Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard

Chapter 348: Chapter 346: Signal

In the third week at the Fire Dragon Reserve, Kael had already gradually become accustomed to the sometimes busy, sometimes leisurely life.

More importantly, he gained abundantly.

These days, just selling those damaged substandard goods he earned enough for two pairs of Anti-Curse Gloves, a total of one hundred and twenty-five Galleons.

But that’s about it...

At the end of the second week, the fire dragons engaged in the most intense and longest chaotic battle.

This time, even Kael couldn’t remain idle, joining Newt and Chris in treating three injured fire dragons, more than the previous two times combined.

By the end, there were only two fire dragons left in the sky.

A Hungarian Horntail and a Ukrainian Ironbelly... not the one Kael encountered before, this one’s size was even larger.

They only rested for a day before continuing to fight over the highest cliff.

Most people gathered around, eagerly waiting for the final outcome.

In terms of size, the Ukrainian Ironbelly clearly had the advantage... Charlie said it was about seven tons, just standing there it looked much bigger than the Hungarian Horntail by several sizes, like an adult dragon with a child.

However, Charlie was not optimistic about it.

”Even though they’re both Ukrainian Ironbelly, and about the same size, it lacks the wisdom of Pino Senior.

If during the previous times when everyone was struggling to fly, it was the one to win, it just couldn’t seize the opportunity, now...”

Charlie shook his head, ”Being big means consuming more, a day’s rest is simply not enough, the Hungarian Horntail surely knows this, hence the early attack.

...It doesn’t stand a chance.”

And the fact proved Charlie right.

Only after three hours, the Ukrainian Ironbelly’s movements slowed down, staggering, like a target in the sky.

The Hungarian Horntail, like an experienced hunter, quickly dominated using its speed advantage.

Everyone could tell the outcome of this battle was already determined, it was just a matter of time.

”Hogwarts should be starting soon, right?” Feeling a bit bored, Professor Rockneil approached Kael and asked quietly: ”Is it also in September?”

”September 1st.” Kael said, ”Less than two weeks left.”

”When starting school, you should be in the fourth year, right?”

”Yes.” Kael nodded.

”Interested in transferring to Beauxbatons?” Professor Rockneil suddenly said: ”If it’s you, I assure you’ll use the best materials in Alchemy class.”

Kael looked at Professor Rockneil with a head full of questions.

Seriously, what’s up with Beauxbatons, meeting people and convincing them to transfer?

Their headmistress Ms.Maxime was like this, the professor too, is this part of their onboarding training?

”I’m sorry, I don’t have such thoughts at the moment.”

After a silent moment, Kael shook his head and said: ”Besides, the O.W.L.s exam is next year, changing schools now wouldn’t be suitable.”

”It’s alright, it’s alright, I was just asking, you don’t need to take it seriously...”

Professor Rockneil waved his hand repeatedly, then leaned closer to Kael and whispered: ”Actually, Ms.Maxime asked me to ask... When I wrote to her a few days ago, I mentioned the situation here to her inadvertently, she seemed quite keen on transferring you to Beauxbatons.

Do you guys know each other?”

Honestly, when Ms.Maxime asked him in the letter to recruit from Hogwarts, he was quite bewildered.

Although it’s a bit impolite, due to funding, he had no choice.

He wasn’t just acquiring substandard goods, but whole materials and Dragon Blood, which was the main deal.

Though each acquisition wasn’t plenty, combining three times cost him nearly a thousand Galleons, which the school had to reimburse for sure.

Therefore, as part of reporting the situation, he wrote to Ms.Maxime, and casually reminded her to prepare the money.

Who would have thought the money hadn’t arrived yet but was asked to recruit from Hogwarts instead...

But anyway, he considered it done. ℯℯ𝘭.

”Ms.Maxime?”

Kael thought for a moment and said: ”Last year during the holidays, I met her once in Paris.”

”Oh... that explains it.”

Professor Rockneil suddenly realized: ”I remember she rarely leaves France, under normal circumstances, wouldn’t have known a Hogwarts young wizard.”

While the two were talking, the battle between the two fire dragons was also nearing its end.

Without any surprises, the Hungarian Horntail won.

Standing on the cliff, it roared, spewing mushroom cloud-shaped flames into the sky.

From all around, dragon roars followed continuously... expressing their submission.

”Finally over.” Charlie rubbed his forehead.

He hadn’t rested well for over a month, previously his mind was tense, but now, suddenly relaxing, felt like his head was hit hard, unbearably uncomfortable.

Now he should be able to rest well for a few days.

Even though he still had many tasks later on, none were urgent, he could take it slow...

”Roar!”

Another dragon roar.

Unlike the previous submissive sounds, this roar carried anger.

Charlie was startled and snapped back to reality.

Everyone looked in unison towards the direction of the sound...

It was an Antipodean Opaleye, unlike other fire dragons which lay on the ground, it was flying in mid-air, angrily spewing Dragon Flame towards the ground.

Meanwhile, a dazzling red light exploded next to it, leaving a large spherical pattern in the sky.

That was the unique signal of a Dragon Tamer.

”Damn... those cunning hyenas!”

Charlie hurriedly mounted his broom and flew towards that direction.

”Someone’s after the Dragon Eggs.”

Perhaps recognizing Kael’s confusion, Professor Rockneil explained softly: ”That is a unique signal for the Fire Dragon Reserve, red represents unidentified intruders, the ball represents the Dragon Egg.”

”Should we go help?” Kael asked.

”No need, someone is already on the way.” Chris walked over and shook his head.

”That’s right.” Rockneil smiled, ”The reserve foresaw such events, since two weeks ago, there’s been someone guarding beside each batch of Dragon Eggs.

Moreover, there’s special Protective Magic on the Dragon Eggs, you can’t leave with them using Disillusionment.”

While speaking, more and more Dragon Tamers arrived near the Antipodean Opaleye.

But a few minutes later, two more red lights exploded consecutively in the south, and then in the north, two more...

A total of seven places signaled, and they were far apart, each in a different direction.

”So many people, and at the same time... seems like they’ve planned ahead.”

Chris seemed surprised, yet his expression remained unchanged.
