I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

Chapter 213: Chapter 185: Team Reunion and Setting Out Again

He was just getting started.

Serdur, who was originally blowing on his hot tea to cool it, couldn’t help but glance at Gauss when he heard this.

Less than a year, and you’ve already broken through from a bottom adventurer to level 2?

This speed, even he couldn’t help but be amazed.

Immediately, he felt a bit happy inside.

Although he didn’t join Gauss’s team for Gauss’s combat power, with a talent as excellent as his, he should break through to an even higher level soon, and the entire team’s strength could become stronger.

This is always a good thing.

”Let’s not talk about this.” Gauss took a small pouch from his chest and placed it on the table.

As it was placed down, the pouch quickly clinked with the sound of coins.

”What’s this?” Haylir looked at Gauss curiously.

”This is the reward from our first mission, which I picked up in Gray Rock Town; your share of it.”

Gauss returned the first piece of adventuring compensation in his life.

Although 13 silver coins and 50 copper coins don’t seem like much now, at the time, coming back from the first mission, it was a considerable amount to him.

He had kept this money all along, not touching a single cent.

Although it sounded somewhat rigid, he wouldn’t touch the agreed-upon distribution of rewards; it was a matter of principle.

”The reward at that time was 9 silver coins, and later on it was supplemented by the guild with 9 silver coins, totaling 18 silver coins...” Since it was over half a year ago, Gauss explained the situation to Haylir.

”You...” Haylir just remembered such a thing.

Seeing Gauss looking so serious, she felt amused yet touched.

Did he really come all this way just to return a reward they had all long forgotten?

Looking at the pouch on the table, Haylir did not continue to refuse.

She also knew that this money was nothing to Gauss and that returning it was just a matter of principle.

”Well, thank you.” Haylir put the pouch away. ”I’ll pass Bell’s and Mia’s share to them afterward.”

Bell and Mia were the swordsman and assassin in the first team.

”How are the two of them?” Speaking of the two, Gauss also asked out of concern.

Both were seriously injured in the end, and the team had temporarily disbanded to treat them.

”They’ve both recovered.” Haylir paused for a moment.

”But Bell is still a bit inconvenienced with walking on the leg he injured, and now he’s taking over the family business. As for Mia, she’s preparing for the annual government employee exam for the Forest Capital.”

”That’s good.”

Hearing that the two who were injured were safe and sound, Gauss breathed a sigh of relief.

It resolved a long-standing matter in his heart.

And it seemed like everyone from their first temporary team had bright futures ahead of them.

Two heirs taking over their family businesses probably wouldn’t worry about food and clothing.

Mia was also preparing for exams, and the next meeting might just be at the town hall.

”Do you want me to arrange a meal with Bell and Mia?” Haylir asked.

In fact, not only Gauss, but even she hadn’t contacted these childhood friends for a while.

Recently, the three of them have been very busy, and although they said goodbye to the adventurer’s life, everyone still needed to strive for their own future.

This world does not have a pause button, and out of everyone’s view, everyone is progressing silently.

”If it’s convenient, please reach out to them.” Gauss nodded.

If not now, no one knows when the next meeting would be.

Just because they were all in the same city now, which seemed close, with everyone busy with their own affairs, future chances for contact would only become fewer, and it’s not surprising if this is the last meeting opportunity.

”Okay.” Haylir went out, asking someone to notify the two.

”Our trading company recently started involving in the maze loot recovery and sale industry; Gauss, if you have any loot to dispose of in the future, feel free to contact me, and I’ll definitely give you a fair price.”

”Okay.”

Gauss nodded, planning to discuss it with Aaliyah afterward.

Comparing prices, if they were similar, handing over the loot to Haylir’s family’s company for processing each time wouldn’t be a bad idea.

He wasn’t surprised by their trading company expanding its business scope.

The maze was just west of the Forest Capital, even though the Golden Beak Trading Company’s location was north, and the maze was in the southern wilderness, it still could get a share of the pie.

The sale of loot was a significant step for adventurers and their teams.

Battle was just one part of wilderness adventuring, not the whole.

A healthy and positive development should be continuously cycling positively, gaining more rewards, using those rewards to enhance oneself, and further challenging more difficult monsters to gain more rewards...

Thus, many adventurer teams had extensive collaborations with trading companies.

For instance, the trading companies dispatched specialized teams to recover materials, gathering the loot found by the teams outside the maze and supplying materials and supplies without delaying further exploration by the teams.

”Miss Haylir, the restaurant reservation is ready.”

It was almost noon.

Gauss, Serdur, and Haylir walked toward a high-end restaurant on the same street.

They waited in the private room for a while.

Soon.

Bell and Mia, who had been notified, also arrived together.
